OG Kush From Seed RSQ

We are at week 13 of flower for the other OG kush plant in this tent. She still has so many white pistils its a bit crazy to me, but she has a life expectance now. I am going away for the weekend next Friday, so I don't want to cut this plant before that and risk hanging it while I'm not home, so it will be cut on Monday 11/11, giving this plant 91 days of flower for this one. I'm hoping thats enough time for some of the pistils to turn and the trichs to ripen a bit more.
Here she is:

The other plant is hanging to dry, my drying space conditions are about 72 degrees F and around 50% humidity, Im thinking about bringing a humidifier into the room, but I havent decided yet. What do you guys think, is it worth moving a humidifier into the room?
Thanks for stopping by!

I wouldn’t :Namaste:
Spraying moisture into the air around buds can cause issues IME.
50% rh. isn’t perfect but not terrible either.
Just keep putting a few buds into a jar with a hydrometer to test rh.
They will dry quickly and go past prime in a hurry.
Good work my friend.

Thanks Bill!:Namaste:
Well the buds are hanging in a closet I was going to put the humidifier in the room itself that the closet is in. I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Drying is the next thing I really need to nail down. I can't really dry in the room I grow in, its too hot and too dry down there. The closet I'm currently drying in is ok but as you can see the conditions arent optimal, and the space isnt that big. How/where do you guys dry?

I have a drying room but a closet works perfect.
Fresh buds bump up room rh.
Keep the door closed at all times to increase rh in the closet.
I open the drying room door until room rh hits 62%.
Then I keep it closed to slow drying.
When I'm close I put a couple buds in a jar with a hygrometer for testing.
Once the jarred testers sit below 67 I jar them.
I aim for 62% but with the volume I jar anywhere below 67.
Actually I'm using Grove Bags now, beats burping a 100 jars.
Great upgrade " Grove Bags"
Here is my drying room.

I'm in grove bags at this point as well, they are great. Your drying room is great! I wish I had that type of space
It has a 12’ ceiling.
Was going to be a grow room until the fire made me change plans.
That’s why I built VIVOHUT.
No chance of a house fire.
Did you check the batteries in your smoke detector?

Lol funny you should mention that, all my smoke detectors started beeping in the last couple of day for the batteries to be replaced, so they are all in working order now. Thanks for looking out though! 🙏

closet RH is around 39%, the humidity levels are rough. I'm watching the buds, but I hope they dont dry out too fast. I'm not sure how to get the humidity up, temps are still around 72F

The harvested plant was trimmed and bagged today. She was starting to feel a bit crispy to the touch and my humidity levels were low and hard to keep in a good range so I trimmed her. Currently the curing buds are sitting in a grove bag at about 65% humidity. I didn't get a lot of pictures but the bud structure is way better than my last two grows, she smells great, earthy with a hint of lemon.

72 grams of nice to medium sized buds, I did keep the popcorn nugs as well, I don't mind them.
The other plant will be coming down next week I think and will hang for as long as I can keep it up.

OG Kush plant two has been taken down today. She basically had to get wet trimmed due to the amount of dead material on her. She's currently hanging in my drying closet, I'm hoping she'll stay drying until I get home on Sunday as I'm going out of town tomorrow morning. I'll just have to wait and see, it should be fine though the other plant took about 6 days to dry, and this one is bigger with more moisture so it should be fine.

There is still some dead leaf material on the plant that I'm hoping wont cause me problems. Is leaving all the dead leaves on the plant something I should be doing, or should I be taking them off the plant as they die before harvest?

Up to you really. If they're brown and dry they aren't doing anything beneficial for you.

I'm more worried about them being harmful/mold starters for the plant in the dry phase. I know everyone hates trimming, but it really gets to me sometimes and I get lazy about it. I just want to make sure I wasn't hurting my chances of coming through the dry without mold

Unless it's pretty humid where you are they shouldn't harm anything.
If you're really worried increasing the airflow where they're drying would help prevent mold, just don't point any fans directly at them.

Currently too humid is not a problem for me, the humidity in the drying closet is around 45-50% currently sitting at 47% so if thats the case I wont worry. I've been overly concerned with mold during drying since I dont have a stable environment.

OG Kush plant two has finished drying and is in a grove bag for curing. 82 grams of dried weight from this plant, giving me 153 grams (5.46 oz) dried and curing bud total from the tent. This is well under 1g/watt of power since I flowered this tent with a 300 watt light but this grow had problems from the start so I'm still calling it a win. Plus its the first seed to harvest photoperiod grow I've been able to complete successfully. The second plant dried a bit too much though and its kind of crispy in the grove bag, sitting at 39% humidity :yikes:...I'll probably roll up most of it to be honest.
Thanks for hanging out with me on this grow, and for all the knowledge shared! Time to take a week or two, clean the tent and get ready for hulkberry/royal haze round 2 :ganjamon::yummy::ganjamon: Hope to see you guys there!

og kush plant 2 has been curing for almost a week, but I have concerns. The hydrometer in the bag reads 42% humidity, and I get none of the "weed" smell I get out of og kush 1, I'm worried it dried too fast and won't be any good to smoke. Can I press it for rosin? Or do something with it, I'd hate for 2.5 ounces to just be trash, but I'm not sure its going to be good smoke. I know it has trichomes, just no smell. Any and all advise is welcome.

Unfortunately it's overdried :Namaste:
I dry mine slowly and put it in jars or Grove Bags at 62/66 rh.
If you remove too much moisture it can't cure properly.

I figured thats what happened. Can I do anything with the flower or is it ruined and a loss?
