Leaf tip spreading promotes tighter node development. So its easy......go to the new growth on each top and gently spread the smaller new growth. What it does is open the leaves up so that light can penetrate easier and signal the plant to develop the next node. At least in theory, thats how it works. When I was doing it on my plants I experimented with the staircasing training, I was getting really really tight node development....much more so than on the plants I didn't do the leaf spreading.
