My Mystery Indica Reveg

Greengo, just checking in

Just had a thought, if the string isn't cutting it, you could try and get hold of some wick for oil lamps. Might be better, not tried it myself, but it is designed to wick, and you can get it in quite wide pieces. Like I said just a thought.

:Namaste:

Great Idea pine nut; I never even considered that, however I think I already have it sorted.

I did promise I would take some pics and here they are. The quality is still not brilliant, but beggars can't be choosers.

So, this will be my last update for the next 9 or 10 days.

Before I leave I have decided not to do my weekly res change and just leave it topped up with my wick dripper working away, with 2 X 5 litre bottles set up delivering about 20 ml per hour each. This will deliver just over 8 litres of water while I'm away. Fingers crossed that this won't be too much. (Thankfully there is the plastic ground sheet in the tent as a justin)

I've also decided to run the exhaust fan 24/7 while I'm away to help keep the RH down, but only run the circulating fan during lights on.

Until then, live the green dream :)

Hey be safe on your trip and look forward to hearing from ya:thumb:

Ok, I lied. This will be my last update before I go away. :)

I was sitting here contemplating the situation when my lady starts to exude her exotic perfume. As it stands, the tent is simply vented into the room using 4 inch duct piping. I had previously connected up a number of lengths of this piping ready to attach to the existing piece and then simply vent it straight through the skylight. I figured that as this house is a 4 storey single dwelling if the odour did hang around in the air outside that people wouldn't be able to tell where it was coming from, but the odour would be there so this got me to thinking about a carbon filter.

Now, it should be clear that I like to solve problems without spending wodges of money doing so and so I looked into how I could build my own. I noticed a pringles tube next to me and, wouldn't you know it, coincidentally, it is exactly the same size as my vent pipes. Bingo! So, all I need to do is drill a load of holes in the bottom and the plastic lid and fill it up with activated carbon pellets and then attach it to the existing pipe with duct tape and, voila! It also so happens that I still needed to attach another length of duct pipe so it can reach the skylight. This pringles tube just so happens to be exactly the right length to do that. So, activated carbon is ordered and I'll put it together on my return.

Take care peeps and keep a grin above your chin.

Hi everyone; back from a fabulous 8 days away, but 8 days in which I was constantly thinking of and worrying about my baby. I was mainly worried that my drip feed system would deliver too much water and cause flooding issues, but I needn't have worried about that.

I arrived home about two and a half hours before she was due to wake up and I was itching to see her, but had to curb my impatience. I filled the time doing odds and sods until it was almost time and then waited apprehensively nest to the tent. The sound of the lights clicking on was accompanied by an awful racket and rushed to open the tent to see what was causing it; my first thought being that the extractor fan had somehow worked loose and was catching on the vent hole, but it was not that. I looked in horror at the two bottles I had left filled with water and saw they were both about 3/4 full. My eyes went straight down to the reservoir and to my disgust saw that it was virtually empty and the noise was coming from the pump!

The wicks in my capillary drip feed were dry as a bone despite one end of each still sitting on the bottom of each bottle. I have still to work how this could be so as the wicks were dripping nicely when I left. Many of the lower fan leaves had turned yellow and fallen off and two of my clones looks very sad indeed (they have since come back nicely).

I have no idea how long the reservoir had sat virtually empty, but it must have been at least a day and a half. I'm very glad that I hadn't changed the reservoir and even though the nutrient level had dropped from 10 litres to almost nothing, it wouldn't have been too concentrated as it dwindled.

As for the young lady herself, she is still showing the effects of the nitrogen toxicity, but the buds managed to grow at least another inch or so and the number of pistils has increased and the loss of the lower fan leaves is nothing to worry about.

I immediately gave her some fresh water and gave her a flushing from above and then redrained it and refilled the reservoir and added her nutrients.

I suspect the net effect of the recent nitrogen toxicity and this latest fiasco will be a lower yield than I initially envisaged and the likelihood of a lb now looks somewhat remote.

So, how about some pics to see how she is faring 24 hours later?

I'll start with one of the clones.

Yeah Green, it just ain't safe to leave the kids at home alone. I once upon a time set up a hydroponic with 40 gallons of reserve water and nutes. The pump line blew off and i came home to a wreck. The good news: it was only green peppers and tomatoes.
Happy growing

On the bright side, all hope is not lost and I should still reap an ok harvest. :grinjoint:
