My Mystery Indica Reveg

You will always be older than me, Methusulah! :)

So, I've had the fan off for a few hours and just made an inspection. Even though the outside air temp is not as cold as it has been and I have my no cost dehumidifier doing its thing, the leaves were "sweating" like crazy where they overlap and you'll understand that many of them will in a scrog, especially one as dense as mine. So, fan on turbo thrust for now to blow those fuckers dry. I've also opened up a top and bottom vent hole in the tent to allow air to be drawn in from below and warmer, moister air to be vented from above. I'll just have to make sure I close them up before I sleep to avoid light pollution from the holes whiles she sleeps. It is also worth mentioning that, even though I have removed over 3/4 litre of moisture from the air with my BS cheap arse dehumidifier in the last two days, my res required at least 1 litre to top it up. (haven't topped up for a few days :( )

Fortunately, the arctic conditions have lifted so I will definitely have to get my arse into gear and put together the extraction fan tomorrow. I have a shit load of work to do as I am a freelancer, but priorities are priorities.

On a more positive note, more and more tops are starting to more closely resemble the last pic (not mine) that I posted, however I am still waiting on this awesome stretch I've been hearing so much about. There are loads of thick 'main' branches with very heavy and thick growth associated with them filling up squares in the screen, often with 3 or more thick branches in the same vicinity that cannot yet be moved into adjacent squares, but they really aren't stretching much at all. The only ones doing the stretching at the moment are still the tertiary and weaker branches with much greater distance between the nodes.

I tried to take some 'close ups' with my laptop to show the rapid onset of pistils, but it was like whistling in the wind. I really should borrow myself a decent camera as the buds develops as I would really love to document their growth for my own sake as well as to showcase here. Who really cares about shitty photos where you can't even see the pistils let alone the trichome development? We love eye candy!

Also, a cautionary tale, I have been somewhat careless when moving growing tips and accidentally removed at least two nodal growths in the process. I have since developed a way of tucking where the nodes are not subject to decapitation. However, in the big scheme of things, with the number of budding sites I have, two decapitated nodes are about as important as a minor water spill on the tent floor.

Hey everyone, welcome to 2017 and may your year be full of successful harvests and much learning.

I saw a quote from James Blunt recently.
If you thought 2016 was bad – I’m releasing an album in 2017

So we move into the new year with a mixed bag for my burgeoning foundling. I finally managed to install the extractor fan and vent pipe and it was a lot easier than I expected. Being a 3 inch fan I assumed it would be 9 volts and was preparing to cut an old mobile phone charger and splice it onto another length of cable and then onto the fan itself to give me the length I would need. Fortunately, I did something smart and had a closer look at the fan and was pleasantly surprised to see it had the same voltage as the local mains supply and simply cut the cable off a vintage magnetic tape telephone answering machine and connected that straight up. I solved the problem of how to mount it by cutting a square of polystyrene and hollowing one half out to fit the fan and the other side to house the vent tube and voila. Even though it is only a 3 inch fan, the force at the end of the exhaust outlet is still sufficient to blow out a cigarette lighter before it even gets into the exhaust current, so I'm sure this will greatly assist my humidity issue.

One thing that I neglected to take into account with the flip to the bloom lights with their increased heat, was the evaporation from the reservoir and I was negligent in maintaining levels as it had never been an issue before. As I mentioned previously, I had to add over a litre of water the day before yesterday and she really didn't seem to like that as the new growth is showing the same curling of the leaves I encountered at the beginning of this journal. This time, fortunately, I could recognise the symptoms immediately, but it was ok as I had already taken remedial action before she did. I'm she will recover quickly from this and I will know to be more vigilant.

The res was changed and the nitrogen level drastically reduced and the P and K increased now she is flowering. She is still not showing much sign of the stretch but that could be due to the nitrogen toxicity, but the pistils are still sprouting everywhere (even on the clones) and the growing tips have taken on a completely different appearance and are now very evidently young flowers.

I'll try and borrow a decent camera tomorrow to better show these new developments.

May the green gods be with you and bless your gardens.

Hey Old man,

I just went to have another look at your last pic set and it looks like you have a problem with post #167 as I ain't seeing any images.

Same with post #177
