Mmmmick 1st Scrog 3 strains 90w LED closet

thanx!! Really think about it. The thing that everyone get on LED's about is light penetration. And a scrog fixes that, right? Een light penetration and you can get the closet you want to get. So honestly It really is the perfect led style grow.
I put a message to cammie her ledhydrogrow journal, it said to check yours out, if she hasnt already. I suggested she do the same. I'm really hyped on your grow. It really makes me want to get an led panel, and do a scrog. Just to see the results. In fact what kind and were did you get yours?

That was the first and most important lesson I learned when I first lit up plants with the UFO. And as soon as I saw my first scrog it was like a light turned on in my feeble brain. With scrog and led it's so easy to set up a small closet grow stealthy style. No worries about heat so lots less fan noise, all thats needed is some airflow for fresh air no cooling. At least in smaller size leds. And legal or not none of us want to attract attention to our grows.
Cammie and I have discussed a demo grow with her 126w panel and it should be here in a few days.
I'm using a UFO 90w triband with Red blue orange leds 120 degree light pattern. This works fairly well for a small screen (close mylar helps tremendously), but I think Cammies 60 degree panel will do a much better job than the UFO. The leds in the HGL 126w are closer to the peaks needed by mj and the tighter light dispersion at 10-12" is going to cover my screen with more intense directed light. The 30 degree model is likely the answer to the lack of penetration for plants grown without a screen
The source for my led is no longer selling on ebay but the newer UFO's with white added might be a better choice anyway.
the UFO is proving to be quite suitable so far for a small grow and would probably be fine for a first timer with low cash availability, but I think the step up to the 126w panel from HGL will produce better bud developement and yield. I expect it to be well worth the difference in price.
Hope to get started by early to mid december, maybe sooner, right now my clones need to get big enough to be mommas and they are under a couple of low power flouro tubes so nothing is happening quickly. I'm kinda excited to start that grow as it will be the first where I can veg the plants under a good light and scrog it at the same time. This grow I didn't veg very long under the screen and my LST worked against me because the two most prolific plants were grown in a tight half circle. The stretch was used up trying to straighten them out, but I couldn't make myself wait, lol. Wish I had, but you know what kids are like when they have a new toy,lol. Lotta bud sites that never got to play.
 
thanx for the info. Yeah I've been really checking them out. It wuold be nice to do a small led scrog and not really have to worry about the heat issues on it. I would do it with a heavy yeilding strain that way weight loss wouldnt really be an issue. But thats just a thought at the moment.

I'll be sittin in on that grow for sure, you've turned out such beautiful bud it would be a treat to watch you work a led scrog. I'm thinking I'll go with the Super Skunk xGrape Crush or maybe the Big Bud. They are both loaded with budsites that didn't get to develope. I have to smoke the SS first to decide tho. heheh
 
Super skunk x Grape kush sounds good great yeilder and a good flavor w\ a nice rezin count. Sounds promising. I hope my purple widow x bubba kush cross comes out great. I think with the height of the p.w in adition to the sugar coat, smell and stature of the B.K in a scrog would be beneficial with a led lighting setup.The P.W gets big fast!!! Thats the only reason that its not suggested to be grown indoor, no other reason. She has great a purple color, almost like it was dyed from what I've seen in other peoples gardens.

That PW cross would be great in Scrog, do you use cool dark temps to try to bring out the color?
I'm thinkin I might go with a strong sativa dominant for my first seed buy somewhere down the road. I have read that indicas do best under the screen but I would like to try a tall sativa with some topping just to see how it works out. Maybe just 2 plants so there'll be lots of room to spread.
 
the color comes out natrually, and the bubba kush needs the cool temps to bring her color out, thats why the cross is perfect. I think the offsring should have a nice amount of natrual color on them w\ or witout the cool temps. iwould love to try a sativa in a scrog. The screen would easly fill up. I'm thinking 4 plants u shaper training w\ t screen for each. shouldnt take that long to fill. I have an extra closet in the room, just may have to dedicate it to that. MUNKI used just 2 and he had a 3 x 3 screen I believe. SO your idea would completely work.

Nice combo with some great bag appeal from the sound of things. I would caution against going much bigger than 2x2 screen tho. I think the real key to a led grow is staying within the lights coverage area. I might try a bigger screen later on just to see how far it can be pushed.
at 19x27 current size if I get good growth at the long edges then I would be comfortable going to 30x30 maybe.
But a couple of sativas in a screen that size would most likely do well with a good veg period. I may have to run two grows,lol. Be nice to pull buds every month or so and still be in legal limits for plant count. I guess with sativas it wouldn't be every month even with two flower areas.
 
yeah pretty much every 1.5 months. CAuse what you figure 10-12 weeks on a sativa.so every 5-6 weeks if you time it just right.depening on where you are at and the plant limits. limits in cali at their lowest number is 6 flowering and 12 veging.sO you figure 2 plants a box, flowering. Set them each 3-4 weeks apart thats a harvest every month and still being with in state law. And while those are going you could still grow a mother and clones and still be within the limits the law states.

Its the waiting period thats the hard part. Vegging til they are filled.

Been thinking of one of the two for my next run.

I've been doing S.O.G for years And I gotta tell you. You would have to "lollypop" those plants. The foliage gets so dense that your not going to get any penetration with an L.E.D. Thats why I have such a powerfull light for a smaller space.My bottom growth gets as thick as the top, but I have a 1000k running. I know LED's can get powerful but the penetration just isnt strong enough, yet. Thats why the "lollypopping" would work. All the light and strength could go to the top cola of the plant. And you could really pack them in there. So It can go either way a ScrOG of SOG for LED's.
