Noob's First Grow: Indoor, Coco, 4 Plants

Great day here. Weather was really nice, and just finished up a yummy dinner - grilled steak, roasted potatoes, and sautéed peas. Homemade gummies for dessert. Will sleep well!
Sounds good

A bit to go yet. Amber's look to be on the sugar leaves. That's where they show up first.
That is something i never knew Derby. Thank you. i spend ages trying to find the right spot and with the loupe being so magnified , even a small moves causes mayhem. lol. And the fact that if i am trying to get to the end , i can be guilty of " finding the right ones to check !". Will be using that titbit now

Thanks Shed! It is nice just hanging out with them... they are quiet and smell good. I am man with simple needs.

DAY 60.743 from flip. Feel better now? :)
I used to think the same about wives !!! , 8 children and 3 marriages later , i have upped my "simple" needs to include a lot of stuff. heehee
Looks amazing in there though :welldone:

My pleasure Bard. love the grow now too. looks wicked and well cared for. great work.
Loving this run of my Barneys but rhe heat has been crazy here in uk. few more to come too. Part of that African heat wave travelling across Europe with a vengeance causing havoc. Thankfully only early flowering so the smell isnt oo bad so can run with tent open for a week or so more, hopefully !!. Glad i switched to coco for the summer now.
Enjoy your time with the ladies and dont feel bad taking them down ,they do it all for us to enjoy the tlc we showed them while alive. They would die naturally anyway !!. lol

Swap TLC for THC... good trade! :)

And this is why I just count from flip :).
Agreed! I count from flip as well!

My three photo-gals are taking their sweet time finishing up! Have had small samples from each one under the microscope, and still not ready. Oh well, each day they seem a little fatty and frostier, so I am content to wait until they decide they are ready to make the ultimate sacrifice.

On a different note, a buddy of mine is doing a big outdoor grow of some different cultivars. I wanted him to try my purple kush harvest, and so we did a swap. He gave me a huge branch from his @Barney's Farm Cookie Kush (beautiful plant) so that I could take another run at doing clones.

I'm using pretty much exactly what @Dutchman1990 spelled out in his tutorial, and really like the setup. I got 7 nice cuts from the branch, and 24 hours later, they are still standing upright and looking pretty good.

Hopefully chop-day is coming soon... I want my tent back!

Beautiful trichome shots Bard! Love the photos and that cloner is top notch! Well done pal! I’ve got my high hopes it works out great for you! Keep me posted for sure!

Green Crack as of today. I am seeing lots of cloudy: 70%+. The rest are clear. No amber that I can see here. That is the good news. The bad news is I caught a bit of bud rot. I've been keeping humidity steady in the 40-50% range, with oscillating fans blowing. But I guess it wasn't enough? It seems like it is just too damp inside the bud?

Here are the trichs today:

1852857

1852858

And here is the nasty area (I opened up the bud a bit to see inside). Yuck.

I've cut off the bud just below the infected bit. I'll give the plant (and the others) a good examination tomorrow. If the rot appears to be spreading, I'll do the harvest, cutting out the bad spots.

Hoping that I can go another few days to get more cloudy and a touch of amber.

Does that make sense, or do folks have other recommendations?

fingers crossed for you mate.

The fatter the colas the more likely they are to retain moisture, so they might need even more fans and an RH that stays closer to the 40% side. I get my fair share of bud rot but I'm outside in a pretty high RH environment.

Thanks Shed... yeah, this bud was the tallest and thickest, so what you are saying makes sense. Hoping that I can just limp through another couple of days to finish the ripening and then give her the axe. I'll turn down the dehumidifier more - thanks for flagging that.

I’m about to fire up my dehuey here pretty soon. Mine are running around 55 rh but I had to tie up the GG4. Now there’s buds laid over other buds and not much airflow. I won’t leave it that way but I’ll try to lower the rh to assist.

Thanks Magoo,

I adjusted my dehumidifier yesterday it is set as low as it will go. Was able to get RH down to 39% with lights on, and 45% when lights went off. I'll have to see what RH looks like later this morning. Fans are maxed out too. Just need to scrape by until harvest - hopefully just a few more days. Fingers crossed the rot doesn't spread. I was surprised how fast it appeared.

Hope you are able to keep your GG happy with great airflow!

Read the first page of your journal, jumped to the last page! Sorry your having rot problems with your green Crack. That’s unfortunate! :( Hopefully there was only that one bad spot!!:nomo:

If you don’t mind I’ll try to tag along from here:thumb::cheer:

Welcome Slide! Glad to have you along. We are in the home stretch on this grow. Three photoperiod gals are at DAY 61 from pistils today, so midway through week 9. Just waiting for each of them to show almost all cloudy trichs, with a just a touch of clear and/or amber. I keep thinking it is "just a few more days" but they have a different timetable in mind! :)

The nasty little spot surprised me, as I thought I had environment in good shape. Fortunately, was fairly small area on one plant, just hoping it doesn't spread.

If you have any comments/suggestions/questions, please chime in. Thanks for stopping by!

Good news... no more bud rot evident today. Whew.

Today was Trainwreck's turn under the scope. Starting to see a few ambers, lots of cloudy. But still a fair number of clear. Give it a few more days. Thinking that there might be a couple coming down this weekend.
