OG Kush From Seed RSQ

Week 6 of flower on this grow. Things are stabilizing I think. There is still some crispiness on the fan leaves, but I'm afraid to take any more off the plants. They got fed for the first time since I've been home and now I'll just have to wait and see how they handle it. There didn't seem to be any real growth or change this past week, which considering is probably a good thing. Hopefully they start to put on some weight again now that they are fed and the soil is hydrated again.

Week seven, the plants are in a lot better shape than a few weeks ago. I can start to see trichome production happening, and what I hop is the buds fattening up.

Theres still a bunch of crispy leaves, but at this point I think I'll just leave them the way they are and let them fall off naturally.

We've hit the start of week 8 of flower on this grow. I've gotten the plants fully back on track now and the trichome production is ramping up on both plants. It's really making me wish I hadn't had the dry out issue because I have a feeling these would have been amazing without all the stress I put them through. At least they are pulling through though. I wish I could say they were pretty, but with all the crispy/curling yellow leaves I just can't, but frosty that is something I can call them with confidence. The buds are starting to plump up but I still have a ton of white pistils, I'm figuring at least another four weeks on this grow.

This grow has been a bit of a roller coaster but I'm excited to see how it finishes up.

Take care of them to the end buddy.
It’ll be well worth it.
Hope your doing well. :passitleft:

Thanks Bill! I'll do my best with them. I can already see how resilient this plant is. It's inspiring honestly

We are at the start of week nine of flower for this grow. This grow is stable at this point and just cruising along. I did a bit of leaf removal from both plants. I grabbed any leaves that were crispy/yellowing and could be easily pulled off the plants. I removed a bunch of leaves but there were some crunchy ones that still were holding on so I left them. One of the plants somehow during the growing/training phase ended up with all her branches on one side of the plant, in kind of a windswept bonsai style. It looked really cool, but was terrible for support and balance of the plants. I was having about half of the branches leaning over and laying on each other. To try and fix this I got some bamboo stakes and tied up the flopping branches. The plant looks a lot better balanced now, it lost its'd bonsai flair though 😢 .
I'm starting to see more frost on both plants, and some of the pistils are turning orange. Going through the plants yesterday my fingers got pretty sticky, there wasn't a ton of smell, but there was still a hint of typical weed smell. Onto pictures.

Sorry for my photo quality, i'm using my phone and still trying to figure out angles/zoom levels to give you guys the best mix of full plant views and close up shots.

Man the later parts of grows where the plants are basically on auto pilot are the worst for me. I get so impatient to have something to do on the plants again that I start checking them multiple times a day. With week nine of flower coming to a close in a couple of days I find myself in that position now. The pistils are turning orange and I'm seeing more frost. Most of the trichomes are still clear though, i do see some amber on sugar leaves but I know that's a false positive. The data sheet on this og kush says flower time is 7-9 weeks, I know that's sales tactic and this plant is stunted because of the dry out but I feel like I am getting closer to harvest. I do wonder if my choice to start counting flower time from the 12/12 split and not from when I see pistils has an effect on my timing estimates.🤔 I'm hoping a week or two left any more than two weeks and I'll get worried that this grow might collide with my purple experiment and compete for drying space. That is probably a worry that isn't realistic but with limited drying space its always on my mind.

Week 10 of flower is starting today for this grow. The plants look frosty, and have a nice gas smell to them when I rub against them. I pulled some more dead leaves, but at this point I think I'll leave everything alone until I chop. Pistils are turning orange but there are still some new white ones popping out. I'm starting to check trichs, and there are some amber ones on lower bud sites, but I think those are on sugar leaves and not the buds themselves. I'm still not the best at knowing when to harvest, coupled with the fact that this is a photoperiod run and my last one was auto flower, they seem to mature differently. I am starting to reconsider my worry from my last post though, I think these will finish up this week or next, and the closest plant in the purple experiment is my purple punch that has at least three weeks left on it.
On to photos now:

What do you guys think about my time estimates? Also how can I improve my pictures? Like I said a few posts ago I'm still struggling to find the best ways to show the whole plants but also give details. Thanks for stopping by this week!

