Can't you just ask the power company to turn the light off? Or at least give you a switch you can use on a timer. You're a good enough customer you'd think they'd try to accommodate you some how.
$882 last month. $420 is on normal stuff. The rest is growing related.

Once you have mould spores in the room they spread, we all have fans and stuff blowing those little bits around the room. Harvest what you can and throw the rest.

Sure I’m not the only one thinks like that.

Nick
I’ve seen a lot of people cut off the infected parts and wash them off and harvest all of the non infected parts. CL🍀

Sure you can recover some. But its gonna tend to happen towards the end of flower, with the best setup and care can still catch you out. At which point: chop, burn, - chop, clean - chop, hope become the three options for me. All begin the moment you see the first bit.

Even after you chop you still got to dry and cure. When that mould is still around so need to keep stuff really separate. We had a couple of colas. It can be way worse.

One cola a couple of weeks ago for the third time grew through the light bar. Only this time is got light burn the silly billy… Looked like it was gonna die so chopped the top 4” off and threw it away. Because it dies its a potential mould site which could wipe out all the other plants.

My esteemed friend @Bill284 sadly has some experience with it - as do we. We got some on the Bruce Banner grow.

Do you think with more airflow you could avoid it or is it just unavoidable with the humidity there? CL🍀

Another thing to think of - we sell our weed. We don’t have anything like the regulatory framework for growing that North Americas has, they’d probably close us for 3 months were we in Cali and got it while we did endless paperwork and cleaned. Here - I just don’t want to make people sick with stuff we sell.

Sure HVAV helps, we have a 100lb industrial dehumidifier and a split AC. Still open up the buds with gloves on daily for the last couple pf weeks.

Doesn’t help if someone touches a bud or brushes a tiny spore they picked up somewhere against a leaf.

Vigilance!

You need a airlocked door with decontamination chamber like they use for making computer chips and circuits. lol 😂 CL🍀

Yeah its what I looked at when I was going to build a room in my garage. “Clean Room” fibreboard. Sliding sealed door with a curtain. My friends business partners are building a medical grow facility. With orbital rotating grow chambers. Its pretty crazy stuff!

Day #50.

A bit of a milestone.

All ticking along. Cleaned my camera lens a bit so hopefully bud pics look Ok.

Indys - harvest 6-7.5 weeks. That would mean Wednesday but that’s not happening. They just started bulking up.

Strawberry - harvest 9 weeks. Umm they look most ready!

Island - harvest 10-11 weeks. Looks about right.

The strawberry and indys just trying to wait as long as possible. Hope we get them both at least one more week. Maybe two for the Indy. Environment is good. Eyes on three times a day.

How is it nearly harvest time again?!

Nick & Co

Oh yeah one more photo.

The Islands are so tall. Taller than me. I’m 180cm. Their stands and pots run to 40-45cm but they’re shaped so the colas run longer.

Call them 150cm or a smidge less than 5ft. Must try harder next time - there’s another 14” for them there.

The photo below you can see how much higher the Q1 light is than Q2. There’s an Indy in Q1 - looks an absolute beast at the back.

New and old stuff today.

Posting in Photo OTM journal earlier with Florida’s finest grower @Jon

It is a bit mad. The most important thing to make the tight packing of plants possible is the watering system. We had one blocked collar so the system is getting a long flush and clean when we flip. The water is fed from downstairs in the garage and is piped out to some flower beds downstairs.

The drainage trays are fantastic. The watering system I am probably happiest of all the elements of the room.

But something new, long planned. & Co Dropped one of the winches off and 6 buttons off at the farm today as Sparky lives very close to there.

He’s nearly finished the new control box but wanted a winch to check the cabling in the remote control (we’re not using the supplied ones.

Control box is exactly what I wanted.i think. Originally I wanted it in the horizontal but I think it would be a pain as they all open on the vertical and I have a better spot in the vertical anyway I realised today.

Nice and safe as ever.

This is the final phase. Winches and new roof and its done.

Two people asked me how I knew which were down buttons and which were up buttons. The second person I said,

“Actually I made a mistake. These are left and right buttons. New ones on the way” 😅

On a building note - my builders showed to plan the new roof. Fun times. They actually seemed more interested in the weather station that I also asked them to put on 8ft steel pole on the roof the house but they are enthused and this time totally get it early doors. Even contacting my Sparky (bizarrely been ships in the night - never meeting)

I’m enthused.

In off topic there’s a link to a very sillily narrated video of our flower room. Some pretty big changes coming so good to get a record of what has served so well the last 6 months.

On the grow front.

This being the second proper grow we’ve done I have something to refer to!

The humidity has dropped. Over night and during daylight hours. This I recognise from the last grow. Its the end of times. Those plants (and someone may well say I’m totally wrong - but I’m pretty sure I can hunt out the post in the Big Grow journal where I saw it before) but it gelt then as now, its end of times. These girls are respirating less as they come to their final sunsets.

Anyone has an opinion on that would be super interested to hear.

Mould inspections all good. Smells wax and wane, honestly the least veggy smelling plants ever. These are all citrus, fruit and spice. Def trying a hit off the mighty with a blend of all three when they’re ready!

“The Triple Twist Terp Toke”

Right - off to sorta work. My mate/Girl Friday and occasional employee, basically when I have someone to impress I send her as she’s blond, bog boobed, sharper than a sushi knife, smarter than your average anything and just a wonderful person generally. Her boyfriend and his beat mate are in town and wanting a tour and obvs some of Phuket’s finest weed. So of course I offered to take care of them. He’s a very nice guy, from the States, likes a party. Techy. But two best mates on tour in this town? Our interests likely part about 11pm if not earlier!

Being a business owner - the things you do for your staff 😅

Looking awesome 👏 bro n Co. Much respect my friend n Co. CL🍀

There’s always a differential for us - overnight is always more humid, the d/h still not quite dialled in - the snakey pipe into the AC you can see on the room room is partly why (($5 plastic hood being fabricated to improve that with the new roof)

Maybe my sorta double positive there in the way I phrased it is misleading, based on the not so distant history when we’ve had it going up in the day AND in the night - in theory the lights should help dissipate some moisture. But the background humidity also rises overnight here anyway.

It just feels like they breathe less towards end of life. Small sample size of two grows - but like 10% drop in 4 days - the back ground humidity here has risen last 2 days as well.

Not sure. If it happens again in 10 weeks then I’ll be more sure.

Nick

Maybe this explains better.

#1 is early/mid flower.
#2 is late flower.

All other things being equal. Background environmental conditions and control settings for temp/Rh etc remain unchanged.

My curve is not quite there but broadly I think it shows what I see.

But like my old economics tutor used to say, “a graph can speak millions of data points - and given some of you have such issues with spelling I suggest you lean towards them to explain things. You just need a ruler and a pen…”

Though - for that one no ruler to hand!
