Day #37 - last of this burst of posting on the flower girls.

That’s Day #34 a touch over 72 hours ago. Some change. A bit out of order in reportage this evening on the Quadrants. First nutes

umming and ahhering on the bloom explode or using a no name brand equiv. Started the Bloom Explode about 5 days ago. So glad I did. But carelessly I made the new mix at 4.0EC yesterday. Usual Ph. Realised half way through in my mind and yep. 50L in ai killed it. Today topped up with 50L more plain water and it came in 3.05EC where 3.0 is perfect. Ph’d it doen after and got another 50L of fert for free I guess. That’s a day. Its $20 a day I guess.

Gas is on - lights are cool.

Q2 - Yeah solid. 7 mostly dark mega purple phono Indy’s rocking it with massive stong colas with 3 weeks to bulk up skinny top to tail. & Co isn’t into the consumption nor the handling of the plants. But today during defoliation before I left the house I got a yell from the end of the corridor. “Babe, Babe…”

Ran along and got,

“This Indy it smells so good, I love it. I never like the smell marijuana normally, but this one, the dark one beautiful”

Its pretty rich. Faint strawberry off the strawberry's but the Indy is a special strain.

Q3 - They are trucking along. Shorter, stockier but they’ll deliver in 3 weeks for sure. Such nice shapes. That aroma is coming.

Q1 - First picture. Yeah ah well. They are probably 5 weeks. And we have a plan with a fast flower very new cool strain - at the moment we’re gonna run 8 or 9 of the Indy and Seri each next grow. But we have 6 clones of a fast photo strain we’ll call Tropic Thunder. 6 weeks. So we’ll harvest the Indy/Strawberry 16 plants and swap in clones the same. Island can run longer and then we’ll swap in the Tropic Thunder.

But in anticipation of this complicated timing (we need two days replace the roof and light system as well!) & Co has down some stuff to the Island Sativas. She has stage two planned for 48 hours time - she wants to coach some branches around more.

Anyway,

They smell nice.

So Day #39

I’m sorta enthused. You can’t tell the difference between the 10 and 5 day seedlings now. I wrote the tags for phase #1 & Co phase two so I could check but they are just uniform really. Apart from the Indy pheno differenetiation. Purple or not.

The Islands. They’re for the love of a diety! They’re starting to bulk up!! They can have a shade over 4 weeks to 70 days then we need the space. The rest to be honest we’re gonna be running at least two more weeks. Maybe more. They’re 7.5 week tops Indy and 9 weeks Strawberry. Maybe the Indy will finish in two weeks. We’re about 5.8 now.

Looking forward to see how the Islands go. They have plenty of space and time. And support and love. They’ve stopped annoying me 😂 plus & Co is loving the training. Treats it as advanced defoliating.

Beautiful garden Nick & Co.!

Thank you, Sir Its meh ladies work, truth be told Sir!

The crazy Sativa section is always the first door I open. It was Skunk 11 last time. We eneded up finishing them in the veg tent. But they had a bad start in life.

These ones we can give time and space to. Because she grew up better we can be a bit firmer with them. I love how she’s opened them out. To my eye it looks like she’s creating one pf those plastic toys you get a marble and create a path for it to roll down the drops. She’ got all these arms going on in opposite angles to maximise light (and avoiding the busted light panel section!) so I think we’ll get some banging 80/20 Sativa/Indica out of them.

Nick & Co

She’s sitting on a concrete floor trimming 10 hours a day whilst ruling the plants, animals and family with an iron fist plus cooking 4 meals a day. She can treat those plants how she wishes, as long as I don’t incur her wrath! 🤣

very nice

I read the below earlier, Bill actually recommended the Journal author Nunyabiz (cool name) who I thank first sorry if this “summons” you as Teddy says I did once! But the most clear starter on how to get into LOS. Its not for & Co’s stuff but was mulling it for the Wasabi grow (as in Wasabi the Japanese root rather than a new Hybrid strain of weed!) starting to build the grow box next week. I think at 8x4x2’ for 24 months LOS might be a bit much for a newbie!

But its really clear and succinct and 100% where I would start if I do something in LOS. A gem of a post.

