Neikodog's High Brix Sativas

Smoke Report:

Clementine, grown in High Brix soil by a veteran HB grower.......

1. Bag Appeal. It's a bit on the dense side for what many would consider a Sativa, probably due to it's Lemon Skunk lineage and the way it was grown. Buds are green, with red hairs and profuse resin formation. I'd put the bag appeal at about an 8/10.....10 being the stickiest, most resinous bud I've ever seen in my life.

2. Aroma, bouquet: Opening the baggie, which is kept inside a mason jar at 62% rH. A moderately strong, definitely tangerine/clementine aroma is present almost immediately. If you gently squeeze or scuff a bud, the aroma strengthens a great deal, filling the room. Grinding up a sample is tantamount to using a generous amount of room freshener with Clementine scent. 10/10

3. Smoke taste: I smoked it on 3 occasions, two times out of a pristine piece and once out of a "very" clean piece. Room temp water. This product is as smooth as anything I've ever grown or harvested. It's a true pleasure to feel the smoke in the mouth, very easy on the lungs and no sore throat at all. I did cough on very large hits, but normal sized hits were quite civilized. There's a faint Clementine flavor and the overall taste is just above the "flavored steam" that High Brix cannabis is known for. There's also a bit of the sweet bakery smells that many of us recognize. 9/10.

4. Effect: A very warm, slightly upbeat effect. Not terribly strong, definitely not weak! I'd like to smoke this weed on a long drive, hike, horseback ride, or just during the day or in the early evening. The effect was very nice, but I'm used to really powerful and strong weed. 8/10

5. Overall opinion: I'd put this strain in my rotation today if I could get these same buds I've enjoyed no problem. It's that good!

Wow Doc, thank you for the kind words! That review put a big smile on my face :). You described the buzz perfectly. It's happy weed, it makes me chatty too. The banned one Cur*o gave me that cut about a year and a half ago. It has been a big hit since and we both keep it going. We have communicated on timing of drenches and each of us would try different things with it. This last round, I was in Jamaica when I normally would have given the CAT drenches so they got it a week later than normal and wow....yield was better, buds were denser and the overall resin formation was better. I can't wait to see what the new drenches do to it.

Personally I like the truthband better but I think that's just me. It has a very different terpene profile than the clementine.

Thanks again Doc!

I was gonna review the Truthband tonite or tomorrow......then the shatter. REally nice work. All of it.

Smoke report: Truthband

Bag Appeal: these are very well formed buds, covered in resin. A few red pistils on light olive green calyxes. As an experienced grower, I'd like to see those calyxes a bit more swollen, but I have no complaints with the resin. 8/10

Nose/bouquet: It's strongly minty, fuel infused and slightly fruity. It smell potent and inviting. Anyone who saw and smelled these buds would insist on trying them. This is top quality, boutique grown, elite cannabis with a massive terp profile. 9/10

Taste: It tastes as good as it smells. This is thick smoke with big flavor. It's got the resin flavor, a bit of citrus and mint and also a sweet earthy flavor lurking in the background. True connoisseur flavor. 9/10

Effect: strong, comfortable, slightly on the slower side, but overly heavy. I could see using this weed at any time, but I'd prefer it to be in the evening. It's potent. Super good. 9/10

Again, it's good enough to go for the best weed on the menu at almost any dispensary.

This is especially nice for me to enjoy this stuff!

Thank you again Doc for the kind words. I am still learning that strain and when to take it. I was probably a week or so early and will let go longer next time. It's funny how you say it's heavy. Everyone who tries it gives me a different response as to the effect. I had one person tell me it was very uplifting and they just had to get up and do something. I find it relaxing but functional. I really plan on perfecting and keeping this around for a while.

It's a keeper for sure. Work with it and it will just get better.....but it's great as is. Very well done.

I got a little update for ya's. I seemed to have missed counted the days last update, they are all on day 59 of flower today. They got 10 ml growth with 1 ml tea this morning (10 gallon pots).

Hopefully only 2 more weeks on Congo.

This Congo has great structure I have to say :passitleft:

I don't mean it's squatty, but the bud is a work of art. Long, column-like with very high calyx-to-leaf ratio. I can't say how heavy or firm it is, but it seems pretty much destined to be a real yielder. I'd grow it more in SCROG or LST, but you'd have to have a lot of horizontal space for that.

Ah, yes , horizontal space,...not me, i have 42" to work with, my choice , stealth grow:) That's my only reason for not growing more Sat. dominant strains,...well, that and they bloom way too long for my needs. My outdoor climate, and short growing season here , in Southern Ontario is not suitable for a true Sativa. I tried a SSH one year and i had to harvest it cuz it had snowballs where all the buds were one morning:) Anyhow , good to see you around Conrad.

Hey Duggs, The Congo is the 1st plant. It isn't scraggly at all. The Malawi and Panama Haze are. Congo is a bad ass plant. If it tastes like it smells, she'll be around a long time. I don't mind scraggly either, they got their own tent and they fit so I really don't care what they look like. They get good light penetration. As far as flowering times, I don't care on that either cause I have more than I can smoke. I'm looking for that special plant that not everyone can or wants to grow. Those are what I want to perfect.
:high-five:
