We’re chopping the remaining Indy tonight that’s 3 more. & Co has now fessed to the mislabel of the Indy to Island but the lady can grow so I’ll try and stay on top of the labelling!

They are rather more purple than anything else!

If my phone doesn’t explode from over heating or another day job thing maybe I’ll grab some pics.

The d/h wasn’t switched back on last night so we sorta lost a day of drying (the AC was on and lights out - ambient is a bit higher though)

Sure fine.

Strawberry Fast Dry tasted wet last night. But blew me away. But long long day and already had some other stuff so inconclusive. Just tried it again. Wet and the taste no where near the smell but that’s just why we cure, right? Water out. Unlocks the terps.

I’m warmly mashed. Though work today like unreal. Call me Cassandra.

I reckon it smells like that because its lying in a bed of Island is actually cable tied to one!

Day #5 Seedling ((Day #11)

Ha well pleased. He’s been away a couple of nights and didn’t mention so I was worrying about the seedlings. No need!

We have all 4 above ground. Looking lovely. He was teasing me suggesting it was just 3/4 executed second stage launch, so photos aren’t quite clear but there are 4/4 up top.

The grow spot is just lovely, eh? He says nice warm and humid in there.

See how they go. He’s prepped on syringe around the edges as required - the same light cal mag water. We’re gonna take a test of his water butt/rain collection water tomorrow. Its right be the greenhouse which is handy for the two weeks we have to cover while he’s away. Although think he’s got a mate for emergencies. Be nice we could get through those weeks untouched. Lets see!

(Bill - I totally forgot I am actually doing a greenhouse grow earlier when we were chatting - but very “sorta” and its a long long way away!)

He’s grown fruit and veg in there for years so I’m more just pointers and equipment ordering/delivery. We’re both really busy - using stuff, and methods we’ve used before as closely as possible - hey he’s my best male mate, so the pleasure is another thing we chat about about every day from afar. My spare room in a couple of current and past homes. He appends “Suite to his name and calls it that - he hasn’t visited the new one. I tried to put him off with Elsa bed sheets to start. Recently its been no there’s kilos of weed in there, cannot!



To give some context - he knows how much I miss a European northern hemisphere summer. I’ve been back in winter but nor summer for 8 years or something. He is torturing me with countryside pictures even as he grows. Its very deliberste by him but we both know that. I get him back from time to time!

Growin’ ‘em all is fun. This one dunno its special as first time for him and greenhouse, totally different climate, autos and likely some auto sip type thing? Yeah all totally new for us as well (will be & Co as well they’re mates) yesh hige fun. Now to figure out that 2 week break. Was hoping for the PB nutes for him so need to decide on something else quite quickly. Because up pot soon. Oh gosh. Can I can’t remember I ordered him @DYNOMYCO yet?!

This is a guy who turned up here for wedding to & Co as my best man and said “Oh listen mate before I forget where can I put this, your safe Ok?”
- Sure
“Just my passport, a couple of spare bank cards and the wedding rings”
- huh, we have wedding rings, what!?

We had rings but I wear the one which he bought, our daughter has & Co’s on a chain.

We’re very close - he has probably out done me by a mile on generosity between us over the last 20 years. So yeah this is lovely, lovely.

OK on it -

Had not hit checkout on the solar powered pond bubbler (keep the food mix good while he’s away!)

Ordered some Dynomyco off the site that will deliver both before 1pm tomorrow - sure you can guess!

Then ordered a starter pack of the DP Nutes we use. Its got A/B through a lot of separate additives through to the explode one. Worth it for that.. Plenty for 4 plants for less than $100 - and not sure all four will be grown. 2 might be a better number. Plausible…

Anyway I bought the soil version even though I’m hoping to use coco - its just paining me seeing the prices over there

BUT - we used the soil version in hydro and never worried about Ph once in our first grow. Stopped checking. Our inputs are very similar here and 1000’s miles away by happy coincidence in terms of Ph - PPM and EC so soil covers both bases we have to change to soil. (Never done before)

Dunno but apart from the medium and post solo up pot choice we're done on build

The 15 chopped already the trim crew come tomorrow. They are very dry. A week at 60 or below Rh, dark and 20cs.

Rebuild next few days. We definitely have one more grow before the law may change. We’re not ready to fill it again for 2 weeks at least. Gives some options as I have a huge package of new strains coming in hopefully ten days. An order made back in early Jan. Could even a grow just in the veg tent start to finish. We’s still have the 4x4 to keep some clones and mothers in the event we can keep going - and would leave us the max product on hand it goes illegal again. Because I’m sure there will be some leeway on selling stock on hand.

That first Strawberry bosh! worn off. Hmm yum.

These were part of 6-8 grams & Co took off a middle bit of an average plant. I had to beg an upgrade from her fiest offer pf popcorn stuff.
Really nice to grow, smell and indulge in. Meant to be Sat leaning but I get more Indica softness after 30 minutes. Splendid it is! First pic of a nug of it so excuse quality.

Day #8 Seedling (Day #18)

Yeah all good really. Had him open the humidity a little because of those water drops on a couple. We are both well pleased. He sent me just the most stunning shot of his greenhouse from outside. It looks like a little Hobbit house or something. But can’t risk it here. I know I’m a tease.

Ordered a 4 pot Autopot system. 15L Pots - 4 Gallons and a 47L Res - 12.5 Gallons. Then Plagron Royal 100L, clayballs and Plagron worms, perlite - so system and medium done. Oh need to get some @DYNOMYCO I guess although I might have bought some for him already. Need to check. Only thing bugging me.

