Otterfarm Flooded! NextLight Mega Responsible!

I have 7 years so far on this soil, and been using pine bark mulch all along, removing it after the grow and replacing with new each time. It may acidify my organic soil a little over time, that 2% layer over the top of the container, but then I come along regularly and add back in some more dolomite... maybe that evens it out. At any rate, it hasn't wrecked my soil yet. Enjoy that fattie! I am about to do the same thing here.
That's good to hear. Powdered or big grains on the dolomite? Or Prilled? I have had a bit of a confusion issue determining which one to use in the revs recipe. It does call for prilled when needed for part of the recipe. I understand that. That leaves me with "powdered" and I use lime which is by definition dolomite? So that's what I use. I still wonder if I have that right.

That seems to be working just fine for you. I can't really speak to what is happening in my soil though, until I get a soil analysis done... this stuff could be verging on toxic at this point, and I wouldn't know.

Highya SO,

Last summer I used a wood/bark mulch quite heavy on top of my tomatoes. Then they went downhill for a few days. I mixed up some calcium carbonate with water, gave a good dose, and that fixed the problem. Love that color green they are in the pic! Cheers

Good one Bode! I'll keep my eyes open for it. Thanks!

All righty now! I have some pics from todays auto watering. Here the photos are coming along ok. The stankberries have dug in and are beginning to grow fast. The 2 others have started to get some good new growth but haven't really had a taste of the new soil yet. Another day or a few. The mag def seems to be gone in the new growth, I'm keeping my eye on that. I'm not lsting like I usually do because of the crowded tent. I'm not moving them yet. I think there's time for a hail mary later for the lst.

Good news! Hi, I forget if I mentioned that the soil I amended from the DDA grow got anaerobic. well it did. I used a new container and it didn't have enough fresh air entering it and it went super stinky. I was surprised because one of the things I did was use Lacto basilic acid in the soil to help break everything down. I shouldn't have been surprised, air is important to the process. I drilled a bunch of holes in the lid a few days ago and today I went down to check on it and the stench is almost gone! (I've been slowly drying it out for over a week now) That little air circulating made a big difference. I'd guess the whole top half of the soil is perfectly moist and smelling good. The bottom half needs some time. I separated it giving it more air to work its magic so wish me good luck, I think it solved itself and I'll be using this soil again in another month to blast another round of autos out before summer. It is still quite a bit warmer in the middle than ambient so I believe it's composting away. Have a good week!

Good Day. Yesterday while looking closely at the little northern lights I found a few tiny open male parts low on the plant so I took it out and cut her up. I hope they were so small they didn't do too much pollination on the appleberries in there beginning the 3rd week of flower. I think they will be ok, time will tell though.
This morning I trimmed her up and split the 52 wet grams of cut off buds into a paper bag and a quart mason jar with the lid replaced with cheesecloth. Low and Slow in the fridge they go. Sorry about the copy and paste error ID's on the pics I don't know what happened there. It's the NL for sure.
