Mother of Berries, M.O.B. Maine Strain

Thanks man! I veg them long and use copious amount of beneficial bacteria, so I guess the trunk is the side effect of that.

I will start by saying I have never run hydro. I know a guy that ran all different forms of hydro that has switched to organic soil. He is a care giver and all of the people he grows for much prefer the organic soil grown bud over the hydro. His hydro was the best I had seen but his organic is even better. It smells better and tastes better. I run soil. I actually use Doc Bud's Hi Brix kit and suggest you look into it. It is the easiest way I have grown and I get better results than anything I have muddled through before.
Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures I suggest giving that thread a look. It is long. But if you see Doc Bud on there you can check out his directions for how to use the kit. There is a link in his signature. The kit is about 90 plus you will need a bale of promix and or so pounds of earth worm castings. This is good for 6 plants in 7 gallon pots. Everything I have grow this way is happier and healthier and smells and tastes better. You also have a higher resistance to pests and disease using this method. There are a lot of people journaling and sharing their positive results. If you have issues Doc and others are always willing to help.

Thanks for the shoutout Monkey. That is a decent haul for cfl's. How do the buds feel? Are they squishee and moist? Are your stems rubbery or do they snap? They should not be quite ready for jars yet. If you think they are really dry that quick I would put it all in a brown paper bag and roll the top closed. Check it every day and kinda move it around a bit.

Not done yet. Still moist and stem isn't dry enough. Will be sitting on pie plate until they are.

I did some research today and all my bud felt like popcorn on the outside, a certain brittle nature to it from top to bottom and stems were easy to snap. I have moved them to my curing jar. If anyone disagrees let me know and I'll pull them out, I made my decision based on the number of posts and websites I read and the content they held. Sitting in an air tight jar, plan to burp periodically for about 1/2 hour each time. Unless otherwise advised.

If you can, put a hygrometer in the jar to check your humidity. I use Bodeva humipaks myself because I was scared I didn't have the right humidity. It should be around 62 percent.

Doggie Daddy I have seen others suggest that you should wait until after you cure a bit to put the bovedas in. I believe the reasoning was that you need the variation in RH to sweat the buds and get it to actually cure. I have used them and I have better results waiting until I cure for a bit. Monkey what you are doing sounds right. I usually open my jars for a few hours at a time for a couple of weeks and then lower the amount of time they are open as I go along. I may be doing it wrong though but it works for me. :thumb:

Thank you Doggie Daddy, TheGreenYeti. I appreciate all info and help, it's been much needed.

I think what I took from my first grow and from what I have learned from all of you is: No person, book or yield calculator can ever tell you what to expect only the lady herself will tell you when she is done, period.

Well done . I'm curing just like that. Have the flower in glass jar and air it out on a plate once a day for 15-30 mins. Mostly until the bud feels nice and crisp again.
I have never used the humidity packs but am very interested in it.
New grow is off to a good start.

Thanks Guru! I won't be able to this time around but will in future cure cycles and will be getting a humidipack and hygrometer as soon as humanly possible.

August 1st, Week and Day of growth not recorded. I'm not going to be as analytical of this grow from a daily snapshot stand point. However, rest assured they are being cared for behind the scenes. All grown in smart pots (except 1 in an irrigation pot (front right), I have cut the music for a few weeks now to get an idea as to whether there is any difference between the MOB grow with music from seed to harvest and a grow w/o I'm quickly beginning to see that music may have influenced the previous grow and may seek to start it up in a week two depending on how things look in comparison.

One on front left is not as bushy as others and I've read can indicate being male. Would you agree?

I have only ever had a couple of males in my garden so far and they have all grown really well. I usually see it stated that males are overly vigorous. It could just be strain related and the only way I ever know is by seeing either pistils or balls.
