Hey old timer (always wanted to say that) lol.... I just ordered some purple kush for my next round how do you like yours so far?

7-28 Update;

This morning I put Old bean #4 in the rooter, I took pictures of it but the were over flashed and unrecognizable. We now have 3 out of six that popped taps this last round, one that is laying between the paper towel like a slug, and two that are still at the bottom of the glass.

The other 3 may find a home this weekend with the last attempt in the outdoor garden which nothing is showing so far.

I had a chance to take some pictures of the clones, beans sitting in their rooters and the current grow, first the beans and clones.

We are starting to see some nice frost and filling out on many of the cola's and sites, these first two pictures are with a flash and without of the same bud;

Kind of neat how those crystals absorb the lighting!

I tried out my cheap USB microscope, it actually takes some nice pictures...when it is fixed or steady!:laughtwo: I am going to try to make an attachment for my camera tripod with a adjustable boom because I can't hold it steady enough to take a decent picture freehand...this happens with age!:loopy:

Here are a couple more random shots of the gal's as you see them walking in the room since I don't have any worth posting from my microscope;

Welcome aboard CC, :welcome:

I am pretty impressed with both the CKS White Widow & Purple Kush, 100% germination rate and so far no major issues...I am seeing a difference in the genetics of the seeds, with the Purple Kush being on the right side of the net and the Widows on the left.

The 4 at the corners are growing in RDWC and the 2 in the center are in Coco Coir, my original plan was just to do 4 and I soaked 6 seeds figuring a couple would not crack...they all cracked so why not try 2 different but similar ways to grow them.

In a month I should have a wet weight, and a month after that a dried weight and quality test!:tommy:
 
Sweet.... can't wait for the end result... hopefully mine will look half as good LOL.. been following your posts about the 40 year old seeds.. it's amazing that you still have them did any Sprout yet?

I just put the 3rd sprout in a rooter this morning, go back 3 or 4 pages and you will see what I had to do to get some life in them.

guess i missed a page or two lol... That's insane man... good job... I had 20 or 30 seeds that were only about 3 years old and I couldn't get a single one of those to germinate... I got them from a friend that I'm guessing didn't take very good care of them during storage.. they were decent bag seeds but oh well... thank God for online seed banks lol

Right, I've got some bag seeds that I would love e to grow but I can't get the little f'ers to germinate. Admittedly, they are pale and don't look like the seeds you can get online look like. I think they are underdeveloped which sucks..

Storage could be an issue, did you try splitting a couple in half to see what is in the seed case?

No, I've got a two plant max. house rule my wife is enforcing. I've got a Diesel and a Purple Bud in the tent right now. The few seeds I have left from the bag I will try with once those two have been harvested.

I think I'll pull LA Confidential first, and then we'll pull the rest around the same time. LA Confidential is looking a little further along than the rest of ours between us based on her amber hairs. But the rest are a toss up. Should make for a fun week or so around here!

Are you going to have the clones ready to go for when these come out? I'm not going to break and reset - I'm going to go full perpetual. My veg girls are going to be ready. I'll post up some pics shortly, I'm really happy with their progress after the shaky first couple of weeks under the T5s.

I took a seed from each strain and used a razor blade to cut them in half just to see what the inside of the pod looked like before I even soaked the others...kind of a sacrifice but if they were a shell with dried up powder on the inside, chances were they would all look like that. If you go back to the first few pages of this journal, you will see what I did and why I did it. It may give you an indication of your chances to get them to sprout.:cheertwo:

I am thinking harvest will be kind of 1 plant at a time on this end, 2 weeks is probably close for the Widow gal in coco, and 2-3 weeks for the rest, they are all drinking and eating well so its up to them!:laughtwo:
 
I'm going to do the plants on separate days as well. I want to let one run longer than the other to see the difference in effect. And I want to be able to apply anything I learn to the next one in line.

Very interesting read JM, you can bet if there were seeds in that stash they are at some lab trying to do what I am...if they get some to pop, look out for a new strain called "Cryptmaster" :rofl:
