Neikodog's High Brix Sativas

I'm a Virgo and I  spreadsheets. :cheesygrinsmiley: I check the price/oz on the bin tag on the grocery store shelf, and compare it to other price/oz tags for competing items. :cheesygrinsmiley: Then I mull it over and make a choice. It's important to make the right choice, right?

I also love being hyper aware, and I rarely fail to call life's bluff. Life bluffs a lot. :bongrip:

Oh you know I shop that same way. I mean if you don't look at the comparative price per weight how ya gonna know which is the better deal? We gotta break this stuff down for proper decision making. lol :slide:

Hey gang, got a little update on the sativa front. I jarred up 6.1 oz of Congo. Not too bad, it's really good too. I highly recommend growing the congo. It makes nice colas and isn't all scraggly like Duggs says. Anyway the Malawi and Panama Haze have just finished week 12 yesterday. I have snipped a couple more samples of each. Both plants are fading pretty good now.

Have a great day gang!

You make them very tempting Neiko. My BIL joined my patient group recently and he'll be helping with costs, a luxury I've not had up to now. I believe I'll consult with him on some seed choices. I have yet to order any of ACE seeds. I'm standing off to the side salivating as I watch you grow them to perfection. Sweet!

Thanks guys. What a nice way to walk into the site. :cheesygrinsmiley:

These buds make for a great reward!

Have a great day gang!

Right on, love them colas.

I usually never get the paranoid/anxiety, but I did last weekend, reading some replies made me laugh out loud.

My wife had a trip to Kentucky for mother's day, I was a single parent for a few days. I made an effort to cook dinner every night. I took kids to the movies on Saturday. I smoked bout 1/2 hr before, GG2 so I HAD to smoke, and that night I was making chicken shawarma. All of a sudden I was in the midst of a mild anxiety attack because I still had to marinate the chicken before I left the house. Had issues putting that shit together with spices and all. In hindsight there was no reason to panic, yet that small time crunch caught me off guard. Everything turned out fine of course....geez louise!

Made a new friend recently and he offered me some Laniakea seeds. I believe I remember Duggan having a Laniakea that pissed him off because of damn room scheduling/long flowering, but just one eh.

Hey Gaffle, evenin bud! Ya with the Lanny, the issue i had was they didn't have any legs. They needed a lot of supports , while the Lilly was perfectly OK. They (two), finished earlier than the "Lilly" did too . I had to hold off harvesting cuz wanted to get the Lilly finished, so the Lanny got a lil over ripe and turned out to be very , very tasty ,...but oh man it was almost too strong. I heard things from people that they mixed it with other stuff. Anyhow , i enjoyed having the Lanny. Cheers Gaffle, Neiko and friends!

The good thing about the Lani (for me) is because it's so strong, I simply don't use as much so it lasts a long time. Since I grow for myself, that's a good thing. It's also a moderate yielder. I mean, I just got almost 18z's off two plants that vegged for 6 weeks in 1 gal then 2 weeks in 10's before flipping so the yield was better than I expected this time, but the phenotype I have is definitely sativa-dom (no big fist-sized colas on every branch). The big ones definitely DID require supports in the last 3 weeks. Not sure why it's like that, but at least there wasn't any fear of the branches breaking as they were still quite strong. I have a few 4 weeks in right now and will run the entire bloom cycle on the new formulations. No supports yet. I'll grab a pic or two if interested.

The OG I'm running right now is strong like that plant Doc featured in his instagram display on root production. Like a little sapling.

Yeah man the lani is nice. I've run 1, still have about 1/2 a zip left. The wife loves it. Gov did the femanizing on them and C*rso did the breeding of the regulars. Cannatard provided the male for the project, a TGA Subcool Jack Skellington. C*rso bred that with his previous stran, OPP (Grand Daddy Purple x Forum Cut Girl Scout Cookies). It is a solid strain, great potency and the buzz is really nice. It will get run again in my garden. I have regs and fems.

Damn Gov, that is quite the yield. That 2 weeks in the 10's did it. 9 zips a plant is awesome!

100% Neiko. One was 8.2, the other was 9.5 in the jar. I don't trim super tight, so even if there's allowance for a closer trim and cut .5 from each plant, it's still a good haul. I simply say though...if it's covered in sugar, I aint trimmin' it. I attribute it all to that 2 weeks in the 10's and a more-aggressive prune mid-bloom. They were super-healthy all the way through and I added one more light over the tray. I can't add any more though. 4x P300's is all I can comfortably fit.

Thats good to hear. I need to get a second tent so I can get the Lani up and running ASAP! How many plants do you run at a time Gov?

I bought a ticket to the MI Cup in June (where u at Neiko?!) and I'll be interested in what the breeders have to offer. Will any classic sativa be there? One can only hope.

The sativa dissing comes from long veg/flower times? Is that where the "unpopularity" comes from? People have no patience and push out the 10week start to finish hydro. I cant say yuk because there are people killing hydro style, but I dig the soil.

Im waiting for the new on call schedule to come out at work to see if I can go to the cup. Im not really interested in staying for 50 cent or wu tang clan....wtf!

With the sativas.....it's the flowering time and some people get uncomfortable smoking them. My wife can't handle Malawi even though she thinks she can lol. Some just cause anxiety/panic or unpleasant thought patterns and paranoia. I also think they are harder to grow. Doc's kit makes it easy cause they get exactly what they need. With bottled salts I don't think I would run them as much.

I usually have 4-5 in my flower tray and 6-8 in my veg cabinet. That typically leaves enough "edge space" to put a plant in the tray for a week or two before I harvest the primary ones in it to get most of their stretch out of the way before I center them for the hard flower run. It also leaves enough space for an occasional outlier or tester too.

totally. I mean MI should get Seger or Nugent or somebody...wtf is woot WOOT anyway?

Could be yield and perception too. Most pure equatorial sativas have those loose wispy flowers that so many these days take for low-quality. Personally, I've moved away from stone-dense flowers. They're harder to grind up, don't have as much resin in them, and resultantly lose some complexity in flavor and aroma...IMO of course ......(though I can discuss the science behind it too if necessary)

Man Neiko the girls look like they are loving life! How big of a pot was the Congo in? Over 6 ounces a plant is a decent yield imo.

Man you guys make the lanis sound fantastic. GDP and gsc as a cross sound pretty stellar as it is, throwing the Jack skellington in can only.help. I watched Duggs grow it out and it seemed preform rather well. Do you have a journal gov?

The complaint I get it that sativas never really get you "stoned", y'know? :hmmmm:

You can smoke and smoke a sativa and you're more likely to get fidgety and confused before you get that sleepy stoned feeling that you get from typical pot. So it seems like it doesn't have much of a punch for those users. Add the odd bag appearance and it isn't considered to be good weed. They'll pull out their hard stinky Skunk-based buds and show off. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Peasants.
