So u attribute the split stem to the rigidity of the stem itself? I thought u did that. It should be cool. I've used duct tape b4. What's with the rubbing of the stem, did I miss something? And what do u mean about pullin off a grow where U wouldn't dare. f that's what ur used to,I'm sure U would. Had no clue this is ur 1st grow and u went hydro? U got balls dude. I haven't even touched hydro. Lookin at ur journal, seein 420fied and PitVipers journals, its only a matter of time b4 I take a stab at it. Lookin good tho munk, like a "blanket of buds"
Thanks man. I just remember when I first read your journal, you didn't want to even carry PVC pipe into your living area as that would attract bad attention. Not being able to have a ready excuse for using a lot of the materials needed would make it extra difficult. I tried to keep my grow on the down low, but still everyone in my household figured it out soon enough. So for you to do what you do in your urban setting without people knowing is a testament to your stealth. Hat's off to you.
Stem rubbing....that is starting to sound dirty! I did it and was surprised that it had a somewhat different smell than the flowering tops.
As far as starting with hydro, for me it seems easier than dirt. Sure there are less components with dirt but getting the right mix of dirt and managing the waterings and nutrients seemed challenging. The lag time between an action like nutrient add and seeing the result in the plant can be days with dirt where in hydro, the change is seen within a day. This makes it much easier to note cause and effect and if something is wrong, it would be easier to solve. I think dirt would be more challenging. I will get there down the road and definitely when outdoor grows are attempted.
