Original source seeds from the 70's: Yes I have some

Note also that these male florets are smokable after they are dried. Contrary to popular opinion, they can and will get you high. Not as high as the resin rich sinsemilia gals, and typically males have more CBD than females. The pollen will stay viable for a few days to about week at most, unless it is dried and frozen when it will last for maybe a year and a half? Some on the web say it will stay viable for months if kept dry and sealed and cool, but I have not experienced that. It has to be dry, and to keep it that way you can store it in vials with some rice grains (let it set for a few hours with the rice to absorb any moisture before freezing).

I have a hundred or so vials of frozen pollen, and I need to go through my pollen collection and toss out all the old ones over 2 years old when I add these new males to my collection. My males are scrawny dwarfs that I kept in 2 gallon pots. I hard pruned them several times to keep them small. I do not need Jorge Cervantes monster size male plants. I have let males grow full size in the past for genetic selecting, and in the early days I did not know how to force cuttings to bloom under 12/12 light dep to sex plants early. In those days I let them grow until they popped bananas, and then I pulled them, unless I wanted seeds.

If you're in the PDX area, I'd love to just sit down and shoot the shit. I'll buy you a beer if you drink, or we can smoke a J.

I want to live in your brain for a while! Lol
Keep em green!!!

I am just east of PDX here in the Cascades. I do not get into the city much these days though. Traffic is bad to worse there now.

But I drink Corona with lime. And I only let women live in my brain (and little brains).

The Phylos Galaxy - Phylos Bioscience

They do their research at OHSU if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, I am aware of Phylos Bioscience labs (I have an account with them), Phylos Galaxy and several other genetic research places. However, Phylos is associated with certain individuals that I have great contempt for, so I do not have that much respect for them. I am more interested in the Open Cannabis Project, the Cannabis Genomic Research Initiative (CGRI), and PLOS|one. PLOS has done good and interesting research so far. I have posted about this stuff on some other 'nice' forums as Bug Sur. There is also TRU-Breed Technology in Oakland, CA that I have a lot of genetic results from.

Much of the early gene sequencing makes little sense with some of the posted results though. One has to question what are being used for benchmarks for sativa and indica, and the validity of samples being submitted. Some strains, like White Widow are obviously multiple strains with multiple genetics. This is in part by design, as WW was developed by Shantibaba when he was at GHS, but he sold out of GHS and left and took his mother plants with him. Subsequent to that, Arjan hired another breeder who developed a new strain of WW. As GHS owns the rights to WW, they can sell whatever they want and call it that. But the strain they have now being sold as WW is completely different than the original WW. Shantibaba has since formed another company and recreated Black Widow, which is close to the original White Widow by design, as it has the exact same parents. Then there are F1-20 and S1-20 strains of White Widow floating around out there, and what anyone wants to call White Widow developed from their own breeding. There is little control of strain names, and in Cannabis breeding, all the Fx and Sx resulting seed strains are typically named the same as the original parents. Which is different than in most plant naming schemes, where only the parent would retain the original name, with all the clones taken from that plant. Those clones are what are patented in the US for plants sold at nurseries, typically roses and ornamental flowers.

I am an engineer by degrees and profession, but I was a chef before that and I have had sideline plant nurseries specializing in bamboos, Japanese maples, cymbidium orchids, cane berries and grape cultivars in NorCal, SoCal, Southern Oregon and Northern Oregon. I also ave certificates in ornamental horticulture and silviculture. I have also been growing weed on and off since 1972. I have the land and zoning in a county that allows it to get a grow license here, and I may do that. I am waiting to see what shakes out of the Trump administration though. Or if a significant number of more states join the Legal States of America. There also may not be much of a market for landrace strains in the era of high demand for Bubba's Widowed Sister's Purple OG Gorilla Snot #5 type strains. Before I planted a Pinot Noir vineyard in Southern Oregon, I had deals with two local wineries to buy my grapes before I planted a single vine. Here no one wants to talk to me unless I have a giant bag of tested weed in hand of a strain that they happen to want. I could just grow Durban Poison to start I guess? There is high demand for that stuff. I am growing several test plants of different strains of that now. Durban is tough to work with though, and these Lebbies are highly variable.

And speaking of Lebbies, the seeds I planted for this run are from later years than my 70s land race strain collection, but Lebanese hashish was definitely a headliner in the 1970s. This is a test bud that I harvested today. She is fattening up nicely. This cola is sticky and resinous as all fuck. Early blooming, good high, potential for reducing or eliminating/aborting my migraine headaches. Nearing harvest at 7 weeks blooming now. I have seeded 4 lower branches with an RSC Lebanese land race sativa pheno male that I am also growing this year (and in bloom now).

This is from the sativa pheno of Swiss (Blue Hemp) Lebanese land race sourced from the Bekaa Valley.

I stay in burbs myself. I can't do the traffic either.

That's a dangerous place to be letting ladies play! Lol

I will look into those others! Thank you, you continue to be a vault of knowledge!!

Yes it is. I am still getting over my deevorce 8 years ago.

Duplicate post for some reason...

Been busy here. Went out of town with the family for Labor Day weekend, and got back with a huge wildfire 10 miles northeast of me. We were notified that we may have to evacuate. I will stay here and water my house and property if it comes to that. Winds shifted to the west today and it rained for a while. Humidity also went up and temps dropped today. Smoke and ash has been really bad here.

Meanwhile I have been watering like mad and I harvested the Swiss Lebby sativa pheno and she is nice and sticky. Trichomes are milky have not turned yet. That is the way I like them. Week 9 of flowering. Clear headed high, reminds me of the blonde hashish from Lebanon. Lots if seeds from this gal. Amusing how far the pollen traveled. I pollinated the lower 4 branches which are heavily seeded, but there are random seeds on all the colas. Most are ripe, solid dark green or green and black striped and popping out of their jackets. I am also pollinating the RSC Lebby indica pheno with the same RSC Lebby sativa pheno male. I have 15 vials of pollen from him now in the freezer. It is amazing how much pollen a small male plant can pump out. Enough for 10 full size females... from a purposely stunted runt!

Awesome, at least you are not in south Florida eh? I am finishing the Michoacan, which is my current favorite smoke btw, Colombian Gold '72 and a Mextiza or Michoacan, got them mixed up.

Do you have pics of those lebanese? I would love to see one.

I harvested the sativa before taking a photo of the whole plant. It was just so smoky with the fires outside. Here is a box of colas that I took from it 2 days ago. I dunked them in water to get the ash off of them before drying. I trim the fan leaves when I harvest and trim the sugar leaves down to where I see trichomes. I will trim these down further when they are dry and I start to cure them in paper bags. I have so much weed I do not process the shake and trim for hash any more. I will probably have between a quarter and half pound of these sativa buds when they are cured, less the seeds.

Teens from Washington with fireworks. The Columbia Gorge is a national treasure, going up in flames with a lot of peoples' houses and livelihood, because of some 15 year old shithead idiots wanted a laugh? I bet they are not laughing now.

Yes, not in south Florida or Houston. I lived in Daytona Beach when I was a kid though. We could use that rain here now! It actually rained for a while here today, and cooled off a lot. West winds blew the smoke out. Of course now Hood River will be threatened by the fire moving east with the winds. They are setting back fires around here as fast as they can. And there has been a lot of logging around me so we have a better buffer than they do in the gorge, where they cannot log at all. Which of course is a huge mistake in situations like these. If the fire breaks into the Bull Run Watershed, it will be a massive disaster. They cannot log in there either. Also a mistake.
