Nick Hardy's Big Grow 2023 Gorilla Glue Skunk 11 OG Kush Coco Peat Co2 Mars Hydro

Nice grow man!
Thanks bro!

Second timer so just learning new problems which is fine.

Looks like nute burn not to be worried about but there’s a few with some cal mag deficiency - because - I dialled it back too far to 0.5ml/L - I did the first grow at 1ml/L. Gone back to that. Half the A/B at 1ml/L and 0.16ml/L the root boost. They are having a little blast of 30 minutes with the gas about 3 hours before lights out. I’ll manually switch it off in a moment when I’ve cooled down after feeding them manually for 30 minutes and can get into bed!

NST Stress 4/10

29.4 thc ?
How did they come up with that number?
Looks great Amigo, good for you. :thumb:

They were selling it before at 28% a number likely plucked from the seed banks web page for 400. Apparently my B warrants both a higher price and THC level. Its a very new industry here!
Absolutely LOVE the display case!
Love these guys. Its quite a common style here. Rasta Bar but older German lady owns it - doesn’t smoke herself. Local couple run the dispensary. They play 70,90,90’s soft rock music from Youtube. Like the vibe.

Beat. Totally beat. Day job crazy today.

Night guys.

Thank you all.

Nick

So still not the perfection I’m looking for.

I gave them each about 300ml of aquarium water today some def N deficiency I think and this I did at the same time in the last grow. I shpuld be using N Mag for this?

To be honest looking at them I think they’re just a bit thirsty. Since transplant from 1G to 5G they haven’t kicked on like I hoped. But then no gas and I am a bit impatient! I did that to check them out and was pleasantly surprised the rootballs had packed them in 4 days. I’m going to water to run off with low nutes again probably tomorrow morning after another thorough check. Of 18 there’s two I’m mildly worried about - yellowing lower leaves still. The bulk of them still look a bit wilty and not chasing the lights like I’d like. The rest look fine. Its definitely not overwatering at this point and EC, Ph, PPM all in very safe/cautious zones for some days now.

I’ll take some photos later and post some pics before and after watering. Some need a trim and train anyway and hopefully the builders are in to do a more permanent watering system tomorrow or Monday. All the kit required is here apart from the pump which the guy is providing. I also have a new external air intake fan ready to fit.

Outdoors - SIP is sort of static really. Slow slow. Looks well enough but not growing much.

The 15G airpot guy is flourishing. She’s also had way more water which I guess gives me a clue on the indoor ones. I’m trying not to get too attached to them as I’m sure there will be a plague or something and they’ll die so better to experiment with them.

Bed time early early today. Worked all fay on other job on a Saturday which is annoying af and have more tomorrow too.

Ok these are photos, titles self explanatory.

I’m not too worried as I said earlier. Perking up day by day. Think a bit of impatience on by behalf.

Tomorrow unless anyone jumps in I’m going to give them a decent water/low nutes and a little soft cable train, trim in a few places and leave them better spaced out. Though I still can’t get the fans I want really. These seem a touch too strong for me.

Probably can put some of the rubbish fans on my new mic stands that arrived. Some don’t seem to like the air flow too much.

Hardware store on a Sunday morning for a rummage for bits to build a manifold for the watering system. I love that stuff. Need a chill session of not thinking about day job technical problems!

Watering system is going to be like this (fed from a nute tank downstairs individual plant control with simple PVC twist taps/faucets)

Those are the old drip trays I used but in fabric pots. They are a touch too small for the airpots so I bought 18 of these, they were about $5 each. They reference airpots in the listing and the dimensions look perfect. For my setup so good. Water to runoff - Test and then pour out the excess from the tray into a waste water bucket. Wheeled for easy access round/in/out the room. Love the look of them. They’re only adding 6cm to the pot height too. I have plenty height anyway.

Night everyone.

The indoor field of big AirPots looks so damn cool. So each one will go on wheels? All my ground plants are on wheels. Dig it.

Yep - nice tiled floor can shift them about at will with those cool drip trays I can test run off in, then throw in a bucket. Before I was wet vacuuming out of the plastic. That was a pain with 2 plants. With 18 yeah no thanks! Reckon until hover trays are available wheels are the answer…

Snap on off water connections too maybe. But figuring those out can wait.

They’re “in country” too which means should arrive tomorrow or Monday latest. But better it means in future I can buy from China for even less. Maybe $3. Just takes longer - say 10 days rather than 3 days.

EDIT - “dig it” hopefully not out of the mud! 😂

Sorry tired “Dad” joke!

