Neikodog's High Brix Sativas

To me everything is secondary to great high, you know a lot of character, but I appreciate plants that are naturally very strong and have excellent structure. I grew Malawi naturally... trancey, speedy high that I found best to be enjoyed on a good party. Too overwhelming for my solitary toking unfortunately. Every time I just wanted to enjoy music and have a good creative kick I was REALLY spaced-out instead and had to go for a walk  I think the numbers on that strain make her a real THC beast, but she's not something I can enjoy without a specific setting. I think I'm gonna look into Panama, cause I like what I hear and I'm looking into something calmer or more meditative.

There is just something about the Panama that agrees with me. It is my favorite buzz, it's a very happy content buzz. It can be good for social gatherings or just by yourself. I usually only smoke at night after work and I'm alone or with the wife 90% of the time and Panama is good for all settings. Malawi I think depends a lot on the phenotype you get. I prefer to be alone with that one. I smoked some waiting in line a the cannabis cup and that was probably not the right choice. I get a very definite phase shift with that one and being in a strange place wasn't very fun. It's one of the reasons we only stayed about an hour and a half. The blaring rap music at every booth didn't help either. Malawi is great for being alone with your thoughts and at home in a comfortable environment it is quite an enjoyable ride. Mine is up at first with the shift in reality then after about an hour is settles into my body. It doesn't put me to sleep but I don't have any problem going to sleep at night on it either. I've grown a lot of strains and the ones I mentioned all have very different buzzes to me and they are the same strains that everyone keeps asking for. They also happen to be my highest testing terpene strains. Usually 1.7-2+ %. Potency does NOT have any bearing on how much people like it or how stoned they get. It's all about the terps for me. I try to keep strains that have a different terp as their main terpene. If I have 2 strains that have similar terpene profiles, and they're both worth keeping, I'll keep the highest potency of the 2. I make oil and butter so that is the only reason I care about potency. That tells me what kind of yield I can expect. I hope that helps.

Doh! I smoked my Amherst Sour D in line, made my experience great! I walked along those concession stands laughing. More so because my father was with me and he was WAY out of his element.

After my harvest I will fawk around with my small tent and get it kicking. Your terp talk makes me get into research mode. I'll have to do terp testing. I was going to look into iron labs.....we shall see.

Had a WAB, aahhhhh.

:passitleft::ganjamon:

Neiko, I have a request. Kicknitup1 is looking for any lab tests that show terpene loss, and I recall you once shared lab results of both undecarbed bud and the resulting concentrate that demonstrated that we lose most of the terpenes in the decarb step.

Would you be willing to share any relevant test results with us in the study hall? We have a couple members getting ready to see if they can pinpoint when the degradation occurs as well as when decarb is most dynamic, and your lab tests will be a great resource for them.

I long for the day when I can get my oils tested.

just stopping buy whats going on neiko?

Hey there sticky. I harvested the 707 truthband yesterday and started on the Jamaican 1 but decided I should probably let that go another week. I put enough buds to 1/2 fill a quart mason jar and stuck it in the fridge. My first try at lo and slo. Sorry no pics, I had to get a new phone and it takes pretty shitty pics. Nothing looks like it is supposed to, lights on or off it doesn't matter. I'll have to charge my old phone and use that. It's supposed to be rather warm here again this week so I'll be working lots of hours again. I'll get an update up as soon as I can. I flipped the purple sherb to take the truthband's place. I am constantly battling plant size in relation to be able to flip them. These indicas take a while in veg. I have too many plants and not enough flowering room. Indicas may flower in 8-9 weeks but you have to veg them for months to get them to a good size.
Have a good day gang and I will get an update soon.
:Namaste:

hey if i remember right that 707 is your evening weed, look forward to the jamaican pics,i figured you have been busy your gunna like that lo and slow dry imo it's completely different it will be interesting to see what you think of it!:thumb:

The overloaded veg room is something I've fought with. At least you're not at a shortage of plants to fill your flower room.

I was doing some research on seedman last night, looking for high productivity strains. Do you have any suggestions? I'm looking at tangie, Apollo 13, bohdi's strange brew, 707 headband (I thought you were growing this one, just realized you weren't), and ciskie.

I want something that is energizing, and fairly clear headed. Something to help to fight your way through a bought of depression. It needs to be potent as well. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Peace

Battling the same issues here Neiko. Not quite enough flower room most times, but it always seems to work itself out. Usually with an uneven staggered harvest. For instance I took down 3 little plants this rotation that won't yield much, but was all I could stick in there last round with the bigger plants I had running. Now I'm back to bigger plants again and should get a decent pull in August again...and so it goes.

The 707 is anytime weed for me. It's one of my favorites. Doc said it was evening weed for him. I'm looking forward to the lo and slo. 707 is probably my best tasting weed so anything that improves that will be amazing.

My highest yielding plants ever were Panama, Tikal, Dr. Grinspoon and Clementine. All potent. I wish I could get a good handle on indicas. They never yield well for me. Again I think it's veg time. I can't veg in the big pots, I transplant and flip so the biggest veg container I can fit is a 3 gallon.

Good to see ya Gov, how was mom's visit? I need to go see her soon.

Sucks that your new phone has a crappy camera on it Neiko. It sucks when you have to get a new phone that is not quite as nice as the old one. Look forward to seeing the girls when you get the chance to show em :thumb:

I do not know if seedman carries it but Sue and some other are always praising the Ministry of Cannabis' Carnival. It is supposed to be a pretty zippy buzz.

Look for something with a balanced ratio or more CBD, but close in ratio Morglie. It'll do tremendous work at banishing depression. If you haven't tried a balanced ratio plant yet I recommend you give one a try. Even something with as little as 10% THC will hit like you won't believe with a balance of CBD, and it'll be a much more open buzz, clear-headed and energetic with some limonene or pinene in it.

Jack Herer is so sought after for mood elevation because of the higher levels of terpinolene. One of the classic strains for depression. If you could mix that with something high in CBD I think you'd have a winner.

You are going to be sooooo happy with low and slo. :slide: Don't forget to take them out once a week to air dry for an hour before you check humidity levels in the jar. I forgot to do that for the first couple weeks. They'll dry faster and more uniformly.

Thank you for the heads up on Jack Herer. I've always heard people really like it, but haven't looked into it much. $192 for 10 regs, seems steep, but for the real deal, and not a knock off, I can see that. I'll definitely be making seeds if I get Jack.

I'm actually looking at getting a balanced ratio CBD strain. It's indica leaning though, so I'll need a balanced ratio sativa leaning one as well.

Terpinolene is the main terpene in the purple pheno of Malawi I've been running. I can see where that could elevate mood, beyond the staggering high from. It's the best tasting cannabis I've smoked. If Jack Herer tastes similar that should be might fine indeed.

Thank you Sue. .