Three weeks seems a reasonable estimate. :Namaste:
Here is an easy way to tell.
When flowering is finished she will stop eating.
If they are draining the pots they are still flowering and building for you.
Stop removing leaves also.
Let dead ones fail off.
Especially fans, they are needed.
So when your pots take a week to drain you know it's time to check trics.

perfect, thanks for the information Bill! They both are still drinking a gallon twice a week so I guess it would seem they are still working through flowering

When you have foxtails it can be difficult to tell for sure.
But guaranteed if they are eating that much they are still flowering. :high-five:

Is that what the new white pistils are? Foxtails? I could tell on my last grow that the plant was foxtailing pretty bad, but this one didn't seem like it was, at least to my eyes. Do you see something I don't or do I just not truly know what foxtails look like?

I was just taking your word for it.
You said pistils were turning orange.
Yet she was throwing new white pistils.
Pistils typically form at the beginning of flowering.
If new white pistils form mid flower it can confuse the finishing date. :Namaste:

Going back to my pictures and comparing my shots from last week until now I may have been mistaken about new pistils. It might just look that way because some of the surrounding ones have turned orange. The buds all have a typical shape and structure to them with no random off shoots, so I dont think I'm getting fox tails. Sorry if I was confusing.

No worries my friend :Namaste:
The harvest info still applies.

these plants are still drinking, so I guess they are still going lol. I always underestimate the time plants take to finish up. They are looking like they are getting close though, the leaves on the lower parts of the plants are starting to yellow naturally so I'm thinking that the plant is starting to use nutrients it has stored.

Thanks for coming around!

Friday marked the start of week 11 of flower for this grow. We're just waiting for this one to finish up at this point. I've been watering with ph'd water and the plants keep on drinking, they were almost dry again already today so there is still some time left. I'm hoping we're down to the last week/week and a half. I want to get these plants into drying before my purple tent starts making moves, which should also be in a few weeks. Even with the delay I didn't think this grow would flower for 12 weeks or more but here we are. The buds are looking good and feeling dense, the plants are frosty and have a pungent smell to them, I'm hoping this will be a good smoke. No real idea what the weight will be, I was pretty close to my estimates on my last two plants, but these are hard to judge. I'd love some speculation though, let me know you're final weight predictions!

I don't remember which plant these trich shots came from, but we can just say its one of each lol

Thanks for stopping by this week!

Today starts week twelve of flower for this grow. 74 days from the first pistils at this point I just want these plants to be finished lol 🥲 The plants smell great, trichome production is a bit iffy in the pictures, in person the plants look pretty frosty. They are still drinking, and still have a bunch of white pistils all over the buds. I'm waiting for a stand to house my usb microscope. I'm hoping that with the added stability I'll be able to get good trich shots finally. I feel like knowing when to harvest is still one of my biggest weak points in growing. While doing this weeks maintenance on these plants I realized this is the first photoperiod grow that I have successfully brought all the way to harvest that had a full veg and flower period. All my other photoperiod grows were from clone and I went straight into 12/12, so thats an exciting milestone. Here are some pictures, someone please tell me I can chop these this week 🙏

Thanks for stopping by this week!

At least one of these plants is coming down tomorrow. The plant with one support stick has a bunch of amber trichs everywhere so I'm going to take it down and start the drying process. I'll have to check the other plant but I think that one has a day or two left on it. I'll be back with pictures tomorrow

One of these girls came down today, the other one has at least a week left. Her branches were all flopped over with heavy looking buds.

I did a rough wet trim to try and get rid of as much of the dead leaves as I could. I cut the plant in half to hang her

My conditions aren't great at the moment but I have an ac unit in the room that this closet is in, and I can bring in a humidifier if I need to. Ignore the dirty pieces cleaning day is coming lol. What are your guesses on dry weight? I'm thinking around 4 ounces.

I'll keep you guys posted on the second plant. Thanks for hanging out!
