My First Time Growing

Washing is an optional step and you'd need at least 2 and better yet 3 big plastic buckets, a cup of lemon juice, and ~1/4 cup of baking soda. Since dragging big buckets of water around would not be the best thing for you just skip it. Your plant has had no pests and was grown indoors. You can try washing another time and see if you think it makes a difference.

What you want to do is cut off branches. Follow a major branch down the stem as far as you can and cut the whole branch off. You'll have something like this. Your long branch may have side branches too. That's no biggie. You can hang the whole large branch with side branches attached.

Next, pull off all the big fan leaves (any leaf with stem on it.) You can use your fingers to pluck them off. These leaves don't have a ton of medicinal value but you can save them for making some of the liniment Shiggity was talking about. Put them in a ziplock bag or similar and freeze them.

Here is the branch with the fan leaves pulled off.

The branch can now be hung upside down in the dark closet to dry. I don't have a picture of branches hanging, but I'm sure you've seen some around. Maybe if someone else has one they'll post it.

There is no need to do the whole plant in one go. If you get knackered you can just put the plant back in the flower tent and it will be fine until you want to trim a little more.

No doubt you're excited to do this Smoke! Don't do more than you should. If you need to take another day or two to get the back pain settled down it's not going to hurt anything.

Do you already have an Amnesia clone going? If not, it might be nice to take one before the plant goes into flower.

Thanks PJ, I appreciate the help on the harvesting the weed off, I was just gong to ask that in the morning. And yes, I do have an Amnesia clone going in a 1 gallon pot now. I'm taking it very easy, My back is just starting to feel a little better and I don't want to screw it up. I'm babying my back.

Just wanted to log on real quick to keep you guys up to date with the grow. The transplant is the amnesia clone and is in soil now for 2 days, She's already shown sign of growth and coming back here's a pic:

The Truthband clone as well as the DSCCH will be transplanted into thru big pots in the next day or 2 (just depenbding on which way I'm feeling up to doing it). I forgot to get a pic of the New York Power Diesel and what's in the bookcase, That's it except for those in the flower tent(Casey still, but not for long. Minnie me as well The truthband and the Amnesia are what's in the flowering tent right now. The next time I get up I'll take tho pics so you can see them. I still haven't done much defoliating to the 2 new ones in the tent yet just because it hurts right now But I'll get to it.

Oh well, I just wanted to stop and keep you all up to date. I will check in later. Thanks for being so patient with my and my back, I really do appreciate it a lot!

So cool. You can totally see how the perpetual thing works. Even without the big tent set up things are all, chugga-chugga, chugga- chugga, WHOOOO Whooooo."

You totally get it. Cloning is a BIG thing and you did it almost effortlessly. You never had a Dead Clone Society membership card in your pocket and that's saying heaps!

First and foremost, keep that train running down the tracks. No rush on the big rig. It's going to happen, but lets make sure it works so the train doesn't run off a broken trestle and explode in a ravine.

Is this fun yet? If it ain't, it will be soon. Never discount the therapeutic benefits of growing and nurturing your own healthy medicine.

Luff ya, Smoke. :high-five:

Top Super Silver at the red lines. We want to double-up the "leaders" and keep her squat. The lines may not be perfect but I know you get it.

Top Truthband too. Cut those two tops that are growing fast.

Dude you are rocking it with those healthy plants..

THe nice thing about growing is you really don't have to do something every single day :)

With my back, That's a life saver! Considering I've been doing a little every day for maintenance stuff as well as my first harvest on my first plant broken up over time.

Thanks for all the help PJ! I finally got Harley harvested off (took 2 days because of my back, but the first thing I did was cut them off the plants so they could start drying right away) even enough though it's still a touch damp in the middle (I still have it all laid out drying still), Just off of Harley I got 2.3? oz.'s (I bought a scale years ago for this day) and I know it be less once it dries completely and that doesn't include the trimming stuff I put away to make the rub for my wife's problem. I still need to defoliate the Truthband and the Amnesia, as well as transplant The DSCCH and the Amnesia clone need to go into 1 gallon containers (which I'm hoping to do at least one of today if my back lets me. My first plant is actually done, I can't believe it still, If I had virtual cigars, this is when I'd hand them out if I had any! Thanks to EVERYONE who has helped me out. I'm not going anywhere, but being able to smoke my first plant and help with the pain in my back is gonna be awesome as soon as it dries out completely.:high-five:

BTW, I will cut those plants where you pointed out today PJ, Thanks!

Yes :bravo: I can hardly believe this day has come. And it only gets better and better.

I am very happy!, I will start cutting back my narcs as soon as the weed dried out! Sooner actually, I forgot I dried out a bud and still have some. This is 1/2 the goal (and I put all the trim from my harvest into a mason jar with rubbing alcohol and am shaking it every so often for 24 hours to see if it helps with the wife's arthritis (I still have to add the leaves once I defoliate the Truthband) and then I'll have the other half of the goal. Even if I have to wait a little longer to get my MMJ card due to price, doesn't mean I have to take all those narc's and save them for a bad day after I'm off them.

Just figured I'd keep you all updated with the plants. This first pic is just Casey:

I even used a loupe and couldn't get a good pic out of it. I just don't have Canna's talent for picture.

Next is the Delicious Critical Super Silver Haze:

Next we have The Truthband in flower:

Here's Minnie me:

See next post, wouldn't put it in post messsage

That's all of 'em for now! I hope you guys enjoyed the pics. As always will keep you guys updated as more stuff happens.

Harley, Casey, and Minnie are fun looking plants. I wonder what they are. The pistils are just crazy still. Is the high zippy?

Try to get a dry bud picture sometime, Smoke.

Casey looks like it can go longer.

Congratulations on the harvest. Really cool. :circle-of-love:

It might not be art, but this photo was informative as it shows that Casey is still putting out new , white pistils.
In my mind, New pistils = More harvest weight. More time before harvest.

Nice photo show Smokey! I agree that there are fresh pistils there. :)

I think you have a photo program that can blow up pics right? If so, for the close ups..try backing away a bit more from the subject (in this case, the bud) until it looks clear and take the pic. Then blow it up in the photo program until the main subject fills the picture for you.

If you get too close initially, it's likely to be blurry because of hand shake. Anytime you have high magnification the chances of motion blur increase dramatically. It may look sharp when you get in there, but once you take the pic the vibrations and slightest hand movements affect the outcome. Using a loupe, the tiniest movement of your hand (just the action of pressing the button to take the pic) will cause motion blur. I actually tape the loupe directly onto the lens of the camera or over the lens on the back of the phone to reduce any chance of movement.

Practice when you're bored and see what works for ya.

I also would like to know if your effects were "zippy" or body meld (couchy relaxed).

This is so exciting to see results, and you have done a wonderful job!!!