As Bill said, if you would like to go LOS and have it pretty fool proof then a minimum of 15 gallon fabric pots is what you need.
25+ gallon is what i recommend.
Buy or make a good Clackamas Coots soil recipe, add rove beetles and predator mites, start a cover crop add some barley straw for mulch and after a week or two add a handful of worms, or use a very high quality worm casting that comes with a few worms and cocoons.
Plant germinated seed in solo cup watered with mycorrhazae, in 7 to 10 days transplant into final pot.
Coat the inside of transplant hole with mycorrhazae and Optiveg.
Water in with aloe vera water.
With LOS you want to get the mycorrhazae colony working with your roots asap, the mycorrhazae can actually feed your plant better than its own roots can.
If the soil wasn't super lively with lots of worms and rove beetles then I would just plant germinated seed directly into 25 gal pot, but its best to have your soil so alive you can talk to it so a week in solo cup inoculated with mycorrhazae is best to get roots established.
Water most everyday, can skip a day once in awhile but usually you water everyday with about 5% of soil volume, so a 20 gallon pot would take about 1 gallon a day, during stretch if she's growing wild might need 10% of soil volume to keep up.
I always oxygenate my water to get as much dissolved oxygen as possible to the roots.
With a proper soil and 25+ gallon pots you could just use plain filtered water and get a great result.
You could also push it a little, turn up the lights, dial in the VPD and add a few extras.
I like a Sprouted Seed Tea of Alfalfa about week 3 of veg.
A splash of coconut water here and there, a few Fermented Plant Juice shots to bring out the terpenes.

Can't go wrong with a LOS grow as long as you start with a proper Clackamas Coots soil recipe.
And never allow the soil to dry out, treat it pretty much as you would coco.

Thank you, Sir!

Hmmm,

day #43

Hmm sure feels like there was some stall. But feels like its pick up sticks now. Dunno last few days. Also the Island (which we know are weeks out are the fastest to bulk up now I think panic over. They are in Q2 and Q3 mostly looking like if you approach them with a bamboo support they’ll slap you in the face with a leaf or something. 😂

I want to say the strawberry flavour is the best ever so I will! But its also the only growing “Strawberry” I’ve ever smelt. Its more rasberry for me now but wow! Red and orange everywhere 3 weeks before harvest

Nick

Yeah but its a sample size of “1”

Its definitely berry, we seem late on aroma too as well (maybe our accelerated grow regime, early on?)

Strawberry yeah maybe sweeter than the terps the breeder said were not strawberry at all. Cherry or something.

I get that. I reckon I’m gonna get a pure strawberry blast in a week or so.

We’ll see 🤷🏽

Yay grow room upgrade hardware arrived today. Helpfully for a 220v 200KG winch/hoist motor that weights like 10kg the manual came only in Chinese. Sparky all over it. I wasn’t planning on doing the three winches myelf!

Ordered some reserve buttons but the sparky is already building the control buttons / both styles are 22mm dia so all good. We’re going Chernobyl Control Panel aesthetics. I say we…

Builder is coming tomorrow to scope it out and promises are being made we can get the builders/sparky/AC guys to all arrive on rough notice in 3-4 weeks to:

& Co

Chop and hang 21 plants

Builders

Remove lights, rebuild the roof, install winches, build new HVAC supports, improve drainage system, make stainless steel spreader system, make roof good with access panel, mount lights, cable drop

Sparky

Wire 3 new winches on separate breakers, move surface mount electric sockets to better locations, test. Get paid bonus in weed.

AC Guy

Clean Flower Room AC. Look grumpy. He is all over the latter every time.

& Co

Ship in 21 Up Pots to new model flower room
Trim

Fun times ahead. Much easier to think that through and write it than it will be making it happen. She has a tough few days in her future!

😆

Nick & Co (She’s smoked Gorilla Glue first time 😂)

Someone has their work cut out for them.

That yellow hand held thing is being rewired into a functional steel control box, wall mounted with functional (illuminated) control buttons for up and down.

It my life’s work. It ‘s la piece de la resistance its my folly. Actually my folly might be my Carbonite Tomb for my nug of the month entry. But I haven’t cut myself yet so that’s something. 😂

Some button options below. Rockers won’t work.

Anyway while I’m writing - thank you very much @Herbies Seeds

Ordered off you first time and was super (I killed all 25 GSC’s - my bad)

My second order after for a third party (which your new American store shipped bonus seeds to that person too!) its been like 3 months 😅 But not your fault at all!

After US Customs intercepted that original Spanish origin order you shipped out a same value order to the person today - it was super easy to arrange. Legit excellent customer service. Thank you! (Not even my seeds - so I really mean it!)

I vote for the Mallcat, because the buttons are under plastic so the color won't come off when you paint the green blue.
Yeah I think that one might not work. We need hold for on. Or press on for up and off for up - ditto down. We need a “Third State” neither up nor down and there are two ways of achieving that.

See what looks nicest 🤣

Funny you mentioned the lights to blue - it was a nightmare taking the picture to make it look green. Photo below - two green buttons different angles. Red switch green grinder behind for reference.
