Nick Hardy & Co Graduation: Coco Co2 High EC: Grown in Thailand: Perpetual

Not much on the seed front. Still 21/24. Some waiting to unfold, particularly the indicas but they seem to have noticeably thicker stems which is reassuring.

Then the blue solos arrived and were already out of date thanks to @InTheShed dropping pics of his.

We’re all good there - they can hang out a another day or so. Two of the mental sativas almost look like they double sprouted and decided both ends would try and bury themselves in the dirt - headbutt it almost 😂 they grow big so 5 is probably ok 😂

Look you’re all growers. You know me a bit by now.

No one should be surprised by this. Its obvious really.

I have three strains in this grow. Need an easy at a glance way to differentiate between them. So tomorrow I have these arriving when we’ll repot.

😂

Nice. That's a good way to tell quickly which you are looking at. I use different colored toothpicks because I like to use clear solos inside opaque ones and like to keep the colors with the plant itself in case I separate the two cups for whatever reason.

Yep 100% they’re going in clear ones likely with some little air holes in inside the coloured ones.

Airpots Lite

The 3 Gallon airpots for their repot after those arrived today. So pretty much on track.

We’ll group them and service them by strain while in pots with labels that follow them too.

Quite the day. Mostly “& Co” but my leisure is her pleasure!

Up potted 19. Blue solos I know, I know. The other ones haven’t arrived yet.

The clear ones are a touch taller than optimal by mistake. They have holes punched through the sides about 5mm dia not too many of them - dozen a cup? Dunno I didn’t make them! Slits in the bottom and then the blue ones have slits in them and little layer of perlite. Then coco perlite with a perlite top in the clear ones.

There are 9 seeds/ plants in the pots. 3 plausible 6 spares.

The coco/perlite was moistened with 5.8 tiny cal mag, some tiny filler, some Total and a spoonful pf @DYNOMYCO helps the medicine go down. Which we mixed in. Then we water a syringe of same liquid round the edge of each plant and another syringe in the blue ones.

Then we put the blue solos on orange trays.

With a little water on.

Wick/swick whatever the Rh is a little lower than normal in there rhis evening with the perlite between the cups and slits/holes all around might work out with roots?

Then we repotted the seeds in the same machine. These are our “plausibles” and “spares”

We really want 7 of each. 8 would be perfect) Some maybe going to be ok but not quite ready for the big time.

But to make absolutely certain I popped a few more 2 days ago 🤣 so they got trayed. Slightly different we gave them the same very light nute mix at 5.8 as the repots. Just to see. We only have the 19 pictured I’m ok. 18 is a stretch in the room already. We’ll be ok. So why not learn by trying?

& Co a very hardworking person. She take pleasure in the work.

Kid did her maths and medical (syringes) training 😂

Happy family!

And Happy plants!

And why the sprinkling of perlite on the surface?
The soil peat is they are in is little “proud” of the coco peat they are in. So sort of @Bill284 method homage. Part useful we feel like we want water a little more with the moat effect - the perlite on the top looks (because is was) thrown on casually but we could tidy it up pretty quick to make a nice moat. Finally - I’m not sure what they’re gonna do with a new medium and light and myriad.

So being the cautious type perlite is white and reflects light. Light that is being reflected isn’t being used to dry the plants out.

Maybe. Looks nicer too, you know that’s important to me!

😆

Until the wetness causes it to turn an algae green. And noone wants that. :(

Sorry I need to clarify something -

I would have layered in more perlite, maybe two layers in the clear cups. But we were across different floors with a lots of moving parts. Missed it.

Still would have had perlite on top.

But wouldn’t have bothered with perlite between clear and blue had we done that. Its what happened.

I like the perlite play between the two cups as it happens. Its kinda wick/swick?

But I fess 100% to it not being what was originally planned.

Ahh - I know what you mean!

We had a bit with the Bruce Banners. It woukd ebb and flow. Never a worry. No hulking.

They’ll be repotting in 10 days to 3 gallons I think. All new perlite. Then 3 weeks to 5 gallons. Because obviously its all gonna be perfect 🤣

This is worse dude! Like totally. I just went to check on the plausibles and spares and saw what I saw in the photo below. The green rack was holding the seeds in ziploks (not the spares the main grow last week) the rabbit - or “krolik” in Ukranian was innocently watching over the plants a few days ago.

On my grandmother’s (long dead but much missed) life I did not do that! 🤣

I need to ask “& Co” but I suspect it was an “Easter Egg” she’s been waiting for me to spot.

😂🤣

Tears of laughter over such a pet hate (she hates seedling like me - ok nice rabbit didn’t work now you get dead rabbit)

With love

Nick & Co

Link is helpful.

Aww mate - my football team (like Sheen/Beringer/Snipes) era Brava (nice logo) just beat Todd Boeleys $500m dollar this month Chelsea (Yankees obvs)

Its been a fun week!

Love the fam. Best bit. We have so much fun. So lucky no need to exaggerate anything. She tried to blame me for the rabbit hanging there. Then fessed to it. There was a bit of Buddhist Guilt there 🤣 (it seems quite similar to other forms of human guilt, religious or otherwise I’ve seen!)

But yeah then she fessed to the motivations I guessed at.

Pure joy.

❤️

Yeah mad busy.

All good today.

Added a bit more of the baby nutes to the orange trays, inside the solos to touch was perfect. Honestly. Perfect. We look generally good to great. No crazy antic's.

The plausible and spares look like 6 and the right spread of what we need to get to the perfect 8 of each of three strains. 7 in the main grow and three mothers for 21. Weirdly the Strawberry beasts first time. Not enjoying this time out. Indy the reverse. Need go back and check. They were slightly differently treated. I am pretty sure & Co said last night she thought they were more wet. I think they were from the first wetted towels in the trays. So were more because I did it and not the far less careless than & Co would ever be.

That’s what we’re after anyway. Gonna run these three strains at least twice and sees what happens. Like honestly the Indy’s I’ve seen them in veg on their 100’s. Mental nice looking.

I posted a picture in the other grow journal. We got a logo done. Happy with it. We ain’t commercial here. Don't want to offend so won’t post again here the same, if its a problem better get told off once rather than twice. Same as my seeds from a non sponsor of me are from a non sponsor of 420. So not mentioning them. But just sayin’ Indy be famous by next year. Looks incredible.

Have a fun idea.

I have a @Mars Hydro Hydroline12 cloning machine.

Not sold officially here and out of stock everywhere.

I want to try and get the spares up to speed with rhe ones in solos. Think I might chuck them in pure hydro for a few days. That will be a fun experiment. Like pump the nutes in the tank even. Reckon keep it 5.8 and 1.2 probably fine 😂

From what I recall, water roots are different from soil roots, so moving them back into pots might take some time for them to adjust back and forth, which might not get you a net time gain in the end.
