Noob's First Grow: Indoor, Coco, 4 Plants

Welcome Slide! Glad to have you along. We are in the home stretch on this grow. Three photoperiod gals are at DAY 61 from pistils today, so midway through week 9. Just waiting for each of them to show almost all cloudy trichs, with a just a touch of clear and/or amber. I keep thinking it is "just a few more days" but they have a different timetable in mind! :)

The nasty little spot surprised me, as I thought I had environment in good shape. Fortunately, was fairly small area on one plant, just hoping it doesn't spread.

If you have any comments/suggestions/questions, please chime in. Thanks for stopping by!

Home stretch! One of the best feelings out of many great things this hobby gives. :thumb:

Haha yeah my Dark Angel had a different plan in mind, it tipped over on me from the weight of the buds. I was by my self and was forced to cut her down a week earlier then the 7 week time frame. So it was chopped down before I got to that point. Like you said, they had their own timetable in mind lol. My Blue Cookie was chopped down three weeks earlier then the requested time. It should have went longer, but I cut her down due to leaves on the bud we’re turning brown and dying. So I cut her down to save her harvest. The trichs were mainly cloudy with only a few clear and a few Amber. Now I seam to be rambling, I tend to do that :laughtwo:

I saw you updated and said the rot hasn’t spread so that’s great to hear!! :yahoo:

I will definitely drop back in:ciao::goof:

Great close ups:cheer:

Thanks Mr. Slider! I guess the plants all have their own plans, and we're just along for the ride. :)

Yes, happy that I did not find any new signs of rot. I have turned the dehumidifier to max, and the oscillating fans as well. Not much more that I can do, but fingers-crossed at least 1-2 of the 3 girls will come down this coming weekend.

Bummer that you had to cut your grow short, but at least you got some goodies at the end.

Ramble away here any time...

Lol Mr.Slider haven’t heard that one yet :laughtwo:

Sorry I started messaging back yesterday I must have forgot and not sent it. It was still sitting in the text box today hahah.

Weird that the rot happened it sounds like you have adequate air flow.

Great feeling knowing the day is approaching that your going to chop em down :thumb:

Yeah i got a great yield with great smoke from my dark Angel, very pleased with her.

There’s a shot of my final yield

Checked out the three photo gals this evening, and made the call that they were ready. I've read lots of conflicting points of view on "flushing" and have decided not to go that route. They got their regular rations of nute formula today (several waterings over the 12-hour lights-on period, as has been the case for the past month or more). Got some good run-off, which I vac'd up.

Lights will go off in a couple of hours, and I've pulled the pin on the timer so the lights don't come back on. I'm going to let them sit in darkness for 48-72 hours. I will keep giving them diluted nute formula during that period, but no lights. My hope is that there will be one last hurrah of trich formation. The dehumidifier is running full power, as are all the oscillating fans, and the extraction fan. Humidity was reading 41% just now.

Monday they will get the axe.

I'll take some pics of the process when the blade swings. Have a good sleep, ladies!

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!

Have a great weekend of sweet anticipation Bard!

Thanks Shed! It has been a bit of a longer haul than I thought it would be, so excited to get these gals down and start a new adventure. Can't lie, though, I'll be peeking in on them over the weekend. Hope you are doing great.

Good afternoon, everyone,

Well, I have a new appreciation for when you guys say that trimming is a pain in the butt. I was happy to harvest one of the girls today, but man it is fussy and time-consuming work. Sticky fingers and pruning sheers get annoying real quick too. :)

I started with the biggest girl, my Trainwreck. Today is DAY 146 since germination, and she spent 67 days in flower, so a bit over 8 weeks. It was a really nice day, so I did the harvest on the back patio. Still lots of white pistils, but the trichs are almost all cloudy, and even some amber, about 5-10%. Very few clears left.

Not too sure about my "trim job" - removed all the fan leaves, and most of the sugar leaves (they will go into oil infusion).

680 grams (24 oz) right now. Going to use the "low and slow" drying technique for 5-7 days. I will need to re-arrange them on the tray a couple of times a day for the first bit, as they are really dense and packed pretty tight. Best I could do given the space I have to work with. Guessing/hoping I will end up with 5 oz when she is down to 62% moisture? Then will let her mellow and cure for several weeks.

Next up (maybe later this evening, but probably tomorrow) are the GSC and the Green Crack. The Green Crack smells awesome - like lemon candy!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Congrats on a great harvest!

Looks like the train came off the rails. Nice harvest bard. Plenty of good meds for ya. Well done now quit calling yourself a noobie. Lol

If you saw my poor pathetic DDA in hempy, you would demote me back to noob real quick. It is not doing well.

But thanks, Derbs, I appreciate that. What is next step up from noob? Apprentice? Senior Noob? :)

I am excited to make gummies from the trainwreck. I am aiming for something that is a fun, energetic buzz, since I already have nice sleepy-time meds.

Sheers are cleaned up and ready tackle GSC and/or Green Crack tomorrow.

Hope that you are doing great.

Congrats on the harvest Bard, a lot of strains that foxtail will keep shooting out white pistils like that. Looks like will be some nice bud, I’ve been wanting to grow trainwreck ✌

Thanks Ghost. Yea, this one foxtailed a lot. So did the Green Crack, but not the GSC. Not sure if it was stress - the temps in the tent got a bit warm during the hot spell a couple of weeks ago. Or maybe I should have raised the lights up higher? Or maybe just genetics for those strains. Just glad they didn't hermie on me, and this one is now tucked in the fridge.

The Trainwreck and the Green Crack were both really easy to grow. The GSC was fussier. No idea what the high will be like, but they were fun to grow.
