New Grower: Excited To Learn

Well today was a good day I got my tent ordered and paid for, I went to Walmart to see what I can pick up and I found these crates and I think they will work perfectly for me to raise the pots off the floor and slide a pan under for run off, found a power strip and fans for airflow inside the tent. Got my geopots on the way as well so was a really good day. It's funny just ordering the stuff has made me just smile all day now I find myself thinking of the grow and how I am going to set up everything can't wait to get started.

Hanna Instruments HI 9813-6N Waterproof pH/EC/TDS Temperature Meter. Reading a bunch of great reviews only thing bad was holding the unit which I am in a wheelchair so it will just be on my lap $205.00 and calibration solution is about 25 bucks what you think?

Oops I am going to use a cheap testing kit for a month so I can start my grow I talked to a garden guy at the nursery and he showed me the information and how to use it. will be just a few weeks then I will have the meter. should be fine.

Well shit I am now refiguring the # on what I can spend so going to eat a lot of ramian noodles and bologna sandwich LoL ohh oh can't forget PB&J yum LoL

I think you have made a wise decision. Hanna is

I think youve made a great decision Hanna is a wonderful manufacturer. That one should last a while, and hold accuracy very well with proper maintenance. Remember the calibration solution should be made by hanna also... heres why. There are different scales even just TDS. Different manufacturers use different scales. If you keep the manufacturers the same it raises the chances you will get the correct numbers. If you are using the wrong stuff you might not ever know and your readings will be wrong.

Now.... im not trying to get you to spend more money, but there is a portable Hanna Groline meter that uses 1 solution for your TDS or EC measurement and you Ph. This makes it easier to calibrate. But, im sure its more. Im only saying this because of the ease of use. I cant say its a better meter than the one you picked out, its just easier.

My explaination for different solutions and their scales is a very simple one. Theres a lot more to this as you may be finding out. I think youve chosen well

Good stuff saves you money and headache in the long run. You only need to buy it once, and you can trust the numbers. Believe me when i tell you i know what youre saying...
I have had three lights by Platinum, 2 G8 lamps, a Spectrum King, 2 Black Dogs and a CMH. Ive spent over $4500. This isnt a brag. This is just how it goes sometimes especially when you listen to others, everyone has their favorites and willing to tell you all about them. But once your system is dialed and you know how to use it you will be growing the best weed you will ever find.

Oh good. Maintenance is vital to the operation of these things. If you let the probe dry out youre sort of screwed. Its good that your taking the time now to see what it takes to keep these things healthy.

Holly crap stltoed, that has to be one kick ass setup. How many plants you growing? My plan is to grow 2 plants at a time going with northern lights and then I will have a grow under my belt, I plan on growing northern lights again for the second grow then I will choose something that will kick the shit out me, just want to bake in my recliner and watch Scooby Doo. LoL

No haha i only have 4 of those lights now and one is a piece of crud and needs to go away.

I have 2 Black Dogs, a CMH and a Spectrum King. The S King is getting sold someday soon. The CMH too someday. The Black Dogs are great.

Northern Lights is an excelent choice for a first round. Its super easy to grow, a great producer, disease resistant, doesnt smell much, and puts out a great product. It was one of my first strains.

Thank you for all your help and support I truly appreciate it. The northern lights I did a lot of research on and nl and white widow are the 2 strains I learned from my research were the easiest and most forgiving to grow for beginner's I am still trying to get a handle on germination doing a lot of research on the ways too get the seeds started and put in there pots

I started out just like you. I read a lot and found that i like to help those asking questions, i imagine you will do the same. It can be lonely when you have questions that need answers and you dont even know what those questions are yet.

And I have 2 others I use for Roots and how they function and how different nutezs and deficiencies look and what to do for each looking effect. I also have the nutez website and I already called thier support desk and they helped me with picking the right size to use and told me to call back when I get growing and ready to use thier products I do love reading and researching and following journals here and the help that I have received is absolutely mind blowing.
