My First Time Growing

PJ, OK, here is the inside of the bookcase (Got the old camera working, but sorry about the pic quality) The first one is the seedling of the New York Power Diesel, Next is one, I have looked for, but can't remember the name of for now, But I think it's was a Bubba's gift.The next is is the DCSSH followed by the Truthband Clone, (everything is feminized, I know that). All plants are feminized, I just can't find anything written down to ID the one, I do have room for one now so you you know. From now on, it's Duct tape on the front of every container. So here they are for you to get a look at them:

I hoped these pic's help out. If you do decide I should pop a seed: After finally getting the seeds figured out, These are what I have (minus the ones I received for another wonderful anonymous donator):

BTW, when I said I was dumb and mixed up the pic of the picture of Casey's bud (in the last post I made) was the one with all the pistols going crazy still. I just wasn't paying a attention to the pics as they got posted. You can see a much more recent better in last post picture of Casey's Bud. I feel so dumb, I may have smoked that day for my back and that just slipped by. Depending on your determination of the buds on Casey, She may be ready just so you know, But I'm NOT the expert (yet). That's it for now, Just wanted you to be aware of the entire grow and between the ones in the tent I sent yesterday and the ones vegging, that covers all of them.

I have a question. What is the best way to store your nugs, I'm out of mason jars and soon will be harvesting Casey at some point. Is there a way to deep them dry in a specific container or something (Ziplock, etc)? I'm just curious as I know I will need room when I harvest Casey.

Also, Right now, I've stopped smoking as I want to go see the that Doc about the severe Fybromyalgia and don't know if he will be doing a urine test or not. So I have to wait 30 days before I can see him, Bummer on my back and back to narcs for this month. But it will be cool, getting the card as soon as I can afford it. That way if we have to call the ambulance, I don't have to worry about the smell if they come in with the PD.

Also, Happy Mothers day to all of you or your wife's! I hope it's a great day for all the mothers out there!!!
 
When thinking of planting seeds,consider you may want to take clones of every girl before she goes into flower - So if you feel your DCSSH is nearly ready to flower, she is ready to clone !

When I am lucky and get a big harvest I use pickle jars:), but I'm in a house with 2 teeenagers, we recycle plenty of pasta sauce jars.
When I pass through a thrift shop, I always check to see if they have tall thin pasta jars or cookie jars with seals.
I have an ounce in a plastic baggie, but that will be gone in another week.

You can store dried buds in any airtight container. A ziplock will work in a pinch. A tupperware type thing would also be fine. Keep saving larger jars when they get emptied of food.

The SSH will need to go into flower in another week - it could go now if there was room but let it wait for Casey to finish.

Thanks Rad about the containers, I was just worried there was a container(s) out there that everyone says "don't use" for whatever ever reason, As long as I don't need to worry about it I can find all kinds of stuff.The DCSSH is still small and I don't know if it's big enough to clone yet. But even if it's not big enough, If I waited a little while and cloned it, I would have a plant further along....... Thanks Rad!
 
I use a LOT of pasta Jars too! They are great when you run out of Mason jars. Don't pack your buds too tight in jars either, keep them a bit loose so air flow can get around them to avoid damp areas that promote bud rot.

Thanks Canna. I do have and still do have them, but I figured it out a little while ago. I was having a total brain fart. It was the one thing I never got around to labeling, The Amnesia clone. Dumb mistake on my part. Just shows why I HAVE to work on my labeling before I forgot something again. Oh well, bone headed mistake on my part. All plants are labeled now.

Don't feel bad, I have two clones planted outside right now that I forgot to label when I put them in to root. I think I know who they are....but not for sure. Happens to many of us, I'm sure.

I don't have a plant hear big enough to go in to flower yet, just so you know. If you were referring to the DCSSH, that puppies still a baby, and that is actually my oldest plant in veg, Had a little stall there for a while on getting new plants either started or cloned. I may just have to ration out my medicine when I'm running short like will happen because I wasn't thinking about starting more than one new one occasionally. But, What can ya do? You deal with it especially if it's horticulturaly supplied. Besides I will still be officially on narcs if I need them for a while until I can afford the card that makes me official and gives time to get the timing down between plants.

Just thought I'd say "Howdy" to all of you! Everything is just in a growing pattern right now, and other than maintenance, Nothing new here, even my back is the same (figures, it's when I want to be clean for a drug test if it comes up, and only have what I'm prescribed show up on the test. I have no idea if they do a dtrug test for fybromyalgia but since it's to get diagnosed with it so I can get the MMJ card, I don't know what to expect ). But I thought I'd just say hello to everyone! I hope you are all having a great day and may your plants grow ever greener!
 
