Looks great! So far how are you liking the hydro? Compared to dirt...

Ooooohh.....i knew someone was gonna eventually ask that. Other than the weight of the bucket change......shes REALLY easy! Just took me 3 days to get over my overwatering nonsense. Plus look at her colour, I love her lime green "ness", if that makes any sense.

The soil girls sure look much better today. The White Cookies is chugging right along too. I haven't seen those roots for a while. They're fish boning up nice and look very healthy. Have you topped the White Cookies?

Thanks Scrog....i think just the soil girls have been topped. Maybe all but my Alpha Dawg. How do you LST in a DWC bucket? She scared me a bit with the colour......had to confirm lol. She's all alone under the 400W HID. Her environment is perfect for her lol. Res is at 71 ° f .

You should consider topping it once.

I just use small wire and fold it under the dwc lid.

That's such a nice clean little set up..... What do you like more of this soil or the buckets? Are those the same strains?

I'll definitely be topping her tops.

I'm all about the buckets. That soil plant was an extra seed I had popped because I thought one of the originals wasn't going to make it.

That picture is from 2 grows ago. There was a White Widow in the back right, a G13 in the back left and 2 Mama Thai x Thai Stiks in the front buckets. The plant in the soil was a Mama Thai x Thai Stik.

I can certainly see the sense behind the buckets, they make things a lot easier to be honest with you LOL. Hard to decide though..... you've got incredibly large plants like bobrown14 and Van stank both grown in organic soil, then you've got some of the other monsters that I've seen on here grown in Hydro buckets...... I guess it's all strain dependent and veg time-dependent but still find it difficult LOL . I'm going to master the soil first and continue to screw around with my single hydro bucket..... Unless I get adventurous LOL.

Its the same plant Rider509 has growing now. I culled 2 males and had only the one female. I'll never do it in a tent again. It grew way past the lights and was a wild thing. It flowered for 106 days. The thing was massive, it did have some huge buds though and it yielded 1.48 pounds dry.

Ok, so would you recommend vegging for shorter period due to the size and stretch? I was thinking about a month would be all I would go on a sativa like that.

Hey Bob, you have any more of those Devil's Tit seeds? I can't find them anywhere!! Been looking for months!

No but I have clones of #6 large pheno and #3 short white knuckles version. Both are excellent and have what I need to turn one into a male. I've been trying to free up some space where I can experiment with making some male plants and then doing to pollination. I wanna build a separate space, which I have, I just gotta finish it. I grew my last male in the VEG room but I don't really wanna do that again. VEG room not too far away from Flower room... pollen can go anywhere. I need a tighter space.

I got a 10 pack and grew em all out threw 4 males in the compost heap.. Yeah why? Lesson learned. The PMB I kept the male and some seeds and pollinated the DT with it and also saved some pollen.... I'm getting better at this... at least I take clones now, of everything just in case. Keep an eye out on my journal. I'm coming down the stretch with the DT that I have several flowers with seeds in em. I probably need some help to make sure I don't harvest them before the seeds are ripe.

I pollinated to GTH AUTOs and pulled all but 3 of the plants and the seeds weren't viable yet. I'm letting the 3 plants with seeds go a while longer. They are @ 70 days on a 65 day AUTO... so not sure if its going to work or not.

Hey Guy.. 10 degree fluctuation isn't that bad really. Many many places cannabis comes from, there are very very cool nights. I like to let my temps fluctuate from 60-90F night to day and don't worry about it. When it gets over 90F then it's hot but still nothing bad will happen. Been up to 105F last summer lights on with fans of course. The bad thing is pests like the heat. Its not good to let the roots get cold. That will inhibit growth long term.

It was +1C today...wooohooo was balmy out. Finally could take the dogs for a long walk... dogs are the best. We are on our 3rd and 4th Chinese Shar-Pei... got 2 females this time and they are 4 month and 8 month still pups... 1 still with puppy teeth. Our last dog lived till he was 15 - died this past spring right before our trip back to our cottage up your way. Was our first trip to the cottage without a dog in.... can't remember 50 years maybe going back to when I was a kid. All good had to head back home to pick up the first pup, re-group and back to the cottage for 7/1 150th celebration! Celebrate life, every day is a good day.... and fishing!

Thanks again Guy for reaching out to other members to help someone else out. You don't come across sites like these very often and to know there is a place for all growers and smokers to come together is just awesome! You have helped me along since the day I joined this forum and I want you to know that's it's really appreciated. You go the extra mile, I will say that!

Bro that's like a half a year... you know there are strains that run 50 days in flower right?? Last time I ran a plant went 105 days, after chop I said the same thing "never again". + Time = + Yields tho for the most part. It was actually my first grow ... I was out of weed for a while waiting for grow to finish.


Equatorial Sativa like the Thai landraces can go 6 months or longer. That's a WAY long time. When the breeder suggests 15 weeks... I keep looking.
