Nick Hardy's Big Grow 2023 Gorilla Glue Skunk 11 OG Kush Coco Peat Co2 Mars Hydro

If its Thai owned then it will be authentic as they can get the ingredients. Which in North America I reckon probably real good. Big Thai diaspora there.

Red curry is generally with duck or beef but to be honest a restaurant here will offer it with duck, beef, chicken or pork.

The major difference will be their “Spiciest” rating would be “Medium” here. (I’m not good at spicy - I love it but it hurts 😅 - my three year old daughter eats spicier than me 🤣)

If you really like spicy asking them to make you spicy for Thai person. They’ll know what you mean. My wife does that when we’re in Hong Kong. But Thai people are scared off my wife’s spice tolerance - she’s from the deep Thai south and crazy 😅

Pad Thai normally sold from a motorcycle side car and made in front of you here. Not always on a restaurant menu but its great! Haven’t had in months. Thanks for the reminder.

Thai sticks - back in the UK thirty years ago that was the primo stuff!

Here now its just three grades of Thai weed. The top stuff is say $300USD a kilo. Mostly called “bush weed”. Hard pressed. Sativa high.

A gram retail of say any strain we know here on 420 is up to $30USD PER GRAM!

Same here about 40yrs ago and it was 🔥. That and true Hawaiian was the best high ever. CL🍀

I have to consolidate all that into into 1 thread.
I've got over 200 pages, not your fault.
It's on my to do list.
How are things going today?

Its always my fault, you’re too kind. A single minutes looking at what was being assembled I’d have seen they were differently edged and googled it. Proper schoolboy error. Also you added it to your signature 😂

Great day. Happy plants or of not super happy then on the mend. Plus lost of messed up product testers from yesterday! One Russian guy I see most days blitzed on dispensary stuff, nice young kid said some extremely kind things about it. Its too strong and too sativa for me but he certainly liked it “I go work all day online for make big money, then have so much energy I go gym for big workout get girls number. Very smooth, big energy, thank you” Then he hugged me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’m really not a touchy feely person but when he stopped hugging me I felt really happy with mine and my wife’s work. Great feeling.

Also this is very much a joint enterprise - my wife does so much of the work. I research learn and buy stuff but it wasn’t me in trim jail, or pulling rocks out of root balls it was her. She now gets why I spent $1000’s on startup costs. Today she said when we were talking about the downstairs tents running too hot

Me - Its too hot there for the veg plants maybe we buy a standalone tiny AC for $125?

“Babe why we not buy second hand AC like the big one we buy before for upstairs room for $150, and get the guys put pipe in both tents? Seem like cheaper”

So obviously a better value deal. Love her to bits

Nick

Ooph. My swing fans rubbish. Another one broke. Pushed the girls up close for tonight to make sure they’re getting a tickle each.

Tomorrow standalone fan. Then four new @Mars Hydro fans - maybe I could order and bag an extra discount with some shout out…

It would then be 99% all Mars Hydro stuff in there. Just the airpots (I used your linens last grow though!)

There’s some droopy there still but getting better. Some maybe I’ll give a little water to tomorrow and basically gonna be 0.5 cal mag and 1ml/l A/B baby stuff again. No root boost again. Well maybe 0.1 (they recommend 0.4 - 1ml) way back. They look totally recovered in 36 hours which I think they should they are back on the gas but way gentle rates.

4 hours a day focus on air flow and not crazy growth.

Night

He reposted his airpot assembly guide just for me like an irritated “you boy pay attention at the back of the classroom”’ type way. Which was well deserved. Gotta learn from somewhere.

Cheers Bill 🙏🏼
You should’ve seen me get hung out to dry over asking how to layer pots for the fifteenth time after he’d sent me his link five times.

Brutal taskmaster this one. Wax on wax off.

You’ve seen my super effective AC method? Perfect for veg. Plain old 5000 btu window AC unit. I make it work for flower too in the other tent.

That’s awesome! I don’t see many of that style here. A staple in HK. I have a guy that buys bulk from hotel/restaurant closures. Services everything up and gives a 6 month warranty. Bought one before and so have mates. The split kind. Because I have two tents down there thinking I can fabricate a hood for it and feed into both tents with ducting. Total price maybe $200.
I hope the building codes are up to snuff! Even more so when you have a have a whole greenhouse up there.
Ha they’re on a 10” concrete slab. Should be enough. By the time they’re grown and done the land next door should have my new 5x20m greenhouse built on it. A big reason they’re out there is to see what the light is going to be like and figure out what supplemental light I’ll need.

More concrete! Build style here is rebar reinforced concrete pillars and concrete slab. Same as an office tower block. They drill down to 20m for the feet. A big selling point was the house was designed/built by a couple that have a decent architectural firm specialising in apartment blocks. Been to their office. 20 busy Thai people with Vectorworks (CAD program) running away. Plenty of houses built here by a builder with a couple of bits of A4 paper with some scribbled notes on!

Good luck. When I first tried it I made an hood and ran an 8” hose into the round port. These things will crush a 5x5 - but not with any extensions. I even tried one way up high running into an upper port and exiting atop the light. (Don’t do that, lol). It also had a hood and extension. You may well find that the size I pictured (standard window size, 5000 btu) is not adequate to cool two tents splitting the output. I’d go 8000 btu or even 10,000 for that, but it depends on how much cool you need. Here in the summer it’s 100 degrees in my garage where the tents are. I use 2 of these on a 5x5 in the summer, one in each side:

Also remember you’re going to get corresponding lowering of RH along with the cool if you use these. It has to be accounted for. Not sure how it will mix with CO2. Will be interested to see what you come up with.

That’s great info!

This is the style I use upstairs and at veg/flower stages I saw the adjustments need. The ceiling dehumidifier I’m promised sorta by Saturday but yeah Cool mode on AC and separate dehumidifier make me way more comfortable.

The cartridge/compressor is on the wall outside normally the small bit blows air. So a hood for that. Two bits of duct. The small tent gets 8” or more ducting. The big tent gets say 4” ducting.

As @ReservoirDog likes to refer capillary action. Kinda. Veins and arteries. The smaller tube blows more faster so I take that for the bigger tent. Then send the same more slowly to the smaller tent to try and balance them.

What do ya reckon?

I need to stop smoking this sativa. Had a day off. Two tokes and mind racing.

I don’t think you guys would think it anything special. But ai do think its better than on any of the shops here and grown here.

Plant I was was worried about went @InTheShed grows inside and out worried about went outside for some natural sun. She perked up lots but the repot soil hasn’t fully bonded with the new which is still a worry. Put her back in the room but the others all nearly, nearly all back. We’re gonna feed them some low level nutes. Like dialled right back in the 150-250ml range max plant droopy (some look great and need it) dependent about 4 hours before lights out.

Then if as I hope they are all banging by say 2 hours after lights on tomorrow then maybe I’ll drop the lights a little and umm Co2
NST Stress Level 2/10 better get that up!

😂

PS Outdoor grows look great too. Wish every day was like this!

Very interesting grow @NickHardy. I have CO2 in my future. I didn’t realize you use it in veg, I always thought it was for flower. But your growth rate speaks for itself, that’s insanity. I can completely understand the “they look a little tired” comment as that rate of growth, one would think, would necessitate occasional breaks or maybe a certain number of hours per day or whatever.

So I know you can blast them with ppfd using CO2. What ppfd level are they at in veg? I would normally veg growing in coco at somewhere between 600-900, and go up to around 1300 in flower if they can take it. I assume you can go significantly higher with your setup, yes?

It’s a great setup. Very impressive. Love your love affair with electricity. I’m pulling up a chair.

Plus: this maniac has 19 plants at once!!

  (I very much respect that work load)
Am I right? I know, madness! Lead the way, oh captain my captain.

Cheers - yeah I am a bit more blase than most. I see yellow, I see sallow, wilty plants. Sure I have lots. But I hope those out there that mega stress over this stuff learn my biggest take aways so far. Once over 4” tall with a normal photo coco grow don’t overreact to problems. Most everything is fixable. Dial it all back to airy substrate, right mild food and plenty air flow. They will come back. You are likely to make it worse with speculative additions. Not sure too much too little water? If you can - give one water and the other one not. The plant that recovers first provides your answer. Over changing too many things at once on “guessing” stuff I killed lots. Patience. Dial it all back and get the basics.

Very much my ethos - (plus blasting with Co2 which is a bit more experimental 🤣)

Talk to them. Give them names.

And get lucky 😂
This is very sound advice, that is well l timed.

Take out two droopies, water one. If nothing happens nothing’s lost…

Sorry (not sorry) for back-posting! Great thread (totally is) so far, wow.
