Munki's Ebb n Flow 3 x 3 SCROG 400W HPS Grow

The lamp will be on for 20 hours a day the whole time. I could crack the california hash plant seed I have (its femmed) and just let it veg over that 2 months the Roadrunner grows out then flower the CHP after I harvest the RoadRunner. It could be a real beast of a plant in the end. It wouldn't cost too much to build another bucket like the one I have and there already is a second pump installed in the reservoir. I have time to ponder that.

If you're planning on another scrog the longer vegetative period would be a plus - you could end up only needing the one plant to fill your entire screen area if you veg it long enough. And flowering a fully mature plant has a lot to be said for it. So does having a plant under the screen from day one (or very early at least). They REALLY branch when you train them from "birth."

After watching SouthernWeed grow his RoadRunner, and now you're gonna take one through the lifecycle, I think I want to get one going too...

I'm heading to the store to find supplies to make something just for that RoadRunner.

Everything has filled in so nice munk. +reps

Got the RR AF seed (DynaFem) as a UFO "Unbelievable Free Offer" at the Attitude. It was included at a certain minimum purchase level. First Level is the CHP, then the RR. Other seeds are given at higher purchase levels at least at the time I got mine.

Training branches with string as an LST method should work as a substitute for the screen until I harvest the RR. Should be fun and have little to lose in the grow. Seeds were free so I would only lose out on some time and electrical energy.

Loved so much; he's getting repped on a lay away program :cheesygrinsmiley:

Heh! When it comes to reps, we have to think of 420 forums as the summer of love :hippy: as in we gotta spread it far and wide before we can love each other again! :peace:

Did a little maintenance on my air intake system so I was able to get a couple of pictures of it. Really simple in design. Outside air is pulled by the box fan through the filter into the box. Two six inch air ports are attached to the box which in turn connect to the air intake lines of the tent.

Looking good Munki. Nice job on the intake system. How effective is it?

I don't know the true throughput of it but the limiting issue is the vent in the actual building. From the dirt on the filter, you can see I am not using the whole surface. A front airspace like a baffle between that wall vent and the front of the filter would better use the full power of the fan but I will need to redesign it to do that correctly. Another time.

I run a 6 inch inline fan on a carbon scrubber filter on outbound air. That has been enough to create a "negative pressure" or lowered pressure space in the tent, causing any place on the tent surface that can leak air to do so INTO the tent. The only way air is to get out is through a layer of activated carbon. On the two air intakes, a nice gentle flow is felt. I did notice a decent boost of flow once I replaced the filter and retaped the fan to the box using better tape.

Anyone know where to get boxes in a 20 inch square dimensions? These kinds of box fans can be installed right inside them for a great fit.

Nice Pics Munki! The canopy is looking very healthy.

I like the box fan idea - would have been a lot cheaper than the inline fan I just bought -d'oh!

I guess I gotta go on the layaway rep plan too...

hey munki,

from the looks of it i think you pulled them under the screen the right amount. looks like it will be nice and even the whole way out. leaves look green and healthy.

very nice job so far.

I measured the length of the branches coming through and I got many at about 3 inches with the few towards the edges being at 3 3/4 inches. Overall, it looks pretty darn even across the top. There are areas in the middle that remain just under the screen but still see the lamp well. Light levels are fairly even so far. The smell from touching a leaf then smelling that finger is truly a heavenly thing to experience.

I started 12/12 on August 5th, so they are finishing up their 25 day. Here is a pic when I flipped the switch.

Now a more recent shot to show the amount of "stretch".

Keep in mind there was a good amount of pruning that occurred between these dates.

Damn now thats a strech.Good call on when to flip the switch.

I think so especially considering the amount of room there are for the roots and the amount of light the 400 watt can offer.

Other than daily reservoir checks and maintenance, there is little to do for them except watch for potential problems. They look pretty darn good considering the darn heat wave our area has experienced over the past 5 - 6 days.

i feel you on this heat wave.i spent the last 2 days in the water and i'm burned as hell along with my ladies.well at least the clones got a little burnt. Left and didnt know i wasnt coming back for 2 days and the place got hot as hell being so hot out and not ajusting my thermostats.Cant wait for this wiinter. I was reading that we're suppose to have a bad el nino system this winter. That means flooding which i can live with i got a truck, cold weather, nice purple nugs snowboarding..ohh yeah

El nino won't guarantee a wet winter, but we can sure use it. Yeah, there will be mudslides in the areas recently burned (or currently burning!), but anything that can relieve the drought would be welcome. I'm hoping for a good 2 week pineapple express weather system to really slam California with serious moisture. Yeah, some fantastic skiing and snowboarding will be had late January to early February; just don't get caught in an avalanche!