Hi smoke, I am as well learning from the peeps helping you. I have been on opiods for the past 16 yrs and have 2 implants in my spine. I live 24/7 in pain, and since I went on medicare my supplemental insurance does NOT cover my meds. where I used to spend $95 a month now is closer to $600 amonth and that's just part of them. after finding this site I have decided to grow some and see for myself if I can help myself... so far my plants are living . thanks to all who help those of us first timers here. I am very greatful

:welcome: Dutchess! I feel for you, Our physical problems sound VERY close in type AND age from the sound of it (except I had to have my nerve implant removed as it was making me septic from all the infections it was giving me). The weed DOES work (at least for me) and is a hell of a lot safer than the narcotics, it was also helping my depression and P.T.S.D. (I have quit smoking for 30 days for an upcoming visit with a different Doc to get diagnosed with severe Fibromyalgia to be eligible for the MMJ card), You need to get a perpetual grow going so you always have medicine, I"m still working on my timing, but it has come a long way since I started and ended up lucky enough to find the help I needed.

I agree, the whole prescription program under Medicare is terrible, I still have to wait a few years before I'm where you (Medicare prescriptions) are and hope to be off most of my med's by then (getting rid of the pain drops the need for narcs, and lessening the pain may bring down my B/P for example, another med, gone hopefully). I'm hoping to have it get rid/treat my depression, anxiety and P.T.S.D. active journals and then start a new thread) and start asking people questions (here and other threads that interest you) and you'll end up with a group of growers who want to help get your plants up and running. It is the absolute BEST thing I ever did to help my medicine situation, and since you want it for medicine also, people will be more than willing to help, I think that's the reason I've had so much help besides the facts that these are also great people! These are a great group of people/friends and I doubt I'll ever get so much help again as I have from this group. I couldn't ask for more from them and you will be able to have a bunch of people more than willing to help you out. Once you've started a journal (if you do), let me know and I'll send you the instructions for making your signature so people can use it as a bookmark to get to you.

Anyways, Welcome to my journal, I really hope it has helped you!

Getting off those nasty narcotics is such an important thing, not just the cost, but the long term harmful effects! You are stepping into a whole new way of healing and staying healthy. Good for you!

Very generous of Smokey to offer to have you post questions here if you have them, but then.....I expected nothing less of him.

PJ, Just so you know what I'm working with, Here is a pic of the DCSSH (Delicious Critical Super Silver Haze, sprouted 3/6/16) my largest plant in veg. I will need a while to let it grow a while before flowering (IMHO). I have 2 more clones (in 1 gallon pots) and 1 seedling that just went into her 1 gallon pot. Here's is a better picture of the size of the DCSSH:

Both plants appear to be stressed, but they have just been sitting in the bookcase bottom. I have recently started opening it during the day to keep it cool and fresh in there.
 
Thanks Smokey, and everyone, Unforunately I live in one of those states that classify cannabis as a schedule 1 drug. A drug that can send you away for a long time...I am scared somewhat but have taken an attitude since my usual meds plus the pain patches is now over $600 . I have been up and down on a roller coaster because after my insurance since some 7 mos ago will not cover my meds, the meds I can afford is not working and my body has been going thru withdrawal for at least that long. I am so angry ,,who can afford that kind of money every month,,not me..anywho, I decided to grow my own and see if it will help....I feel I have no choice but to try on my own, this plant that I have researched for many months.. I bought seeds and received them 1st week of April. germination was good, but for 2 to 3 weeks they stretched because I didn't have anywhere to put them to get light.....then hubby bought me a greenhouse. they went in there and every night I had to put the heater on them as it got down to 40 degrees most nites and then somedys they got too hot and temps around 100 degrees even with fans on... So hubby bought me a grow cabinet and I have been following everyone on this site to know what to do next. my boxes are 3 feet and 4 feet. he got me 2 because like an idiot I after some miscalulations ended up germinating all seven seeds....... they all had 5 nodes and last night I pinches some of the top of all of them and raised them to about 18 inches from the lights and they have taken off, just since last nite. I wished I had thought to raise them earlier to be closer to the lights....anyway this am I checked and they r fine I think. I put 4 of the plants in a 3 gallon pot . don't know what Ill end up with but didn't want to throw one away..... I do have a question tho, is now a good time to start nutrients. I bought the line from Farm fox and got 3 separate kinds. could someone tell me what dosage I should start them on and when would be a good time to start to flower them since they r in a limited space. hubby at 70 still works partime so he got me what I needed to strat this venture. He has been with me for 30 yrs next month June 14 will be 30 yr anniversary....he has been with me thru this whole miserable painful life of mine, due to back degeneration.. Thanks for any help from anyone. Glad I found this site for sure. everything I have done till now has been with the learning from all the nice people here..thanks again
 
Thank you cannafan, glad I found this site. this is mt first grow and I am hoping one that produces some results with my pain and depression and help me sleep at night. I was old from the site I bought the seeds from to get the bluedream strain, so tht is what I am growing.. last week I ordered white cookies, so I hope they know what I need cause I sure don't.. I pray these work and I can get them to fruition. that's my plan. thanks again for giving me a warm welcome
