OldMedMan's First Grow Couchlock 2009

G'day mate, Joanne reminds me of a girl i used to live with. Slow as a wet week.
I have also used this method of giving them a bit of extra dark with good results. Looks like she's getting a little closer. If you don't get a result with a bit of extra night give her 36 hrs of dark in a cupboard or something and see what happens. It might frighten her into finishing:rofl:

Hi groover :surf:
That's slow. ;)
Sometimes I wonder where our minds go. Something right in front of me and I couldn't see it at all, especially since I did everything I could to keep my Cabs lightproof. :surf:
Guess that's why we improve with each grow. :peace:
Hope all is well in the land of oz. :surf:

Don't worry buddy. We were all a bit slow on that one except for Screwnuts so + rep to him if I can.:peace:

Right on that one Mate. I already gave him some, but I'll make sure. What's bad it's been that way ever since I moved them outside.:rofl:

Shit, I missed you, you ol fart! lol, I just got in this morning, sort of a short story but a long time away from home. I managed to get help to keep the grow alive and to my surprise they are all Alive! I have lots to catch up with so I'll be on all day, except for an hour or two to go take care of some shit. But I am so happy to see you all again, it's so much like home here!

Hey sisco Welcome home :welcome:
I was getting a bit worried about you Buddy. :surf:
I missed you too. 420 is home to us all. :ganjamon:

Hi Buddy The saga of Joanne continues.:ganjamon:
Man, 4 kids and you and one computer, get a ticket for a turn.:slide::slide:
Sounds like you are describing your self wingman in my eyes Bro. You do the same things I do and with much more class.:yummy:

I'm looking forward to that day on the beach. I will bring the best couchlock that I can find and will we relax, laugh, and watch the world go by. Damn, that sounds good.:adore:

Could not get any better, good friends, good smoke, and a warm friendly tropical locale. I will be looking forward to this one day. Yeah 4 kids and their friends it's a busy day, everyday. People always seem amazed I do it alone but I think the kids are better for it. BTW I have 2 PC's and wifi but still never get on unless it's 3am. As for Class, you have plenty to go around and those observations are all you.:thankyou:I have always said you do not get to where we are by falling off a Watermelon Wagon or Turnip Truck!

Welcome back sisco ;):cheertwo:

Just wondering, if you put something over your beautiful plant and deprive it from that lovely natural sun, would it not stop the plant from growing and developing naturally. It seems to me that in the end it would be better to let her finish in her own time and absorb all that lovely natural sunlight. It may just be my uninformed newbie mind. Would love to hear all your guys thoughts on this and the theory behind covering her up....

I think they were talking about covering during the night hours only...

I have heard or read of putting it in darkness for a week after flushing for extra stress before chopping.

High Sonzor. They just want to cover it for the 12 hours that would be it's night time. Where I live if you want buds you have to cloak your plans at 9PM then uncloak at 9AM by July1 to have them finish by the end of Aug. It's the middle of Aug before the sun is at 12/12 and we've had killer frost by then so it's that or a lot of leaf!

That's why I want to get some auto-flower strains so I can do some guerrilla growing outdoors this summer. Those 20 hour days ought to get me some decent plants.

C'ya.

:peace:

LabRat I missed it too man.:smokin2: Soon as I read it from Screwnuts I went Duh! I knew it, but did not think of it. Glad Screwnuts did.

That's why we do journals, more than one person working on a problem. :ganjamon: Or recognizing a problem. Gotta love 420.:yummy:

you read it from me a few days ago OMM. I've seen strain descriptions on a couple of different seedhouses that discussed lighting as minimal as 8 hours to force finishing on a strain that they claim will flower forever if not forced. They actually stated that lights off for an extended period(2 weeks) could be necessary.

And here is a pic of Oldskool's fish hook!

You got it Tiger.....that's the very one.......How cool is that?

Where is that old bugger at? Hey OldSkoool, where you at???:grinjoint::grinjoint:

Hi wingman Actually your doing something for your kids that most kids don't get in these times. A parent at home and individual attention and proof that their Dad loves them. Of course you get the pleasure of actually watching them grow up.:clap:

Watermelon Wagon? Close enough, I stoled a few melons in my day.:grinjoint:
When I was 16 I lived out in the country and there were big watermelon farms all around. My girl friend and I were creeping up in high weeds one night in a watermelon patch and I was trying to tell her to watch out for the man's truck. To late! I heard a thunk. She had walked in to it. I grabbed her hand and started running. Luckily, she had woken the guy up! We were almost to the car and our waiting friends had the door open. Bang! Buckshot whizzing past, friends laughing their ass off, as we took off.:rofl:

Amazing what we do for our girl friends, I don't even like watermelon.:smokin2:

High LabRat Now that's interesting. My girl gets about 7 hours of direct sun and then indirect light for about 5 hours. Hmmmm:grinjoint:

Damn Mmmmick you sure did. Post #1673. My apologies to you. :grinjoint:
OMM had his head in the wrong place and didn't get what you were saying.:smokin2: I actually remember thinking "why is he telling me this?"
Must of been a couchlock time for me. Sorry Buddy. Sometimes you have to slap me up side my head to wake me up.

I would love to put her in a dark place for a while, but have no where to do it. I did cover her last night, but my patience is finally running out with her and I will probably chop her down in the next week or so. Her lower buds are almost ready now.
Once again my apologies. :peace:

Did the same stuff with strawberries and cherries! LOL

Still have an itchy spot in my right ass cheek.

no biggie, and no apologies necessary.I've had those senior(stoner) moments too, lol.

I blame Tad.heheh

I'm sure you've mentioned her genetics, but for the life of me, I can't remember. Maybe got some Northern varieties in her that need a sincere change in daylight hours to finish. Wish I could remember what strain I read about that needed an hour day to finish. I think I recall the seedbank. gonna have a look for curiousities sake.
I've seen some great examples of patience in a few grows on 420, I've yet to discover if I can do that. Strange she is ripening from the bottom. Some of them just gotta be different. She is looking very good, tho.

"I would love to put her in a dark place for a while, but have no where to do it." lol I've thought that very thought but not since I became single.

It amazes me to say I found it.

"The Doggies Nuts Seeds White Widow #1 is the most potent cannabis on Earth and is named for the abundance of trichomes, giving the plant a whitish tint. It is also one of the more powerful strains of marijuana (alongside AK-47 and Afghan Kush) with a very high 20%-25% THC content.
White Widow #1 original cannabis seeds are (60%/40%) indica/sativa cross-strain and is best suited to indoor cannabis cultivation. Our original seeds grow as high as 35-80 cm with the yield up to 450 gr per m2. It's suggested to flower (12 hour light) this marijuana variety for 8 weeks, but 10 weeks will really give you the crystals you are after. Try to turn the lights off altogether the final 2 weeks of the flowering cycle- or at least down to 8 hours. This keeps the flowers from re-growth and stresses the plant into giving up its last drop of goodness as crystal to protect the flower! The buds have so much THC on them that it is hard to see them at all."
