My new grow space

Ok I'm going to try to upload a pic with my phone, so if it don't work I'll know to try it another way next time. Thos os what goes on diring vaccination time.

And bear with my typing; I'm falling asleep.

Thanks lol....My biggest fear is the cold. Gonna have to do some trials out there first to check out the temp fluctuations. Also best configuration for exhaust and intake. I'm thinking both should start/eliminate into my shop. That way the icicles won't form outside and the air will be somewhat heated as it's drawn in from outside .

He Guy! Man what an awesome build! The exhaust and intake are key! I have my little room out in my shed... well I have a inkbird timer for heat and cool... and a little (real little) space heater that it controls to maintain heat... my exhaust was routed outside the room down the wall and back into the grow room to help maintain some of the heat... well my room is so well insulated I noticed the temp getting off the chart (41C) so I made a small hole( 2" long slice) in my exhaust line and made the fan pull in cool air from a vent I made in the floor... long story but it started good but now my whole shed is dripping with condensation! I went out tonight and turned on my propane heater and plugged in a dehumidifier to try and get it under control... the humidity in the warm air from your grow room may just soak everything in your work shop... just wanted to mention it for u to prepare! Other than that, I can't wait to see it! Lol! My Blueberry has taken off and they are building some nice big buds! Keep up the good work and all that tranny will pay off huge!! ..

I also have a grow room
Built into a exterior shed/building with no heat. I have been testing all kinds of ideas since last winter where I molded the walls out because I exhausted into the shed. This is a precious balance, and for me, the equation was as follows...

The exterior temperature and the temp in the greater shed area need to be within 7 or 8 degrees of each other to prevent the condensation and keep the humidity lower (it's 80-100% rH always here, so that's a constant challenge anyways.) I built the floor of the grow room 6" higher than the floor of the building, and sealed it all up. Then I cut 2 intake registers into the floor framing inside the general airspace of the building, and 2 same sized filtered openings inside the grow room. I use 2X 250cfm snail fans each inside the grow with a carbon air scrubber attached. One is pulling air thru the HPS and One to flush the air in the space. The door and all the walls of the grow are sealed, and both fans are vented out the bottom of the building to the exterior, so that causes the fresh air from outside to flush the air in the shed (thru make up air vents,) and the Newley flushed shed air is then pulled into the grow, where I use 3 smaller fans for excess air circulation. During the day it's heated by an oil radiator while its lights out, and the 600w HPS heats and drys the room at night.

Very best numbers I get are like this

Lights on
rH - 50%
Temp a 75 degrees

Lights off
rH - 70%
Temp - 65 degrees

It's too humid for best case, but it stops the condensation, and no mold at all. Also very happy flowers:)

Hope this helps, if not sorry for rambling on:).

Cheers

Huge help. I'm gonna break down exactly what your issues are/were and take the appropriate actions. Still have room for Moore vents in the roof. Thanks for the input my friend. I'm sure I'll have questions tomorrow.

Same Jesse, thanks a tonne. Had a rough night so I'm gonna analyze what you both have told me and see how my trials go too. Still have a ways to go yet before lights on.

So I'm a little puzzled as to why a few leaves on my Kings kush have decided to take a vacation. The ones in the foreground are droopy to say the least. Any ideas? Soils definitely not overly wet or dry.

Also please remember that they are Autos, two days ago I did a relatively large defoliation and this may be the result. The other to the right directly beside her are doing fantastic and praying to the new light that I installed the same day that I did the defoliation. The light is just my flower light. I watered all three last night with pH water to 6.5, as she seemed a bit droopy then too.

Also I wanted to update the fact that I caught my pH problem just in time, here is one of the leaves that was affected originally and it has made a pretty damn good recovery..... always, always, always pH your water correctly.

I have a Perfect Sun Dwarf Star (pulls about 230 watts from wall) on half the tent and I have a Viparspectra 600 (pulls about 275 from the wall) on the other half. They are both solid lights, about the same price, and both produce well. I am saving up for a top shelf light right now. I want the Spydr Fluence.....the dude from the grow store has two of them in his 4x8 and he pull over 1.5 grams per watt on just about every grow. The last grow, he got 4 lbs dried from 8 plants under the two lights. Its pricey though.....at about 1500 US dollars for the light. The foot print is about perfect for my tent....complete coverage.
I've never heard of that light, I think for the money I will probably end up using Rider509s advice and build myself something that is custom for my space. Anybody got any weed that allows you to stop tremoring LMAO..... I'm going to need about 1/2 ounce to smoke as I solder my light together. I'm sure I can build custom for a heck of a lot less than the one you're mentioning or the Spectrum King 600 that I had originally looked at.

(Edit.... yeah that Spyder light is pretty sick, really not too much different though than what Rider is suggesting earlier in my journal.)

Hey Rider, why don't you just ship me one of the lights that is now in your archives LMAO...... it's probably still light years ahead what I'm using.

How are you guys determining how much wattage is being pulled from the wall? Is that something that the manufacturer I shared with you or something that you're able to measure....... Just kind of wondering? You guys know the whole lighting thing is kind of new to me.

I am sure you could build one pretty close to the Spydr brother. I could probably as well, but for some reason electricity scares me and I would rather leave the house and have some peace of mind that I am not going to come home to a smoldering pile of ashes LOL.

I could open a gently used grow light store and offer up yesterday's "next big thing." LOL

The Kill-o-Watt meter is super cheap and will tell you everything you want to know and some things you don't about what you're pulling from the wall. Lowes, Home Depot, and Canadian Tire all carry them.

Electricity scares the shit out of me too...... don't tell anybody but I've got a electrician coming by to check on all my wiring before I liven it up LOL.

The kilowatt meter is definitely something that I will be purchasing on my way home then, Rider whereabouts are you..... Are you in western Canada?

Wise decision. I've been zapped with everything right up to 500V (low current, that's why I'm still here). Not something you want to fuck with, at the risk of sounding like a hypocrite.

Yep I couldn't agree with all y'all the two things I don't touch is electricity(cause it could kill you or burn everything to the ground) and I also stay away from plumbing... cause who needs a wet mess? Lol!

Gave the girls 1 tsp of Epsom salts and a dose of dolomitic lime tonight. I have a feeling that my suspected PH issue was actually calcium deficiency. Can't hurt to throw is a shot of Magnesium for giggles. Got home late tonight so no work on the space. I did have a design revelation though. I'll share my cabinet idea tomorrow. Also got my space heater tonight.....convection wall heat for safety.

Night all!

Hey Guy, that downward curling droop is almost always a result of overwatering. If it's just the tips that curl down into a claw and your plants are dark green it would be a sign of nitrogen toxicity. Looking at the pics my guess is overwatering. Your mileage may vary. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. And don't take my word as gospel cuz I could be full of it.
