Morglie's Perpetual: New Space & New Strains

The buds on the Malawi x PCK have these cool foxtails growing out on them. Its a PCK characteristic. Very cool looking.
The Kerala is coming along. Her leaves have all been fairly droopy now for the last week or so. Hopefully she perks up. The buds are starting to build. They need to fill in a bunch though.
And a pair of Purple Dawgs going in flower.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Oh man, PD looks like a real yielder!

Oh man, PD looks like a real yielder!
All of them have been pretty decent yielding for the size. I've been meaning to post a couple of good pics since I saw you talking to Lazy and Sticky about the tiny buds and lack of yield on UD.

When I grow out a batch of F2s I'm thinking about growing some of my Panama F2s as well. The Panama have all been greasy, with these huge swollen buds. I'm wondering if those characteristics will carry over without affecting the rest of the cross to much. Adding a bit of that wonderful floating sativa buzz it has probably wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Ya it does! It looks like there is a green pheno as well?
There are plants that grow green buds, but so far, they all have appeared purple once you grind them. The green one above has just enough violet hue to it, that I think it'll be the same. They vary some in smell and flavor. The greenest one I grew out of the first batch smells quite a bit like the fruity Malawi pheno. UD really has a lot in the flavor department that it brings to the mix though. The rest have all had slightly different smells but the creaminess of the mother dominates them all.

Purple dawg looks wonderful :yummy:

All looking pretty good actually. Hope everything else is doing well for you too, Morglie :Namaste:
Thank you. Its been a fun cross the mess with and smoke. Its not for the light hearted though. I've always thought my Malawi was potent, but this cross is hitting off the charts.

Speaking of the Panama, I trimmed that yesterday along with the Zam x Pan, and the latest grow of my Malawi. The Panama has a very strong lime scent that sits over this astringent aroma of cedar and pine sap. It tingles the nose and throat on smoking, almost to the point of stinging. It's got a very nice floaty head buzz. Feelings of peace and relaxation flood the senses, but it's still very functional and energizing.

Oh, and on a side note, in reference to crossing it with Purple Dawg above, they all seem to finish in 8-9 weeks, so it shouldn't prolong the flowering of the cross.

The Zam x Pan has this nice creamy taste nothing I can pick out in detail yet, but I've only smoked mostly dried larf so far. The buzz feels like it shifts you mentally a couple of feet to the side. Its very peaceful, but again like the Panama, very functional and not narcotic in the least.

I've forgotten how much I enjoy a beautiful sativa buzz. I smoke Malawi regularly, but it's got a lot of energy you can feel in your body. Its not as good for sitting and contemplating life, the universe, and everything. I may have to try a 20 hit smoke session with one of these like Doc suggests.

Peace

Great updates , Morglie!

The Panama have all been greasy, with these huge swollen buds.

Is that something you want in the PM x UD? I have notices some buds fell like they are on the greasy side like when you're trimming them. And some are plain like glue. UD seems to be on the glue side.

or was this last comment about the Panama?

AAAnd I see no reason why anyone would not wanna grow this strain. Awesome. I am so glad I chose this as my first indoor grow this fall.

Cheers,

Cheers,
The last two comments were about the Panama F2s. I've only grown out a couple, and seen a few pictures of the ones Hashhound grew out, but they all seem to be fast finishers, so technically, the one about 8-9 weeks could be about them as well. It shouldn't add much if any to the flower time.

My main reason for considering crossing the Panama with Purple Dawg though, is to see if I can up the size of the buds. You guys have been talking about the small buds and low yield of Ultra Dawg and I got to thinking as I was trimming a Panama yesterday. This consisted of cutting the buds off of the stems. The strain seems to all have big fat buds that are covered in resin and the leaf to calex ratio is superb. The greasiness, is just a reference to how sticky and covered in resin they are.
It'll push the cross more towards the sativa side, but that could be balanced through selection. I prefer the sativa side though personally, so it's a nice potential side effect in my opinion.

Its a fun cross. Its been my main smoke the last couple of weeks. Well, until yesterday. I've been smoking the Zam x Pan and Panama. That stuff is nice. The Zam x Pan has this sweet floral flavor to it and a beautiful buzz for relaxing. The Panama flavor is astringent, but it's a similar buzz.

The purple Malawi I trimmed at the same time, smelled heavenly when I cracked it open today to breath. Its a spicy, berry, creamy confection.

I'm loving the look of the buds on the Malawi x PCK. They have these foxtail nubs all over them.
I'm getting a similar style on one of my Purple Dawgs. 61 days and not showing amber yet. I think this one may go 10 weeks. A bit longer than the ones I've grown so far, but I can't complain. She's got this sweet berry confection smell to her, and the yield is going to be pretty good.

Another pheno. It has citrus mixed in with the same sugary confection smell.

Crockett Dawg x Tangie. This is a seriously vigorous plant. I'm interested to see how it smokes. I'm not a big fan of the Crockett Dawg buzz, but the flavor is superb. I'm hoping the Tangie kicks the buzz into a higher gear.

I have a Blueberry going, to see what the buzz is about. Its a Seedsman release though, so I'm not expecting the same quality as I would get from DJ. It has a velvety smell to it. Its suffering some seriously crispy leaves though. She's a hungry plant. I probably should have super drenched her around flip.

Peace

That purple dawg has interesting fans, how each blade overlaps the one next it. Looking good Morglie!
Is that the purple dog or the tangie?
Thank you. That's actually not a Purple Dawg though. You almost got it Lazy. Its Crockett Dawg x Tangie. It's a nice and vigorous hybrid. I've got a Tangie going as well, so I can compare the two.

Photo dump from today. The rooms are getting crowded.

4 different Purple Dawgs. The purple phenos are longer runners. I could have cut the two longest running ones last week, but I've been trying to get them to amber up, and the one with all the foxtails just doesn't seem to want to. I think I might let her go another week.

Crockett Dawg x Tangie
Malawi x PCK. I found a nanner on her today. She's not showing any amber though. I think I'm going to let her go another week as well.
Kerala. She's finally starting to fill in and develop a smell. Nothing distinct, but it's there.
My notation list for the plants in flower. It really helps to see when plants are getting ready to need a drink and if it's a drench, at a glance, on those busy days when I have half an hour to squeeze in my gardening.
Well, that's all I've got.

Peace

The Malawi x PCK and the longest running Purple Dawg showed amber today, so they are coming down tomorrow morning along with two smaller Purple Dawgs. I love foxtails.

Lots of great looking plants in here Morg! That Kerala has some very interesting pistils, never seen anything like that.

:passitleft:
Thank you. The Kerala is an exotic looking one. She may fill in yet. I'm thinking she'll be ready around New year's.

This PM x UD cloned in 7* days. That's about as fast as I have seen. I think the only other one I have seen that fast is the black dog.
Awesome!
