Our Ongoing Grows

LOL at Run Forrest Run. Hey can't knock that flick. I think it touched everybody. Great Movie. Any care to count that ways shrimp can be eaten? JK Thanks all for stopping in. Update

Well well well. I ended up getting a tad of that pollen off the Bubba and pollinating the Skunk with it. 'Old Smelly Ass Bubba'. I'm going to be trying to get of old school skunk smell on the Bubba Kush. I truly wonder if this can be female pollen. Remember the Bubba was suppose to be a fem seed. So I take it that it came from a treated mother plant, could be. And She isn't a hermie because it took off in the male flowering mode without signing of a female, whats so ever. Well I guess I'll find out soon enough. I took some pollen in foil and a artists brush, painted alittle pollen on some pretrimed lower branches, then used a white legal sized envelope and made a sleeve out of it to cover the branch. Taped it closed. Now afew day wait and spray the hell out of it with water. I saved atad of the pollen incase I want to hit the others. I figure viable seeds shouldn't take but 3 weeks max, so if I have to cut the skunk before seeds finish, I'll just leave that one branch on the plant after the harvest. Guess a person could actually harvest a whole plant minus acouple lower branches, then pollinate just those, and leave plant growing for acouple weeks longer. Thats one way to make sure you don't seed the whole crop. I don't think it will matter if the flower was past ripe to seed? Well here'whatha I got. Day three started with pollen. Man you just brush up against that Skunk plant and you stink.
Bagger.JPG

Ok I also got that Paki Ryder started. I'm going to give her all the space she can use. You know be all she can be. She's in a gallon pot now, but I plan on giving her 3-4 gallon to finish in;
Paki-Ryder.JPG

Ok I hear this is a great plant for MS. I have a friend, she never tried the evil weed before. But now she's willing to. I want to try to find something that will help. Everything I hear about this plant says in might' Spoetnik . Well see what she does;
Spoetnik1.JPG

Also have this little girl coming up. OG Kush. Another plant I hear great things about. But got to remember they got some great sounding words from the sales department. Anyways I do know if you get the rite mother of her going, you'll want no other, OG Kush;
OG-Kush.JPG

Another pretty little girl I got growing is this little gem, NLxBB. Northern Lites X Big Bud. Suppose to be a producer;
NLxBB3.JPG

Ofcouurse I have a Berkley Blue clone also going;
B-Blue.JPG

Here's another pic of the mother plant. She's on day 42. Stoney claims atad earlier that that like 35-42, and she just now starting to cloud up alittle. I'm going to give her another couple days to go;
B-Blue_2_.JPG

Thanks for stopping in and looking all. I hope all my friends gradens are doing what they should. Growing GREAT. Keepem Green

Hey Sprout............You just keep it rolling don't you old friend. :high-five:

Been thinking about your old self.......A month from now every biker on the island is going to make a grand tour around the island. It will be something to see. :thumb:

Lovies Miss J :love:

Old Smelly Ass Bubba... Sounds like a hick in south Alabama. :rofl:

I liked Bubba Skunk better, lol

Anywhom... Nice update and nice pics... The question of "Female pollen": if that plant came up with male flowers, I would complain to the bank. You have a male, with male pollen. Also, take that paper off!! You're blocking light. Pollination literally only takes about 15 minutes. Uncover and spray it down to wash unused viable pollen off as soon as you can. Don't wait days for that. To confirm pollination has occurred, the pistils will seem to immediately turn color (usually in 1/2 hour). Any that haven't, was not a success in pollination. You can try again on those pistils, if you like, but only cover for 1/2 hour max.

You'll also find that seeds to fully mature can take up to 6 weeks. So yeah, you might be harvesting buds and leaving the rest under the light for the seeds to mature.

