Newbie DWC GSC Auto Grow: Please Help Me Get It Right

Hey Sid I think you made the right call on diluting your res to the lower EC. Roots look a little brown but that could be staining from the nutes, upping the beneficial bacteria dosage won’t hurt and give peace of mind this isn’t a root problem. Then I’d keep an eye on ph and give the plant a little time to recover. Autos can be tricky but hopefully she shows an improvement soon.

Hey Deville! Bro your pineapple is stunning!
Im fairly certain the browning is not rot. Still Ill add some Bactorr to it.
I think its mostly the CalMag that seems to almost immediately leave some residue on the roots, the Bactorr13 causes staining too, as do the micro nutes.
Im keeping an eye on it still, it smells like soil at the root area. Nothin funky.

But what do i know ? hehe...

Day 23 pH is stable @ 5.9 and EC @ 1.1
Are we worried about the fingers crossing ?

Im not seeing any obvious nute burn, correct ?

My alternatives are that I could change the nutes that Im using. I do have access to a couple of local brands, 3 part and 5 part. Change over see for a day or two and then decide.

Lemme know!
Cheers and thanks!

Yes. I mix em in a sperate bucket.
Adjust pH after adding nutes. let it sit for a few hours, adjust ph again.
Another couple of hours and mostly the pH is settled, if not, a fraction of a drop usually does it.
If im sure the pH is good, change the res out.

A little concern here. Ive been ignoring it cause Im not too sure of the accuracy of my EC meter to the 3rd decimal.
The EC has been slowly rising.
I diluted this bucket to an EC of 1.142 on the 31st of jan. Here is how its going. EC and pH values. Again, cheap instruments.

31-Jan - 1.142 || 5.8
01-Jan - 1.152 || 5.9
03-Feb - 1.147 || 5.9
04-Feb - 1.150 || 5.9
05-Feb - 1.163 || 5.8

Hey folks!

Quick update.
Day 26.
pH @5.8
EC @ 1.166

The discoloration continues, though I feel the newer set of leaves have a lot more even green.
i would also not be to worry about the roots, the Bactorr13 manufacturer asks to expect staining, and suggests that as long as the roots are smelling earthy (which they are), all is ok.

Size wise is she doing ok ?

Thanks as always!

Ok. So I have been warned bout making the water anaerobic by adding too much.. Manufacturer says a little goes the way.

Bout this much, give or take, in 4.5-5L of water :

4.jpg
How much is that.

Or u just guessing

Im using the Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juice 3 part. I dont think its even listed on their site anymore.
The quantity, Its a guess. A pinch. Instructions say 15g per 100L which would be bout 0.75g for 5L

Everything I read on that is it creates mykos, not an enzyme cleaner like Hydroguard or z7

Ok, ill have to read up on that. I havnt quite gotten around to studying the biology of it all, so is it a good thing or bad ?

U MUST measure that stuff

By adding to much it can, I assume, creat bad things in yer water

And yer nutes are not really designed for that stuff
Pretty sure it be better in soil

Chris my man!

if I may digress, you have no idea how much sorrow I have had to go through with soil. Either something real stupid i was doing, or something crap with the soil available to me, but I wasted a ton of expensive seeds.
Nothing I try grows in soil. Not just our herb, even lettuce, tomatoes anything. If its a seed it won't germinate, if its a seedling it just stops growing. I would love to grow in soil, but am just too paranoid for now.

If you would be so kind, and find the time to read the first post of my other thread 'salvage'..

Back on topic! Ok. So you suggest I mix a fresh batch without the bactorr ?

I dont have Hydrogaurd or anything similar really available here. The only thing I can get is Voodoo juice by Advanced nutrients at a substantial premium. Alternatively, I have been reading about running sterile buckets ? But im not too sure Ill even get those chemicals easy either. So....

Ah, almost forgot. The amount im putting in is certainly under 0.25g