Forgot Jordy has been occasionally been sleeping there. He slipped under the watering bit and curled up anyway. Funny as. I took it off and pushed it back to its normal spot for him 😂

Well I’ll tell you what. I don’t know if this is possible, I kind of doubt it, BUT - if it is - I have three 12-line manifold distributors. They are prizes from some of the contest wins. I’ll never use them and if I did I’d never need more than one. SO …. If you can figure out the mechanics and if it’s allowed, I would be more than happy to send you one. If it would help me clear out stuff I can’t use and assist a fellow grower. If not - win a contest! Viola - manifold!

Thanks bro! Super generous offer. But I have two the same I think! Green circles?

I’m thinking of something a little different so I can personalise each plant’s watering. The plans is 6 or 7 of each plants in there of 3 different strains each. The manifold is easy stuff for pennies. A plastic pipe cutter, a tub of PVC glue I have. Just need to pull out some connectors from the tubs of them in the hardware store (the dusty local kind - no big box store type stuff) Its very relaxing stuff for me! But maybe that’s the glue fumes 😅

In all seriousness my day job is engineering and problem solving stuff that you can’t really touch. So a dusty box of 22mm PVC connectors and visualising is bliss. Have you ever seen the movie Clerks? Old school. The guy rolling the eggs around is probably how I look! 🤣

Plus customs here whilst happy to let 50 seeds through would jump on a shipment from overseas and turn up with a made up $50 import duty payable on the door!

Ok think I have what I want but a bit expensive even from the local hardware shop so that means a China order which will take a week.

The blue PVC will either go into a manifold made of the same or if I can find my other manifolds I’ll use them as it saves space and money on adaptors.

This is the general idea though. A pack of two of the plastic connectors from Home Depot type place cost the same as three of the brass taps from family owned place (which doesn’t sell them) Crazy.

My beautiful girls fell into the hands of the “Demon Barber” 😂

Having got over my initial shock I feel like we’re ok again. I know this stage from last time.

They got watered to run off with full nutes plus some DP Total I haven’t used before. Pulled them out to water and mixing 24L in 6L bottles is a pain so amending the watering plan slightly to whatever I can get done ASAP. I can’t spend 2 hours shifting them about like that again.

Then I guess she lollipopped them? Its what she did on our first grow and gave us a fantastic yield. We did it twice. One around now before flip and one later about half way through flower. They do look kind of bare.

Think light gas back tomorrow. Flip in 4-5 days.

Long as you’re covered and it sounds like you are!

@Jon I’m def going the route you suggest - smallish circular green things with coloured inserts for flow? I have 2 of them in a box. I’ll be using the max have to use one. Someone I know here mentioned he’d read that the distribution is a bit uneven so he’s seen pictures of someone using a pressure gauge to help regulate it. As I’m putting individual taps on each of the plants its not really applicable to me - I am assuming after last time two different plants of the same strain requiring different amounts of water - this time I have 6 plants each of 3 species I am really going to have some variance and want to do all individually to run off. A bit of a PITA but nothing to lugging 6L bottles around 😅

Quick outdoor update.

SIP - Learned about 2 week stall today. 2 weeks after transplant can have a little break from growth. Look exactly like what mine is going through - looks totally happy (Crime update - the Dog says its the cat wot dunnit) apart from a bit of animal
Inflicted damage. Hopefully there’s is epic root growth happening 7 days post transplant.

Airpot Gorilla Glue outside is thriving. Drunk a lot and shooting up. My only worry is its been unseasonably windy the last few days and she is getting a bit of pounding in the evenings so been shifting her into a sheltered corner. (The Do Si Dos in sip barely moves. Thick trunk but that was from solo. Amazing but I realise that it was the first first seed I grew from the @Mars Hydro 12 aquaponics thing. Its tapering now during stall) great result.

Anyone wonders how I keep them in veg as 12/12 here - daylight bulbs which yesterday I had someone install this.

Because I don’t want to be awake at 2am yo turn the lights out and ceiling lights are not my thing 😅 I’m not expecting any growth from it just veg protection from 6pm-2am. My worry is actually more ambient light in flower. That was a quick fix that saves me rolling over in bed when the alarm goes to wake me up at 2am 😅 Oh and the box is being dropped below the side table below ASAP - its right in front of me when I walk up the stairs 😂

Can’t wait to see you work your magic

I’m such a newbie. Trying to replicate the last grow yields for 18 plants not 2? I think I got really just very very lucky at times. When I didn’t even realise maybe. I might get an all new problem and be wiped out a whole grow.

I’m terrified most of the time thinking about it.😅

We did it twice.
We?!? :laughtwo: you mean your grow manager, right?

The veg lights don't have to stay on for the full 8 hours. With night interruption (i.e. gas lantern effect) what you're really trying to do is make sure there is no uninterrupted 12 hour block of darkness, so you could set a timer to have the light come on somewhere in the middle of dark period for 30 minutes or so. That way there's only a dark period for maybe six hours, then a period of light, then dark again. Saves on the light bill, and helps with crabby neighbors.
