Should I buy panda film or just buy a good size Mylar tent? That way my grow room is also portable

Yes, no probs Yeti , can do! For a long time i wondered about why growers were putting their girls in the dark for 24-48 hrs. before chop and i had heard it was to increase resin on the buds and colas. I started testing this theory and continued to test over many crops , over a few yrs. I found that the resin did NOT increase in quantity at all but harvesting the plants that way had another benefit i was unaware of. If you have ever seen those time laps films with high speed film during a typical 24 hr. photoperiod you can clearly see the rise and fall of the leaves, quite a drastic difference in attitude and posture. The answer is/was simple...the plant literally 'dumps all it's fluids and nutrients back into the soil until the plant needs it again for 'photosynthesis' to take place when the lights come back on. After looking into this some more it made total sense to me , to continue doing this 'harvest in the dark' method...not to get more resin , but to harvest before the plant can call back all it's fluids for the day. This method made a lot of sense to me and i've been harvesting this way for many years now and will continue to do so. makes 100% sense to me...Cheers bud!
Just a word for any nay sayers out there...Resin glands take time to form and mature...way more time than 24-48 hrs. got it! All ya gotta do is look at how long we wait for the gland heads to turn milky (peak harvest time) from clear...nuff said!
I do not know anything about Daisy chaining lights. I suspect your LED is not 300 true watts. Most that are rated at that are about 180 watts I believe. I do not want to beat a dead horse so I will drop the subject after this. But this is what Duggan said when I asked him to explain his thoughts on the dark period:
That is up to you. I like my tents but I did just make a tent out of 2x2s and panda film. I could not find a tent the size I wanted so with some prompting from other members I built one. they suggested a PVC frame but I was afraid my T5 would be too heavy for the PVC to hold and went with wood for nowShould I buy panda film or just buy a good size Mylar tent? That way my grow room is also portable

I should be good to go then I'm thinkingYour light only pulls 132w from the wall according to the description which is about average for a 300w led.
The only thing i am still figuring out is air flow and how to run the cords without having light leaks. That is the big advantage of store bought tents
I am not sure if the shape would work too well but I have heard of people using mylar blankets as a reflective material with good results.
Running new circuits from breakers is relatively straight forward, just spend a bit of time nutting up on the most commonly used practices. If your 50's wiring is "knob and tube", completely avoid putting heavy loads on those circuits and look into changing all the wires and circuits if the building is yours. However, if your power is divided into a fuse receptacle(s) and and a breaker box, then adding new circuits isn't that difficult so long as you're very careful and meticulous. TBH, though I wouldn't consider LED panels as heavy loads, at least not the ones below 300w. Heck, if ya think about it, a very small space heater will draw a kilowatt (1000 watts), but at the end of the day, out dated wiring is very dangerous because back then they used "series circuits" whereas today we primarily use "parallel circuits". To my knowledge, daisy chained devices are then in series, of course with much newer higher rated wiring. From the perspective of the circuit that powers the daisy chained devices, they would just be viewed a larger load. So if you had 3 daisy chained 300w lights, the load would be 900 watts total (.9kW)
Radiant Barrier is another great option for tent/room construction and is much cheaper than actually buying a tent. It's basically mylar bubble wrap, though I'd argue that it's much more rigid than bubble wrap per say, but still just as flexible as you'd want it to be. TBH, I don't know why I'm not using it now as I have a bunch on hand, yet my stoner logic at the time I built my rooms told me buying panda film would be better. IDK, perhaps odor containment was my ultimate reasoning, but I forget. Now that it's in my mind, I'm thinking I might swap out a room from Panda back to radiant barrier. If you dig through my old videos on YouTube you'll see what I mean as I used it at my previous grow.
Yeti, have you tried the 48 hour dark harvest? If yes, what is the posture of the plant like when you take her apart? Like, is she limped over, or do the leaves fall off or anything? I'm trying to understand how this might affect my wash? Any more insights on the subject?
