7-12-17 update;
Progress to report on the clones! I see 2 showing roots!
I tried to take some pictures but they didn't turn out very good so I will try again tomorrow.
It was a busy afternoon, rez change on the RDWC, fresh 5 gal batch for the coco gals, clone tank change...my RO system got a work-out yesterday & today!
The rez change process starts with (5) 5 gallon pails of RO water with mixed in nutes using the Growboss monitor to PH up or down.
Before I start mixing the batch, I attach a garden hose to my supply line and rez drains and open the valves. By the time I have everything mixed and PH'd, the system is drained and all I have to do is wipe out the rez with a clean white towel. By doing this it will show me if I have to be concerned with anything going wrong in the system, as long as it stays fairly clean with no slime or brown crud, the system is healthy.
After it is all wiped out, I pour in 10 gallons of nutes and start the pumps, as the level starts to lower I add in another 5 gallons, just before the pump starts sucking air, I will see a steady stream start to flow back in the rez from the returns, that tells me the buckets are full and there is no blockage in the return system. I add the remaining 10 gallons and let the system stabilize while wiping down the fill buckets. After about 20 minutes of circulation, the monitor will tell me if I need to adjust the PH and what my final PPM's are. The change will take about 45 minutes to complete, and 7 1/2 hours to fill the buckets from the RO system.
The old beans have not shown any signs of peeking out, the temp in the dome is 80 degrees with 75% RH. I have been misting them twice a day to keep the rooters damp. When I put them in the rooters, I covered them with small pieces of the rooter and kind of made it level without packing it down so if I see that area rising a little them there should be action going on.
The current grow still keeps stretching up, the tallest branch is 15" above the scrog with many more 10-12". I am beginning to see some differences within each strain. One of the Purple Kush gals is a much shorter/slower growing lady as is the same with the Widows, one was showing flowers sooner and is a little shorter than her sisters.
As far as the RDWC system verses the Coco Coir, the jury is still out on which is better, the RDWC is much less work, the Coco Coir showed faster growth in the beginning, that decision will probably made once harvest is done!
