Someone has their work cut out for them.
Literally!

The builders need to cut the roof off the grow room, chsnge the support structure and weld it sll back together - then thee the gypsum/plaster board roof above that needs to be cut away to access the concrete slab above to fix the three winches to them and run steel cable snd 3 ply electrical into conduits!

Lots of cutting! 😆 need to get everything done in three days. Gonna be mad fun 🤣

Think black on white in a cold war era metal box is how we’re gonna go. The switches were free with points!

😅

Good luck and I hope it comes out great. You will have one hell of a grow set up.

Ah - this is a two button solution.

Most safe.

They’ll only operate whilst pressed and held on is the idea. Bounce back to off. Like you forget to switch down off and mash your plants or up and burn the winch motor and/or break your lights.

Bit worried about torque snd power cables, jumpy at the start.

I’m also hoping for a replacement light or something. Been a week since the photos went to “Engineering for Assessment” would be great to swap it out with the other stuff.

Oh the light manufacturer came back.

Drum roll.

They’re shipping me a replacement 6” panel for one of the bars which is out. Free of charge. 🤣 Its 6 months old. Cost like $750 USD These are the replacement instructions: From their email. What the electrician’s time is worth $20 with a receipt? My time isn’t worth anything?

What is the difference? 2 hours of my time is worth like start adding zeros for my work billable per hour/day. $20 someone else does it but do it my self nothing?

Its a warranty fault. Open up the light, unscrew it and solder it back together? $730USD LED and fails after 6 months? You want me to unscrew the sealed unit, un solder panels, re solder panels, reassemble it after? I’m not soldering anything connected to 220v electricity. Also even my awesome Sparky that could do it - no! This stuff belongs being done in a factory. Controlled conditions. Safe. Secure. Proper tested electrics.

Yeah no way. Screw your lights. You think that’s a solution?!

I’m buying three new lights off a company with actual warranty plans.

@Mars Hydro its a joke. A sponsor that disappoints.

Just open up the light and resolder the new panel in?

You are meant to be for personal/home grows - home growers and “prosuners” can’t do advanced electrics like that. $20 to pay someone else to do it?

Really? Where you live?

Don’t mention “commercial” grows again. You have no idea.

Maybe we spent $4k plus just on lights to you plus tents and inlines.

$20 solder your own repair under full warranty light on - only if you provide a receipt for the electrician.

Way to have a guy list 5 lights online for sale from your brand and buy all new fromanother brand.

Way out of date with LM301B anyway.

So furious with this. Purchase direct from Mars Hydro Thailand late October 2022.

Its a joke. The product broke. It is the least professional response ever. “Fix it yourself - if you need someone else to make judgements on electrical SAFETY issues or INVALIDATING your warranty we’ll pay you 20 bucks.

Your lights are out my grow rooms whatever it costs me. Your apparent lack of care for safety or warranty matters means they ain’t staying on my property. Very seriously.

Dear friend,

We hope this email finds you well!

After checking with the engineering department again, ,the light needs to be replaced with a light board and soldered( please refer to this link to solder:WeTransfer - Send Large Files & Share Photos Online - Up to 2GB Free.) And we will provide you a light board.

If you can't do it, you can ask your local electrician to help. And we can reimburse you $20 if you provide a receipt.

If you agree, please send us the following information:

This was their response.

Done with them. New lights like 4x better anyway. Plus half free. Didn’t want to spend the “half” until this crap. But now I don’t ever want to see rhat logo again.

“Solder your own”

If I wanted to do that I’d make my own lights. Not pay 2x the price for 4 year old diodes.

You thinks that’s a solution I seriously hope who I think makes your lights you white label are making them because I know them personally and they are serious about safety. You are clearly not. They give commercial growers spares so they don’t do on the fly repairs like the stuff you suggest.

Nick.
A license electrician will get more that 20$ to change a light bulb.

Not in Thailand 🇹🇭. CL🍀
Actually I pay him for a basic trip here (its 40 minutes on a scooter here and 40 back) About $15. Plus beers (yeah motor bike along the busiest highway on the island 🥹) and more recently weed / but! I don’t let him smoke now! Because he’s used to thai outdoor weed at like 8% thc. Bang a whole joint. One night I actually offered him the spare room so after that - no more banging hydro before riding pal! 🤣

I pay him average 500 baht for his 80 minutes journey time. His hour or two work and labour and skills for me. I try to massively overpay. I tip in any way I can. He’s great.

My lights cost 30,000 baht each. Before the electrical work, cable prolonging, proper mounting and electrical. Work on electrical timers and control boxes.

Say 120,000 baht.

He gets 500 baht a visit.

Thats 240 visits.

If I asked him to open a factory made LED light re solder it he would say “No - that is not safe”

If I offered him 5000 baht (10x) he’d laugh at me. “No! Kuhn Nick! We both know not correct why you ask me do?”

The light thing is so unsafe and unprofessional.

Really upset by that response.

Nick

Oh love this story. And he’s so right. Love Ben and Jerry’s. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough twisted with Chocolate Fudge. Unless they do Gluten Free I’m not having again. Maybe I’ll try 😅 Risk it. I eat ice cream like once every 6 weeks but it was only ever that 😅

But he makes a great point. Almost thinking about just growing a nice flavoured 10% strain. Saves trying to reduce it down for tourists smoking for perhaps the first time? Maybe just autos in the clone tent? Its 4x4 with 320W. Probably get plenty out of that with the right strain. Its Co2 ready and not really used right now.

Maybe next month 😅
