My First Outdoor/In Ground Grow

🙏 PS I staked the lower largest 6 branches And I feel this and the tomato cages will keep the main branches from breaking off the main leader during high winds.

But, I'm still not comfortable with the weight and length of the colas. Based on what I'm seeing now I could see high winds causing a problem with these as they continue to gain weight.

This tree is covered with heavy colas and I don't think it's feasible to try to support each one?

Tie the heavy branches to the main stalk so they don't get peeled off from the high winds. Most of the branches in the top third of the tree will be fine. It's the middle and lower branches that are longer that may peel off the stock from high winds.

Tie some paracord a foot or two above the branch you want to support on the main trunk then tie the other end where you feel it will best support the branch.

I just ordered paracord. Thanks brother man!

Hey @Terrapin Station here is a plant I tied & had stakes in the ground pulling the branches down
Trying to keep it under 6 feet
I also had all the branches tied to the main stem to keep them from breaking off

I had one plant that the lower branch snapped off and was only holding on by the outside skin
I tied to the main stem & wrapped some take out napkins around it & splashed some water on it
It survived

Just found your thread. And since we’re both in MD, I was comparing the progress.
You have to plan for the next month. You’re gonna need a lot more support!!! I’d run to Lowe’s and grab some 10 ft poles (2x4s) and stake all around your girls. At the least, wrap it in fence netting.
Look out for PM!!! The rain today and next week should be ok. But…🙏🏽

IIRC, he's in Southern Ohio.

I just tied up the branches on the interior of the plant. I am very happy with the support this has provided and feel good now about things now if we have strong winds here in SW Ohio.

This paracord and this technique is excellent. I feel like I should just put "Thanks @Trump " in my signature line here. Thanks man, you have been a real blessing. 🙏☮️

It's hard to even water these trees without getting sticky.😂

Listening to RR's song and staring at weed growing, what a great day! Growing weed is so addictive in a good way. ☮️

I just found out I have to go out of town unexpectedly tomorrow. My tree will completely wilt if I leave her to fend for herself.

I've been experimenting with a makeshift slow drip irrigation method. This plant is loving it and hasn't looked this good/erect since she started flowering.

I'm thinking drip irrigation is a thing. Especially as opposed to watering 4-5 times a day. The media stays "wettish" constantly something I've been having trouble maintaining lately.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions for a more sophisticated drip system with a timer please? Thank you. ☮️

PS this is so wild. I'm sitting here watching these buds/colas plump up and double in girth before my eyes.

Man I haven't been watering this plant enough. I'm pretty sure drip irrigation is a thing, especially this time of the year.

Man you guys might think I'm drinking shroom tea now but this plant is totally stretching before my eyes now like it was just shot out of a cannon.

I thought it was done stretching and headed for the finish line.

I love growing weed. ❤️

How's she smell?
That's so spot on of you to ask this man!!!
Since I hooked up the drip irrigation today she smells very strong all day. Not just in the morning and the evening.

Don’t pump them up with too much water
Was dry here but the last week it rained for 3 days straight
Got so much water that my honey dew melons split
Same thing with the cabbage & butternut squash
To much water could lead to bud rot
Keep an eye on it
