Mono Grows a Pound

Photosynthesis is only done with lights on, but the cold temps(13C or less) at night will shut down all of the plants growth, and cause them to either A)have stunted growth (to include foliage and root systems), or B) kill the plant.

So while yes photo is only during the day, you do get growth at night in the form of roots, which will halt with the decrease in temps.

Thanks Jinn, that makes much more sense to me :).

So heater it is then, hopefully I will be able to get it all set up at the weekend. Need to wall mount the thing as no floor space left and don't want to heat the whole room the tent is in.

While we are on the subject of heating. I wondered what you guys thought of my plan to heat the shed. I was thinking of using a small 8kw woodburing stove I have currently in the garage to provide radiant heat during lights out.

We currently heat the house solely by wood, so it's the cheapest option for heating the shed too. The stove burns for approximately 8 hours on a low burn.

Although it can't be thermostatically controlled, me and Mrs mono figured it would be a cheap, environmentally friendly way to heat the shed :)

if youve already got a wood burning stove, use the wood stove as a heat source, and make your own radiant heat system using pex tubing (or something similar)

You can run the tubing under the tent, or around the tent, and it will radiate the heat from the liquid flowing through the tubing from the wood stove.
You'd need to create some sort of heat sink and res to connect to the stove. A trash can and copper tubing would work lovely.

Good and annoyingly it's a boiler stove so most of the heat goes to water, and radiators in every room other than the one with the tent lol. It also gets closed down at night for an all night burn. Keeping radiators slightly warm but nothing major. Whole house sits around 8C on a night so quite surprised the tent is around 12C.

I think the easiest option is an electric heater since we are already in flowering.

Oh, thanks for the PM Jinn, sounds like you have some very interesting challenges in the near future. I would be very interested in finding out more as things progress :)

Im good matey, tired as hell, but all good.

Wood burner heating sounds very eco-friendly... I like it !!!, you will need good intake for fresh air.. Dont want all the oxygen getting used by the fire.... Im looking at a wood burner in my new shed next year... Now its my smoking cave, the place is freezing ...

:Namaste:

That's true. Although the draw of the fire might help a passive intake to pull in more fresh air. Shouldn't be too much of a fire hazard with the stove being a closed system.

Would be a nice cozy smoking shed with a stove in there. A stove and a nice comfy chair. Maybe a little tv...

The auto candy kush's. I've given up on their age and expected finishing times lol. They appear to have finished stretching now and are beginning to form buds. I gave them a good feed of canna terra Flores, with an added shot of PK 13/14 earlier today. Hopefully this will give them the required building blocks for bud formation.
