Oh No - It's A Green Hole! - Reverse Thrusters! - Dammit - Too Late!

PotChimp that was a really awesome experiment. You've just proven that cuttings can survive long enough to be mailed around within the average country. Sometime, if I think of any way to add to the experiment I'd like to try working on it a bit more and adding air(?) and maybe light (?) to the box somehow. No real reason for me to want to do this except curiosity, and curiosity killed the cutting...

That Thai Stick plant seems a bit fragile. Like the Mama Thai and I guess sativas in general (?) doesn't like much Lst and supercropping because I keep breaking it! It's all bandaged up now with four big splints on it, like a hospital patient in after a major accident. Maybe I'll try feeding it some silicon and see if that helps. Haven't found the time to start using that silicon yet but it's supposed to make stems very strong. Could be counterproductive when trying to bend it into a scrog I suppose.

Break em' then tape em'. :)

Break em' then tape em'. :)

Ha ha yeah the breaks don't worry me much- though some of them were pretty bad. Busted completed and just tied together with a shred of skin on one side. I never get too excited about accidently trashing my plants and breaking branches and such.
Water under the bridge...
Lots of stuff in the water...
Branches. Plants. Ex girlfriends. My misspent youth...
Onwards and upwards, mateys!

Congrats on the award Weaselcracker! Awesome!

Thanks Kodiak. Definitely a lovely honor. I was just doing what comes naturally. I wasn't trying to get MOTM.
But- I've been looking at the POTM contest -and that seems like an amazing challenge. Incredible plants in there every month. Gives us something to strive towards

You actually have some space in your veg room! ...for now... I'm envisioning it full of Malawi soon though!

I'm interested in seeing how the Silicon works out for you. I got some the other day and have been adding it since my C99 likes to stretch a lot and has thin, wispy branches that can't support the weight of big buds. It might do your PC/salad patch some good!

hey Jojo, that picture in your avatar reminds me of Jayce and the Wheeled warriors. Kind of looks like a monster mind, specifically Terror Tank haha
Anyone that has seen that show will understand haha

I just keep forgetting to use it. Next watering it goes in. Yes I opened the package this morn and tossed three Malawi seeds into an icecream bucket with some damp paper towel in the bottom- lid on, in a warm room. I'll check whenever I'm back home, lol. Malawi sounds very interesting. Though Conradino's review sorta cooled my enthusiasm a little - saying it's so so speedy and all...
If I start growing these big willow tree sativa vines with wispy little buds I won't have to listen to you guys freaking me out and making me paranoid talking about how my grow is 'so big!' and I have 'so much bud!'. I'll be lucky if I can see any buds through the stems and foliage and nanners. I'll be too paranoid and sketched out on speed ganja to post anyway.

I had it in a box in the dark the whole time and it was pretty cool in the area.

:420:
Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! By George I think he's done it. Do you need my address to properly complete your experiment? :goodjob: Chimp.

I just keep forgetting to use it.
If I had that problem I'd be alright Weasel but then again if I had that problem I wouldn't have it. :laughtwo:

Hey weasel looking good over here. I was wondering if you were gonna ever update again lol take it easy bud.

Yeah I get to wondering that myself sometimes... If you read the fine print at the beginning of the journal you'll see the disclaimer there absolving me of all updating responsibilities due to disturbances in the fabric of space time which, while incapable of exerting enough force to permanently overcome the intense gravitational pull of the Green Hole, which appears to have me forever in its orbit, nonetheless cause my orbit to form an eccentric spiraling motion at times completely out of any control of any pitiful forces I exert on it and, sadly, leave my lonely personal spacecraft not only greatly influenced by many other objects- mainly space junk, but also vulnerable to many anomalous features of the multiverse such as the Brown Hole which apparently is a recurring formation in this arm of the galaxy, appearing around this time of year and exerting its insidious and ever stronger depressive force on the local life forms leading to many strange effects which have them constantly circling into my personal flight path causing me no end of inconvenience and making it even harder to properly align my thrusters back in the direction of the peaceful Green Hole, and also, I have to admit, leaving me constantly searching for an alternate route or wormhole through which I might be able to jet back into its happy refuge while, meanwhile, following a sort of spiraling, twisting, meandering path caused by having to dodge all this crap which is hurtling towards me at great speed.

WC's Star Trek grow. :)

Run-on sentence...

Lol I'm just being an ass because I don't have anything articulate to add.

Heya weasy,, I see you the man/woman this month. Wrll done indeef. Perty sure you is a fella but I say man/woman for peace. Cheers you pal, at work, I will check out your journal later now that I am subbed

Hey Nivek. I'm so happy to see you here! I've missed you and your journal. I don't know if you noticed but members disappear a lot around here and it's nice to see them not disappear, with the occasional exception. I am, I guess, what you would call a man. Not a man/woman not that I have anything against man/womans.

Finally caught up here. I've been under the weather and haven't been feeling like typing more than I have to lately. I think your brown hole has wandered into my orbit too. :)

Had to get up at the ungodly hour of 7am to attend an appeal hearing for my disability. Got a positive vibe about it and hoping for approval. They owe me up to 2 1/2 years of back payments so if I get approved I see new grow room goodies in my future for Xmas! Be up to a month before I find out for sure and maybe a bit longer before I see any coin but have as many digits crosse as I can and still type. lol

I use silica from the time they are sprouts WC. I used to use some cheap stuff and it said on the bottle to add it first to your water then adjust the pH. The pH would go up to 10 and needed a fair amount of pH down to get it to around 7 where I would add all my other nutes then check the pH again and make any final adjustments. I got AN's Rhino Skin the last time and it seems to go in fine without any wild swings in pH. Almost out of that after 4 years so it's top of my wish list. I've never had PM or bud rot to any extent so I think it's a good additive to have. Especially with my growing in DWC with RO water and soilless too as there isn't likely any silica in either scenario.

Real dirt usually has adequate Si naturally so it's not such a big deal but I was reading recently that there is no real toxic level so you can't really do any wrong to your plants by using it. I think it's worth using but it still doesn't make stems strong enough to support the massive colas that most of the good strains can produce. It does make them tougher so they resist cracking when bent a bit too much. I find mine just seem to crush leaving the fibers intact tho the skin does break sometimes. Rolling the stem hard between your fingers before bending seems to help. You can feel the core "give" and then they bend pretty easy.
