A New Chapter: First Indoor Grow With NextLight Mega

Temps have been crazy in our area all week....over 100 degrees. On day 5 my portable air conditioner for the tent crapped out and we had to scramble a bit to find a replacement. Walmart come to the rescue with one left in the store.
I ended up running the intake hose in a pot with bagged ice until we could make the trip to and from the store (a little over an hour for me). The tent topped out at 87 but I was able to bring it under control in short order with the new unit. Phew!

Here are some updates pics of the girls as they finish week 5 of flower.

The air conditioner was around 450$. It’s a portable 8,000 btu and seems to be working well so far. We had rain today but still with humidity felt like 38! At least the air conditioning was great at work today..12 hour day shift for me.
time to roll a very very large one!

Ahh yes! I think I saw that exact one. I was also looking at that one. Expensive, but so damn worth it!! Where I have my tent now, is in the basement, so my plants are always in a cool temperature. Would love for that in my bedroom tho! Come fall, maybe I will own my very own! Lol

I wish I could have AC at work... I’m always such a swampy mess... damn construction and they’re safety rules!!

Ac at work is a must! I am an RN working labour and delivery/pediatrics lol there is no way we could get away without it.

Hubby is in the process of collecting parts/pieces to put together a 2 ton unit for the ladies. I’ll put up a detailed post when we are at the build stage...seems simple enough when he explains it to me but will see what happens in reality. The two are often worlds apart for me

Wow! Very cool!! You definitely don’t have an easy job! A lot of respect goes to you for what you do. The wife and I just had our second baby on May 20th. I see all the things you need to deal with. Some women you deal with more then others. It can not be easy!! Much respect goes to you!! Thank you for everything you do!! Covid really didn’t make your job any easier!!

Covid sucks for sure! Made my job different every day lol I just try to go with the flow haha
Much respect to you for what you do too! We are all in this together and play on one big team..every player counts.

Hubby’s air conditioner plan is rolling...getting bigger by the day lol he’s considering revamping a heating/cooling system just for my girls With recycled parts. I have no doubt he will make it fly.

Yay!! My first indoor harvest!! I have to say I’m totally addicted to growing!!
I harvested the Dark Devil Auto on day 72
I had ordered a lighted loupe from amazon and it seems it came in just in time too!
Lots of cloudy trichromes and just a speckling of amber.
She smells like freshly ground coffee to me with undertones of spice. Her color is spectacular from top to bottom!!
This lovely girl, if you recall was topped and has some lst done in her early weeks. She was in a 1 gallon pot with 1/2 supersoil at the bottom and my base soil on top and was given water only.

I did not take a wet weight. She has a small fan running at the bottom of the box and will hang here for at least 5 days. The rh in the house is around 45%, so I’ll have to watch her. Last year we dried under very different conditions so I’m not quite sure what to expect.
will update when she goes into jars with an early smoke report and dry weight.

Yield seems great I’m thinking (hoping) 4 jars. I thought that was pretty fair for an auto grown on 12/12 lights.
The Dark Widow will come down next. Been watching trichromes daily..just need to get through a swing of night shifts..she needs to wait for me lol.

A little peek inside the tent at the end of 6 weeks flowering. I am so flippin’ proud of these girls!!
temps here have remained crazy hot but the little air conditioner is managing to keep the tent at 80 or less. The best I have been able to do for rh is mid to high 50’s so I’m hoping having enough air flow with fans is enough.

I can’t get this view of the Green Crack at the moment because the Dark Widow Auto is blocking the way. You can see her here in the foreground and can get a good feel for where each individual plant is with this view Green Crack is the right side, Belladonna on the left and Blue Cindy in the back. The Dark Widow Auto is between the bars in the front.

Here is a closeup shot of a Dark Widow bud. I will get a better pic of the full plant when she comes out of the tent at harvest.

The Dark Devil Auto is drying nicely and should be ready for jars by the time the Dark Widow is harvested. If not they will have to hang together for a short while I guess...I might need another bar in the box if that’s the case.