Fert arrives tomorrow but we can wait til the weekend - then its solos in our WICK/Airpot crossover style for a week. Top and up pot. They’re autos (my first) and there’s a couple of “don’t do that” things there topping/up potting but reckon we’ll be ok. I want some downward roots out of those SWICK/Airpot blend we’ve been using

Never grown in soil before. Be fun. Plus all the leftovers with soil etc (they only had 25kg bags of the Plagron Mega Worms in stock )

His setup is going to be fun. Especially as I’m not going to have to do it. There’s a small like $30 solar panel that will power the little decorative pond water feature I sent him. Its to keep the nute tank gentally agitated while he’s away But hoping it will also power the USB battery fans. While he’s there he can just take to the house and recharge one while the one runs. If we can run a fan off one on low that would be great. (Its designed for the water feature)

Yeah ok new journal.

Popped today. Will show how I did it in the next post. Hola!

How did I miss it all these months?

So popped and the swimming pool is only half a joke. We have a pool kept clean with “Ozone” or as it is chemically known Hydrogen Peroxide. No salt or chlorine. It can be useful for germinating seeds as it cleans any bacteria on the seed and softens it slightly. We gave a 30 minute soak otherwise we followed the instructions from the seed farm we used. They’re Dutch and been around for a long time. Created some top strains over the years.

This is what they recommend. So we did this basically, just swapped full popping in the HP for a soak and then well water.

Next stage they’ll go in the seedling machine with @DYNOMYCO

You'd think by now I could get some seeds to grow! I do similar to this. I put them in a CD case. I can't remember who taught me that neat trick (a 420 grower sorry my memory sucks sometimes) but when it works, it works well.

Anyway:

More SWICK effect than anything pure. Only in the solo stage. An idea cobbled together from different stuff I’ve seen. They sure ain’t very pretty looking!

Sure there’s pictures here and in the Dynomyco thread. Clear solo holes in the sides and bottom. Perlite at the bottom. That sits on a bed of perlite in a coloured Solo and water between the cups with a syringe (plus from the top a bit to start)

All being well I’ll be needing 16 of them made like that next week sometime for my new journal I started last night.

No, but functional! I found the perlite messy and not as controllable as the cloth SWICKs that Gee and Hash Hound use, so I followed their lead. The perlite works well for the baby SWICKS I have found.

Day #74 Grow Complete

Chopped the last 6 plants now.

The Indy was rough trimmed to buds with some leaf today to make room for them.

In the pictures that’s on the circular trays.

The stuff just chopped 5 or 6 Islands maybe a mis labelled one we’ll decide in the morning - that’s on the ladder. Quite a lot of volume. In the morning I’ll be anle to open the curtains and look properly.

So yeah the growing bit on the original “Graduation Grow” is done. Its just a relief I think to get them out. No mould risk now. The dry room is perfect.

I guess it will all be trimmed in about 10 days. Think the trim crew are coming at 11pm to start properly.

Can switch two of the lights off and lower the AC right off for the Solos.

Bit sad but hey. Lots of other grows going on.

We didn’t even pull them out and photograph them. So jaded that we are! There’s 1 plant on that blue plastic sled we used to move them at that point.

We have probably 2.5KG finished off perfectly from the last harvest plus this will probably come in about 4kg - that’s pretty much a 25% increase. But we added three plants which is a 17% increase. Net out 10% ahead. Meh. Feel like we missed a trick or two with those strains. Be great to be selling some…

Still not all bad! After the room is rebuilt we go again. The Strawberry and Indy for sure. The 8-9 week strains mixed with 10-11 weekers is so much pain. Hopefully we’ll be filling her up again before the end of the month with some lessons learned. Focus on clones next week. Also depends when my seed batch arrives. Mimosa x Orange punch from Barneys in bound.

Day 19#
I had a nasty surprise today. There I was navigating the rainforest looking for coloured duct tape for this grow and I found some. Same 3M I get. Same everything. Nearly 3 times the price. Outrageous. Still can’t grow without pretty coloured duct tape can you?



If anyone hasn’t seen an Autopot system they’re basically a gravity fed auto watering SIP or a bit SWICKY Our one has a 47L 12.5 Gallon Res.

Here’s a link to a video someone else made using fruit veg as an example so all good with the Adult warning! Not interested in the video there’s a picture below.

We’re doing clayballs, soil/worm mix, perlite, soil mix perlite… you probably get it! Thanks BIll for the riff on his Bill284 method, Azi for (I was always open to this just needed the space!) but also helping me realise the obvious soil is gonna be easier if he’s going away. Although looking at the seed to harvest numbers (something a photo grower doesn’t use as a metric) I’m not sure maybe they’re done before he goes or in the middle.

Can just run them on a flush, oh no, no flush.

But @Azimuth actually suggested this it might work out perfect? Last week in the SIP theead. Disconnect the res for a drought for a couple of weeks come home with a red face having played bad golf and harvest. Hmm. Autos aren’t just gonna suddenly die and turn to rot when they hit their number. The whole flower when they want scares me enough already.

The Grow Fairytale Cottage

SYSTEM

A Four Pot Autopot system. Place the res 15cm or more above the pots. A float valve on each pot delivers water from below to the internal res as it goes below a certain point. How do you like them apples, Mr Newton?

There’’s a full setup vid here. No affiliation to them but ots a great video for anyone might be setting such a system up in the near future.

There’s the systems setup - there are a few bitnand pieces like USB rechargeable fans - a small solar panel. If that could run a fan that would be awesome.

THE GROW ROOM
Where the magic will happen. The seedlings are currently the other side of the back wall, maybe? Been to the house not the green house! To the right is a pile of seasoned firewood about half a ton I think. That’s moving and they’ll leave a 2x2x2m (8x8x8) spot to put the pots in. Some handy shelves on the left for tools and all the rest.

It looks like an Ok spot to grow in to me.