I hear ya on the some seeds take up to 6 weeks. The few I use to have to make to have stock for the next were all done like this. We used a brown bag was only difference. Well I took the bag off tonite and I can see some have the look that they may have taken the pollen. Hope the pollen is viable. It was the first few flowers that opened from where I obtained the pollen. I myself never had had to wait a full six weeks before. If I remember rite 3 weeks is about all it really takes. But what it's really going to take is till they are done. That's the only fact I can claim. I've heard tale that the first few flowers have a lower success rate as viable pollen. Just things my mentor use to tell me about growing. Back in the 70's there wasn't alot of help out there if you had a question, except 1 or 2 good growers bibles. You either learned by trial and error, or do some grunt work with a tried and true grower. I remember hauling tons of soil up in the mountains and homemade ledge frame back pack custom made to haul clones15-20 at a time. I had a friend Casey, he was out of Santa Cruz, and we meet on the American River. We both got way into gold mining. First couple seasons we sluiced and panned for like 3 months at a time. Well one year we got ahold of a nice real nice placer claim just afew miles off interstate 80 by a town called Dutch Flat. Lots of great gold history in the area, and still alot of working placer mines kicking out 2 oz's a day. Gold back then was 400 per. Exchange whats a 100 dollar make up for resale so gold was worth 300$ a Oz. We had many 2 oz days with afew 3-5 oz's day. 2 Oz's will buy gas and beans and beers. We loved it. Well about a mile up the trail we have a irrigation flume heading off to Grass City for water supply. Anyways they make this concrete flumes go for miles and miles. One was just above or 160 acre claim we had. Hey them things got alot of leaks. I started digging a hole at the bottom where the water leaks to the ground. Then I'd spread some heavy duty liner across the bottom and then fill it with some odd shapes of rock. You attach some of the 1" black tubing to the liner and roll the length down the hill toward where ever you need water. The water ill settle in that res you made then you use gravity to get the flow going. It makes hella water pressure. I had better pressure there than I did by the Bay Area at home. I used this flume to water my gardens for 5 years till I got in trouble another story.
But I sure carried ahella lot of dirt and plants down that hill. Now at the price gold is I wish I'd have held onto that claim. We found some great gold there. Small time operation could easily pull 5 oz's a long day underwater. I wish I was 20 years younger. I really think I'd have a good chance of getting into some really good gold. I got 1 nugget there that weighted 3 1/2 oz's and looked like the state of Texas. Right buyer and it woodve made a sweet belt buckle.
Nothing new here. I plan on cutting the B-B after her dark cycle which will start tommorrow morning. I'll update some pic's then. Till then Everyone Keepem Green

Well Thought I'd do a fast drive thru to keep everyone up to date. I took the Berkley-Blue down at day 47. Abit of amber showing up in her. She didn't have any large buds, but then as much topping I do it's no wonder. I took a pic earlier, she was a plant that looked to be LST'ed from the beginning. Here's what the stem looked like. I wood rather lose a week in veg and double my yield. This was topped after the first set of true leaves. The end result works for me;
Top59.JPG

Of course there are some plants you can lose yields doing this. You won't get that one big monster cola that alot of strains like to produce. I plan on trying afew, besides the auto flowerers, without topping again this year. I have a great looking little one I haven't topped yet called Sputnik or something like that. I see there are two strains of the same name, just spelled different. I dig up the venders name in afew. I 'NEVER' top a auto flower. Can't see wasting any precious veg time with them strains. I flower mine under 20/4 lighting schedual. Something a friend told me long ago, plants need nite. They grow at night. And here's a pic of what the Berkley Blue looked like in the cloest for it's dark time;
BB70.JPG

I don't have a good guess on the yeild but it looks over 3 1/2 oz's. Hard to read how these will dry out but I see just short of a quarter lb. The other one looks alot better than this one. I mean as far as the size of the buds. They sure have a nice fruity smell to them.
This little girl, OG Kush, took off with 4 main stems after her topping. I've never grown this strain before, but I hear nothing but good about her, cept maybe she's atad small on yield. I 'think' I've heard that somewhere. We'll just have to see where she goes;
007650.JPG

Ok here's another. I know I just posted her pic aminute ago, but she's suppose to be a fast one. Auto Paki-Ryder;
004821.JPG

True there Jandre2k3. We'll put a fork in her before I cut the branch. She looks like she took tho. Hairs turning brown. Starting to swell abit. I'll get a pic of her some nite when I can get a good shot. Anyone know what filter that is they use to get ood pic's under HPS lighting? I know they have glasses for that. But maybe something that will fit on a Canon?
Love it Pop's. I sure miss riding. I have a Bro on the coast here, he keeps talking about his partner that does custom trikes. I haven't been on a bike in a LONG time. Damn hip. Miss J keeps on me about getting a revision while I still got afew good years left in me. I forget what I wood be like to be able to just do the normal things people take for granted. AND I want to go riding again. Maybe gold dredging again. Crazy prices. Man.

