Due to the scrog screen, I really didn't want to mess about with res, that's why I was trying to think of alternatives.
My single length of string was about as successful as farting in the wind and trying to use that to give your significant other a delightful and surprising Dutch oven for breakfast! Firstly, the fan simply evaporated the water from the string and stopped the downward flow. So, I switched that off after the first hour and left it to its own devices. However, the overall amount of water used from the bottle was pitiful and of no practical use at all.
Not a problem! I have now created another wick using three inch wide strips of cotton sheet that I plaited together and am currently testing that outside the tent. This seems to be much more appropriate and is dripping at the rate of about 1 drop every 5 seconds and I shall field test this later when she wakes. I shall try and place the wick between the bottle and the fan to prevent evaporation as I really do want the fan in operation while I'm away.
On another note, I thought the leaf curl issue would have slowed down growth, but she seems to have exploded into life overnight and it looks like the stretch has finally decided to show its head. This is indeed a very good thing as she is still bushy as fuck and I still want to spread her out some more to give space to all the budding sites still tightly crammed in places.
