I have never been able to eliminate them completely Jon, but I control the shit out of them. I'm using the sns drench and then the systemic. A g nat here and there, but I'm in control!

well I put a bunch of mosquito dunk in water lastnight and this morning I watered all the girls in soil with it and I added more to the socks in the resses.I also sprayed the whole room exept above the screen with Safer End All, gnats were dropping everywhere lol...so between the SNS209,the mosquito dunks and the Safer End All if that doesnt get rid of them I dont know what will!

for all you soil growers my hydroshop guarantees that sulfur dust and dolomite lime sprinkeled on the surface of the soil,drenched and then flushed an hour later will kill every single larvea in the soil and not harm the plants. I think the lime is just to balance out the sulfur dust because it is very acidic.

just wondering mate. do u use drip clean or similar in ur nute mix to keep lines clean. i use it in wilma system and it makes plants much nicer shade of green and it stops drip lines clogging.

just sensizym bro, the spikes go right into a 1/4 inch line ive never had problems with clogs.The drain on the other hand is a pain in the ass,the roots grow right down into the next bucket.the system was designed to be continuous drip but because the plants are so big I have to run it 15 on 30 off right now,the root balls are huge though they just sit in the bit of water at the bottom kinda like Xlr8's setup.

u can get copper discs to cover the drain hole and roots wont grow through it, they'll shy away. look for iws copper discs.

Yellow sticky cards can be a good tool to let you know how much progress you are making. They should have them at hydro shop. Gnats and bugs stick to them, so it helps a little with eradication --- but mostly it tells you how well your other measures are working. I just set one on top of the media near the base of the plant, the little buggers are attracted to it and will get stuck to it.
One of those "Hot Shots" pest strips might be a real good idea too. Just make sure you can turn off ventilation in the room for a bit so the vapor builds up a little. They are instant death to a lot of bugs, but supposedly people-safe if you're not in the room with it for longer than 3 hours a day. The active ingredient is called Dichlorvos. Read up on it, but it's another tool in the arsenal for me. As McLoadies pointed out, it can be difficult to completely eradicate these things (though it can be done with patience!). The dunks will render them harmless to the plants pretty quickly.
Make sure you don't have standing water anywhere - they can breed in a thimble full of water. I dump a bit of bleach in the drains of a sink near my grow room when I have fungus gnats, for example. They spread fungus, too, so a product like "Zone" from Dutch Masters can help limit fungal/mold damage if added to the reservoir. Often if you have fungus gnats, there's also a fungus somewhere.
Sounds like you are on it, and I'm sure they'll be running for the hills in no time. Hungry as hell for lack of safe food at your joint!

ok I think I have some stickys around somewhere,I put a plate on the ground under the screen with slices of tomatoe that was ready for the garbage and I added some water and dunk to it,within 5 minutes theres was around 10 gnats in it,im hoping theres a ton in it tonight