I see ya got good things happening in your world as far as the garden goes.
IGG I'm a running.
Keepem Green Eveyone.

LOL....That was a good movie, when jandre2k3 said Bubba Skunk reminded him of a shrimp company ..I thought of Bubba Shrimp and the movie, thats why i said Run forest Run. So was funny when you said you were running LMFAO. Plant looks amazing and nice job training them and topping.
Like jandre2k3 said Go to Menu on your camera and look for white balance and press OK button, then scroll down using buttons outside OK button to set it on MANUAL ....Then a screen should come up with small view box...scroll down to Measure. point camera at canopy below light and click OK button....it will take pic/measure light. Then click menu to exit to take great pictures :)

For future reference Jandre is correct, you should have only needed about 15 minutes before hosing off everything. It really is almost instantaneous in how it works. I was skeptical, but just did a selective pollination like you are doing last grow, and used q tip like you, then hosed off the budsite and surrounding area 15 minutes later. From one bud per plant, I got like 30-40 seeds on 2 of the plants, and about 15 or so on the 3rd. Worked realy well, and so far it looks like I was successful in only pollinating the intended buds. In about a week to 10 days, it was really obvious which bud was the pollinated one, as the calyx's swell into large seedpods in only 7-10 days (I also had a uniquely colored twist tie around the spot where the budsite was pollinated. I hit the gals at 21 days bloom.

I just harvested an OG Kush, and it is SPECTACULAR weed. Helps with my nerve pain, leaves me energized and creative. But, terriblly small buds and low yielding. I should have listened to everyone who suggested super-cropping. Supposedly, if you super crop her branches she'll yield much better. I did a couple of branches, and it made a difference. I wish I'd have done much more super cropping - that's my best advice to you on the OG Kush. But, killer weed!!! Also, she turned pretty purple and yellow as she got close to harvest.

Your garden looks amazing as ever. ++Rep for always being one of my favorite places to visit and ogle bud porn. :thumb:

Hello everyone. Hope life is good. We'll whatever works and it looks like me and Miss J are grandparents. Or could be. Man that seed pods are swelling up thick. I can just about see the seeds popping the pods open. Looks like alot of seed to. The parent plant has about a week to 10 days to go. Looks like it will time out about perfect.
I understand about the pollenation process, ' sometimes all to well' I figgure this way I can get all I can out the bud. Bye brushing the pollen on and leaving it acouple days, it may create more seed than flushing the pollen off right after. The 'bag' didn't phase the bud. It was white paper that let plenty of inderect lite in. I pollenated a thumb sized bud, and 3-4 smaller buds on th same branch. It might be intresting to watch how fast it takes to react with another one. Just for the pictures. One of my favorate things is seed shopping. JK Not......... I just threw acouple more strains on the paper towel. Star Treck seed and a Dinafem Cheese. Star Treck are seeds I found in the bottom of a 1/2lb bag. She must have selfed herself.
Jandre, I'm a idiot when it comes to PC's and phone now add cameras. I got a pretty good camera. It's a Canon SX20is. Hell I still haven't really even messed with the Macro Settings yet. Looks like you are a pretty busy camper over there yourself. We all get prop's period. I think all of us who really love the grow as much as the product, and I know we all get aweful busy.
Hey IGG. I know you got lots going on to. I still need to catch up on your site. I haven't been on alot lately. Seems like all I ever do anymore is bearly keep up on my thread anymore.
Xlr well your another one of them growers. Great grow you got going on also.
Well fast pic updates. Lets roll off with that topic, seeds. Sorry pic isn't all it could be but the Pods are spliting and looks like a nice little haul. Now if the pollen was good, and the plant gods willing;
Seeds46.JPG

