Organics - Round 2 - Fresh Start!

oh and also, nobody answered my question about the lights!!!

When should I start kicking up the lights in there??? right now it is at 4 x 6500 @ 26w

And

Should I plug in a 2700K or just keep it at 6500K for the veg stage?!?!?

I cant see a problem with mixing the 2 Kelvins up iv read elsewere this is good practice and can increase grow dramaticly..

Adding more Lumens always gets :thumb: from me!

Your girls have been growing for a bit now so they should be fine with the added light. as for mixing them, Some say it is good to do a mix as long as your mix leans towards the spectrum that is required for each stage. So in veg you will wanna lean towards the Daylights which are closer to the blue side and have a few warms mixed in with them. and when switching to flower, you will wanna lean towards the cool to get closer to the red spectrum of light. as long as the mix is within 80-20 or 60-40 you would be good to go.

Hope that helps if it makes sense.

Actually cool implies more blue, warm implies more red......2700 K is for flower, 5000 K and 6500K is for veg, but a mix as stated above is good.:high-five:

Any addition of PAR will be helpful. Red and Blue light excite different electrons in different orbitals in chlorophyll molecules. These chlorophyll loses the electron and are super strong oxidizer and split water into protons and oxygen by taking an electron from the water. Not gonna go into this too deeply but the point is that any light, whether blue or red PAR will contribute to photosynthesis and increase growth rates. Efficiency is another issue and quality of light is as well. More PAR = more growth. I have grown some of the best i have ever grown under a 400 MH all the way through :)

Guess what I did!!!

hehe!!!

because I have never done either 1 of these methods, I decided to see the different effect of them myself, after doing LST to a plant outdoors, I have learned never do it to a full life plant outdoors, plant later in the season for outdoor LST plants or you will get fluffy buds, nice colas, but fluffy buds!!! I have also grown a plant straight up and out, so now its time to see these methods in play!!! the last thing I know of is to try my hand at supercropping!!!

now with the FIM, did I do that right??? I cut off about 80% of the growth...

:peacetwo:

EDIT: and no posting that picture of the Topping vs. FIMming please!! I have already seen it!!! and I dont wanna see it again... Thanks

Since I have never done a FIM I can't say, but you ruined it for me with the edit I was going to post that pic for you. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Any way they look great + reps to you for trying something new, and kickin a$$ with BPN.

Nice work astoner that looks spot on new fans from the fim job will be a little deformed and have the ends cut off this will grow out and normal growth will continue as normal.

Its kinda a lucky dip beacuse i have FIM'd many times and come out with 3 nodes and also 5 nodes all level canapy seen some with 7 nodes!

Ladies all looking realy healthy bro BPN are killing it over here!

+Rep from me 2

Yeah the cool are blue but they also consider the daylight ones to be one the cool or blue spectrum. Either way it works. Thanks for the correction:thumb:

Thanks HMG!!! BPN is doing what they said it would!!! it's so fun to learn something new!!! especially with cannabis!!! well im glad you read the edit!!! LOL I have seen that picture so many times, and I was still confused with the way to cut it!!!

DO IT!!! my god, I did FF on my Afgoo while it was in veg and I did it maybe 3 weeks into flower, then my package showed up and I started using it on them and it made my nugs bulge out nice and fat!!! I would do it again!!!

Gotta love the UVs you don't get from HPS.....MH is underrated:thumb:

Hi Astonr -

Looking good! I like that you're trying your hand at FIM and topping. I did a couple of FIM cuts on my current grow, but gave up on it and just topped them normally, as I had so many new things going on, I needed to simplify somewhere. I'll probably give it another shot next go 'round, but curious as heck to see how yours turns out.

:goodluck: and hope you are well!

Whats good X!!!

Yea I have to see the results in the difference myself, I asked what the differences are as far as yield and got some feedback, but I want to see my own results!!! Thanks for the encouraging words!!!

Hey Astonr, how's it going man? Sorry jumped on a bit late, but only just seen your journal and you grow is very similar to mine, so had to come check yours and follow along see how this organic grow goes for you.

Im using the same, my own super soil mix lol organic nutes and cfl lighting. We also have the same size plants and 2 of them. Going to be good to watch yours bro. They looking really good, well done. Just topped mine as well, both should be good to watch. My journal is linked at the bottom.

Good luck man, Peace. :peace:

Whats good JBC!!!

Glad you could stop by!!! that is totally awesome, we both have it going at around the same times!!! I will be over in a click to check out what you got growin on over there!!!

:peacetwo:

so I looked in on the ladies today when i kicked on the lights, and I am noticing that GDP is starting to yellow on the bottom, so I guess I am going to have to up her Nitrogen nutes!!! other than that, everything is growing great here!!! I think I might have found the issue that I was having with the other 3 girls that are now outside. I think my probelm was with the fans!!! I had them on 24/7, I don't think they were getting enough CO2... the exhaust was always on and the intake was always on. Now I turn on the intake for 6 hours turn them off for 2, at turn off i kick on the exhuast for about 5 minutes and pull out the air out, then after the 2 hours I kick the fan back on til lights out, then for those 6 hours of lights out, fans are off!!! 1 day I forgot to shut the fan off and she started getting a copper spot on her just like the other girls did!!! so thats my thoughts on that so far!!!

:peacetwo:

It sucks that you are having some environment issues but I'm sure you will sort that out. I am hoping you get some pics up soon cause it has been well over a week and we haven't seen anything! They must have gotten big since then.

I'm only guessing things have been pretty busy for you lately. Can't wait to see how things are coming along.:thumb:
