My First Time Growing

Here are the pics of the bud of the plant I intend to harvest if no one has any objections. The first is just a normal viewing size:

Next up are the best close ups I could get of this bud:

O.K., Unless someone says I shouldn't, I'll harvest her on Friday, That would make 77 days in flower tent.

I can't give you harvest advice, but man she is looking frosty! :thumb:

Just to have a record for myself, Today is the day I planted the seed for Nirvana's Black Jack Regular. Just waiting for it to sprout.

Have you settled on a planting preference? I know you've tried different ways. Last time I planted any, I did it Peejay's way (in soil, using a pen to get the right planting depth), that he explained on your journal and I had great success. :thumb:

I just want to mention that I really liked his explanation of how and why to plant at a certain depth, and I think the "why" is important - I've had seeds germinate where the outer part of the seed sticks to the first set of leaves and ruins the seedling, BUT if you plant deep enough, the friction of the soil on the way up scrubs the outer part off the seedling. It makes sense, seems like it worked for me and I'm convinced. :high-five:

Yes, I finally settled on germinating them in the paper towel until they have a tap root and then plant it exactly the way P.J. taught. Having better luck with seeds though now that I added the paper towels.

I have to agree with JimmieJ, Amnesia has some awesome top colas! Did you harvest her this weekend?

Looking forward to what you did and hope you are getting rested and better.

:circle-of-love:

She is harvested and still drying, But I was going to try to get pic's today to show the harvest even though it hasn't really been trimmed yet to give an idea how much she provided me but my B/P was high today every time I took it every hour or two, so I only rested today which is what the Doc said to do if that happens and only if I have no other problems. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get some pics up and update my plants here. Thanks!

OK, I have 1 pic of the Amnesia Harvest from Friday morning. I couldn't believe how dry it got over 3 days from just sitting in a cabinet in my dresser in a couple empty cardboard boxes. After feeling them, they obviously need more time, But that's the fastest any of my limited experience has seen it start to dry so fast. Anyways, More interestingly, Here's the yield on the Amnesia, I'm gonna guess 1.3 oz once it's completely dry, but that's just 4 plants of experience guessing.

I put the can of pop in the pic for size reference. Beautiful tops on these girls. Also, It is an excellent smoke, Works fantastic on my pain, I have been able to cut my narcs down (On my own) by almost half of my daily dosage,k Once I get my MMJ card, I am 100% sure now that I can replace the narcs with this wonderful plant! BTW, due to a bunch of tests and appointments, I'm not sure how much I'll be online this week. Talk to you guys soon.

Congrats on the Amnesia! And yes, they are some nice tops on her. :)

Just curious what your humidity level is in the area that you dried the Amnesia? Do you remember, or did you check it all? If they are drying too fast, that's a sign of low humidity levels.
I am now drying in paper bags in a dark pantry. I hang a wet towel in the room on top of an old camera tripod and it seems to do the trick just fine.
There are lots of tricks to get humidity up if needed. :)

I am so happy to read that you are sure you can get off the narcs! This was our number one goal. Plus reps to you dude!!!

Carry on..will see you soon.

Sorry about being gone the last few days, I was in the hospital for 4 days (since Tuesday) with BP & heart problems plus other problems they found. I know everyone is sick of hearing that I'm sick, but figured I owed you guys an explanation why I was gone so long. I have some tough times ahead medically but hopefully will stay out of the hospital. I think the only reason they let me go today was because I'm on Medicare. I have 3 different Doctor appointments this week plus some out patient tests they couldn't do while I was in because I also have an infection that can be passed thru common touch until I've been on the heavy duty antibiotic a few more days. I JUST got home now and jumped on here to explain. If I'm doing OK, I'll try to get back on tonight and answer Canna's question about the humidity where I dry the harvest after I put the gauge in to tell. Be back soon hopefully.

Do not worry about getting back here. You take care of you first.
Damn dude, you need a break from all the up and down health issues. I'm sure the heat isn't helping you any either.

Stay cool, try to rest and do not worry about getting back to any of us until you are settled with all of this.

Love ya, and please say Hi to the Mrs. for us. It's got to be rough on her too.
