Munki's Ebb n Flow 3 x 3 SCROG 400W HPS Grow

pH did state in the excerpt that each plant had its own 2 x 4 space to fill. You and I however are both using HPS lamps so I definitely take your advise into strong consideration. It doesn't appear that there is a hard and fast rule to the length of time for pulling down the above screen growth. I did it last night and it is hard to see those beautifully forming buds get pulled under and squashed under the screen. I had one stem partially separate from its parent branch. It will live but it is the second time this one plant (one on the left) had a crack happen at an internode. I don't think it is as conducive to ScrOG as the plant on the right.

If I do ScrOG again, I will not use one that is this tight. I didn't realize how many times I would have to align and pull the branches through. Live and learn.

i ran a scrog in DWC before, and accidentally split the meristem half way down to the roots. I had topped it, and was trying to bend the two big stems opposite directions to fill out the screen.

i just taped it back up, and she produced just fine. the stem never healed itself, but the tape did the job to the end. lol. i couldn't believe it at the time, i thought for sure i would have messed up its ability to transport nutes and h2o to the tops.

Just been letting them grow up for a couple of days then back under the screen they go. I am seeing more of the budsites farther down along the stems coming to life. :)

I'm amazed at the mechanics of the Scrog - lots of variables. Seems like you really have to know the strain.

Yeah, that helps with a lot of growing issues! I'm still learning how the plants respond to being pulled back under the screen. I would be getting a couple of inches of stretch up if all the tips had been pointing to the light the whole time. Pulling them under slows that stretch way down. Seems the plant takes some time to redirect the growth to the side buds along the stem, then starts upward growth from each of those points along with trying to get the branch end to turn back up to the light. So, I'm just going to not touch it for a few days while they try to regrow back up through the screen. Then, I'll take those new shoots and train them back under one more time, let them grow back out for a few days and re-evaluate. I may have to do this a few more times but as I do not know how long the flowering period of this strain is, it will be a guessing game as to when to stop pulling the growing bud tips back under. The HID will give me more leeway with that timing.

Continuing to pull down the swelling budsites but at the same time trying to ensure they all get direct light. Seems to help as buds are forming everywhere. Guesstimate would be around 50 sites. :grinjoint:

Anyways, here is how the screen looks and some emerging bud porn.

Very, very nice work. Cant wait to see those 50 thick, sticky buds popping through that screen. Great job.

Loving every minute of this one.

Thanks guys. I'm loving it too though the spread on the canopy is reaching the edges of where the lamp can reach at its present height. I'll need to raise it again to compensate but I don't want to go too high. Kind of a balancing act that I'm just going to have to "play by ear".

nice munki- man you bot some cajones for pulling your lady out the screen

Heh, thanks. It wasn't that bad as I haven't let the branches grow through for more than a couple of inches. It was the easiest way to clear out the undergrowth. It is my first grow so i am willing to put forth a lot of effort. I will be trying to simply things on subsequent grows.

looking nice munki,

how long have you been in 12/12 again?

Two weeks now. Lights were flipped on August 5th. I will do a reservoir change out tonight with some stronger bloom levels of nutes.

Right on time, the beans arrived!

These are a couple of freebies. I personally wouldn't buy femmed seeds, but a nice quality to have if you only get one seed.
