My new grow space

Hey Guy, that downward curling droop is almost always a result of overwatering. If it's just the tips that curl down into a claw and your plants are dark green it would be a sign of nitrogen toxicity. Looking at the pics my guess is overwatering. Your mileage may vary. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. And don't take my word as gospel cuz I could be full of it.
Thanks Rider, I'll give it a couple of days but I would definitely agree with you, over-watering or nitrogen toxicity. I can't see it being nitrogen toxicity though because I am almost completely organic. Over the past two weeks, all that the plant has got as far as nutrients was concerned has been molasses and bat guano. My bat guano is 0-1-0. Other than my initial month, I haven't given any supplemental nitrogen other than the fox farm ocean forest soil that is growing in. My next logical guess after over-watering and nitrogen toxicity was maybe wind burn. I have closed the door on the cabinet to allow the plant to sit still for the day, see if that helps..... One of these must. I also just reintroduce just the larger light to the cabinet, if this doesn't clear up in the next couple of days, I will try switching back to my blurple.

Thanks for your input.

How are you guys determining how much wattage is being pulled from the wall? Is that something that the manufacturer I shared with you or something that you're able to measure....... Just kind of wondering? You guys know the whole lighting thing is kind of new to me.

Wattage pulled from the wall is actually not a good indication of anything other than what your power usage will be for a particular light fixture. The real spec - that is very difficult to get for many LED lights - is PPFD Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density. PPFD measures the amount of PAR that actually arrives at the plant. Look for PPFD diagrams to determine what area receives what light at what distance (measured in μmol/m2/s). The bigger the numbers in your grow zone, the better the light. You could have lights that 'pull' massive wattage but if it is inefficiently reflected, very little will get to the plant.

It's not nitrogen toxicity. I only mentioned it to differential the symptoms. And lighting won't cause that symptom either. It's a textbook response to over-watering. That plant is bloated like a premenstrual woman with a salt addiction.

Brings back memories of Physics class. Interesting stuff.

I believe that I was stoned for many of those lessons. I do know that I flunked that class. :grinjoint:

Yeah, I seem to recall something of the sort. I made it past first year, but in second year things got kind of cloudy. Good thing my degree is in Environmental Biology.

Lmfao.....Im a visual guy, thanks for that one...Eeeek! Too funny though, I take pride in watching them so closely, sometimes too close I guess. It erks me to have to wait a few days til she dries up . Textbook newbie......lmao.

On a different note, did get all 3 walls final insulated. Still have to tin tape the joints and vapour barrier.. Not going to do the ceiling in the reflective Roxul as I want to get an additional R12 up there. Then I can cover it with plywood so I can hang anything I want from it. Ill paint it white 1st.

That room is so sexy! I Did use the alu bubble stuff on the ceiling and looking back Its not really working for me... just wood to hang whatever you want is easyer :p

If I understand it right.. you Will tape the wood with alu and then finisch the walls? That would make a great isolation in my opinion!

Once again... great job!

WOW!! Looks great! You are going to be able to grow some BEAUTIES in there!!!
Five stars!

Yup. I have to cover the studs with aluminum duct tape. It's two fold; sexier to look at & Will help seal everything together. Once done, Ill vapour barrier the whole thing if needed. Just got bored of installing plugs....1/2 done those. They're difficult to work with and fit in the boxes when using 12/2 copper and their grounds.

Oh so jelly of that room!
Thanks Rider, it sure seems like a win win situation. No more hot basement, no more faint odour in the house (have to keep my cabinet door open for air circulation/exchange), larger area......not a lot of drawbacks so far. I'm stoked to get it completed and start trials.

Here's what the other half of the space is used for..... my baby.

Yeah, I thought about drywall Etc on the ceiling but the plywood just seems to make more sense to me seeing as we have a lot of requirements to hang things. I might use the bubble wrap to insulate or cover the inside of my next project but, this roxul with the reflective coating is the bomb.

Drywall is not good for high humidity anyway.

Hey man - been subbed for a while now. Lovin' your build. I did some research on Benjamin Moore white paint a while back fo my own temporary grow room. I went with flat snowfall white which has a light reflective value of 91.82. This is the highest LRV paint that they have. Gotta be flat though to take the most advantage of reflectivity. There may be other brands out there that are better but the Benjamin Moore website is pretty good for sharing their reflectivity values. Like I said our room is temporary until it's legal. At that point we will go full monty with a new space along the same lines as you. Cheers
