OTM's DIY Bubble Cloning & Sprouting 40 Year Old Seeds & Current RDWC Harvest

Hey OTM, I mounted my usb digital scope to a boom on a mike stand, with the help of duct tape :)
I wrapped the cable around the boom after the pic was taken

OTM, you mentioned wanting to throw in on the Red Cup. I know how valuable those seeds you have are. We are starting a new run from seeds in soil. If you happen to have a number of girls going and want to start a new one we are kicking off a new run on August 23rd.

Not sure what you've got in the stable, but if you wanna join in...

I may take you up on that Age, it would give me time to order some beans and sort out how things are going with the current harvest which will be around that time.

I'll jump over to the Red Cup and get caught up later this evening.:passitleft:

7-29 Update;

Not much to report today, everything is looking good with the clones and current grow. No signs of Old Beans popping up out of their rooters yet, and I buried the other 3 beans in the garden next to the others with my hat in hand!:laughtwo:

I did get a chance to play around with my el cheapo USB microscope on its new MacGyvered boom stand. I had some old photography lighting equipment and a tripod that did the trick, now I need to fine tune the light and zoom settings a bit for better pictures.

Tomorrow will be res change day going on week 7 flower nute schedule for the RDWC and week 1 veg for the clones in there little bubbler. Hope to see progress on the old beans!

:thanks:

These USB microscopes are just the friggin answer. When I first went looking for one on Amazon I assumed they'd be pricey. I was glad to see they were dirt cheap and do a decent job.

Yea they look decent.. but id have to cut a bud off to look at it cause i dont have a laptop. Honestly the only reason to buy one is to show off trich pics.. which is always fun and can be helpful if you are unsure of what you are looking at. Always nice to have a second opinion as well.

Some of them are quite pricey, when this one popped up on eBay for $13.99 shipped to my door, I couldn't pass it up! It is touchy on the zoom but it goes from 50X to 500X and has 8 LED's that are also dimmable...I just have to practice and learn how to use it better!:laughtwo:

Its too bad they don't have a jack the plugs into a smart phone or tablet, that will probably be on the horizon.

OTM check out my Quad12 build. I got a scope like you are talking a week ago. There are some example pics on there.

Very interesting on the old seeds. I've got some 20-25 year old seeds from my old grows my buddy saved. Hopefully I won't have to go through as many issues to bring back those old breeds.

Great to have you on board Dr, :welcome:

The best advice I would give you is split a couple in half with a razor blade using a tweezers to hold them so you don't cut off a finger!:laughtwo:

If they are a off white color inside and kind of waxy like, there is a good chance you can get some to pop. A lot depends on how they were stored, and if you went through this journal all the way, I have had a failure or two in my attempts.:yikes:

I currently have three that put out taps in paper towel and are now in rooters but no sprouts yet...:slide::wood:

I need those 2,000 year old seeds lol. Imagine what it would be like  Ancient landrace anyone? ;)
I really liked how they honestly mentioned the fact people did grow for "rec use" and the fact cannabis 2000 years ago was found to be as potent as strains today really tells you how powerful and special true landraces really are. As someone who LOVES landraces and feels they are superior to any hybrid medicinally...this makes me VERY happy yo read. . . .
