Newbie DWC GSC Auto Grow: Please Help Me Get It Right

Ah, almost forgot. The amount im putting in is certainly under 0.25g

Ok...that's good

I didn't imply grow in soil,I said it appears to be more designed for it

No hydroguard or z7 isn't all terrible

I'd suggest...and this is me

New water... 1/2 strength nutes, all pH to about 5.8-6
None of the Bactorr...

Try that for a week to see if any new growth starts without the yellow leaves

They are starving since it appears yer pH is pretty good, so only thing I can see us the Bactorr is doing something

Excellent! Thanks Chris!
No harm done. Will set bout mixing a new res now. Its been a week since the current one, so fair time for a change.

Im still confused bout what would be half strength, help a bit with what you would consider a fair dosage.

Here is what AN replied to my mail, querying Jungle Juice dosage :

· Cuttings and seedlings 1 teaspoon Grow, Micro Bloom gallon of water
· Mild Vegetative stage 3 teaspoons Grow, Micro, Bloom per gallon of water
· Aggressive Vegetative stage 3 teaspoons Grow.2 teaspoons Micro,1 teaspoon Bloom per 1 gallon of water
· Transition to Flowering stage 2 teaspoons Grow.2 teaspoons Micro,2 teaspoons Bloom per 1 gallon of water
· Flowering and Finishing 1 teaspoon Grow, 2 teaspoons Micro, 3 teaspoons Bloom per 1 gallon of water

At 10ml each of the 3part, we saw immediate destruction of the first leaves, and tip burn on the next ones.
I am currently at an approx of 4-5ml each of the 3 part, resulting in an EC of bout 1.1+
Bottle instructions attached.

Mild Vegetative stage 3 teaspoons Grow, Micro, Bloom per gallon of water

1.5 teaspoons of each per gallon, is half strength

i never go by ppm or EC ever... I'll check it only to see if my plants, in DWC, are eating or not

Thanks Chris!
Sorry to pester, but only so Im sure I understood correctly.

A couple of pages back, bout 24hrs after I mixed the bucket with full strength, the first set of leaves took a fair bit of damage, and I still have the tips of the 2nd set burnt (?), Fairly visible im my last image posted.

So you are saying that the cause was not excessive nutes ?

I have got bout 5L in my bucket. That would be 1.3US or 1 imperial gallon.
Mixing in the Micro now, and letting it bubble for 15minutes.

Ok, now im totally thrown off. What am I seeing wrong here ?
The instructions on the back of the bottle compute to 0.66ml/L at half strength. For a total of 3.3ml of approx 1/2 a teaspoon for the 5L res.

What to do ????

All right nutes mixed to an EC of 1.15 and a pH of 5.8.
Ill let it set overnight, adjust and wait for the pH to stabilize for a couple of hours tomorrow morning and change out the res.

One last question for the night please.
As per the email from AN, the dosage seems to reduce as the plant matures. Is this not odd ?

Cheers!

Hi all!

3 days after change, and the pH remains stable at 5.6, the EC however, as per my instrument, climbed a tad to 1.59 from 1.54. While the water level is dropping (I need to mark the bucket and stop guessing), so as per the chart, i Have added 500ml of plain water, to bring the pH to 5.8 and EC to 1.45.

The last pair of mature leaves seem to show a lot healthier color. However the side branch growth is very pale. The roots are still stained, but have no funky smell. The water color is dark due to the nutes.

How she doing ?

Your ec, and water level are way too high. She looks like she is drowning to me .
I would flush and restart with whatever you have determined to be an appropriate ec level ( less than 1000 ec for a seedling to be sure) with your water level at least 2-3 inches below your net pot . It looks like your net pot is sitting in the water based on the pics ...sorry in advance if it's just a bad angle. :)

Hope this helps! Good luck

Hey Hydro!
Thanks for taking the time!
The angle is off, the netpot is atleast an inch above the water level. Ill reduce the water level some more.

But so much conflicting information! heheh. Guess I just have to see what works.
So I started with a low EC of 0.5, including background. And that dint help, all the discolored leaves... Raised it to .8, same same.

Chris here was king enough to suggest I follow manufacturers instructions at half strength. And a mail to the manufacturer and they sent in this.

So, here we are. Im not necessarily seeing any nute burn... But what do i know!
I also did try full strength, and that killed off my first leaves overnight.

Im so lost! hehe! :)
But super thanks to all you folks helping out!

We have so much to learn about the plant no worries !
next grow you probs won't even need a feed chart ;)

More nutes won't necessarily resolve spots . Water temp, ph , type of nutes, strain, type of water, environment , light , they all play strategic roles ..you are in good hands here for sure

Your too Nothern!

So my environment is pretty under control, so far. Water temps are between 16-20c. RH 50 and temps are between 14-22.
Im not seeing any spots, more like some serious deficiency. I dunno, the pics say it all i guess.

Im going to after this hazard a guess and think its something with the nutes im adding. Maybe the Bactorr 13 messed it up ? May the AN nutes I have are bad ? Let us see, still hopeful. Good thing im persistent, problem is my wife has now started noticing me spending a bit of money and not really finishing anything.. :)