And we're off to the rodeo with this one, Paki-Ryder. Showing her ass off. I forget how many days rite this moment, but I'll get that later;
Paki1.JPG

And another one comes off the line. Another Berkley Blue. This one looks 5 times tighter of a plant that the other one. I got 3 Oz' off the first. Man she has a strong smell of fruit to her. Well #2 had alot tighter buds. She is a easy to handle plant and finished at 45 days. I was tending the room last nite and moved the fan around and it blew afew leaves around. I knowed that different color to the bottoms. Man this plant looks like a keeper. I'm glad I cut a clone from her. Wish I had off afew out back, awhile back. But that's another story. But I can see a world of difference between the 2 I grew. Well here's what colors this Blue is working with. I wish it could've finished outside she'd have turned all kinds of colors;
Color5.JPG

Ok well I took a quick pic of the sampler I took off the Skunk. I really like this one. EVERYONE has a skunk plant in their garden, or a variant made with skunk genetics in them somewhere. This has been the best skunk I've found in a long time. I mean SKUNY;
Sample5.JPG

Well one last thing. I did a boo boo. A BAD ONE........ live, learn, then die and forget it all. I took my plants from inside and put them outside. Weather didn't help, it's not what I was use to as far as growing goes. Well I should've 'hardened' off my plants for the transion in the lite regiment. Afew started flowering pretty good out there. 2 Cripits at are at 3' tall. A B-B at 3'. These 3 was fixxing to get a 'BIG ASS POT'. Now they have to go thru the reveg crap. Man they put out a mess of leaves on some. I've had leaves curl around durning reveg. I look at it this ways,,,,,,,,,,,, even if I get the pruners out and cut it ways back, I still got a hella set of roots going allready. I figgure thats a plus for any plants. They should rebound nicely by fall time. Well everyone thanks for looking in.
Keepem Green

Looks like a good haul coming with the seeds, BIG congratulations there. Skunk looks nice and comfy in there. Really looking good over here, man. Sorta makes me jealous about your camera. All my pics are taken with my phone. That 12MP job you've got is a nice one. I've been wanting that exact camera for a while, now. It would sure make life a little easier than with my 6MP on my phone. Macro sucks on this thing.

Anyway, enough of that. Grats again on the seeds, hope you get lots of little babies from them! :cheesygrinsmiley:

LOL Jandre2k3 I been a actual grand dad for awhile but not again, or or. Nun Billie JK. Naw Jan is the seeds.

Jandre2k3 really is there anything else? JK Kind of. Growing weed tends to take over after awhile. Grows like a weed on ya. Thx it's getting pretty close to taking that skunk plant. I still plan on leaving the seeded branch on the plant growing till the seeds start to pop out on the floor. I have panda film on the floor so they will make alittle noise as the fall. Here's the plant;
Skunk;
Skunk57.JPG

Ok so lets see whats going on around here. That Yumbolt-47 I got going is getting close. Man I tell ya , there are sure some great smells kicking off in the flower room. This Yumbolt has a strong musky smell, with pine in it too. But reminds me of incense, but Miss J picked up on a piney scent. She's a producer for sure. Bud's aren't really solid. They have the sativa look. Well here's what she looks like on the hoof;
Y-473.JPG

And I had to take a 'small' sample. The plant is loaded. It's one of them I tied back in some S's. Some of the S's had to be tied over twice. These are acouple of her seconary branch tops;
Y-47_sample.JPG

Ok what else do I have going on around here. A Chronic. 'Fruity Chronic' She's well along in flower. I think about 45 days as is. Buds are hella solid. From what I understand, she could be a big cola plant. Friend had one with a cola as large as his calf. Maybe I'll get another and do that SOG I've been wanting to do. Hell SOG or SCOG. Well here she is;
F-Chronic.JPG

And alittle closer in on her tops. Frosted Nuggets here. And she's just now starting to pile on more and more;
Chronic15.JPG

Ok guess what???????????????????? ZZ Top is in town. Hint Miss J ?????????? We'll talk. Well I hope everyone is doing good out there. And that gardens are green and Keepem Green
