Melville's Doug's Varin Winter Grow

I've read the original post. I may try a variation on it using the instant pot, but I've got at least two months to plan what I'm going to do. I am hoping to have enough to try a couple of different methods.
I wonder if it would work with the vg method?

Right, but I think that was a thread on Fresh Harvest Oil, FHO?

If so, she was still decarbing as part of the long oil cooking process. I was talking more about keeping the cannabinoids in their acidic forms.
I will mainly be going with a decarbing process. The fact is I know that decarbed THCV has effects I want. I am willing to experiment with some THCVa, but that is dependent on harvesting enough to be able to experiment.

I asked that same question of @bluter and he was pretty sure the moisture in the bud would be a big problem.

if you are meaning a fresh full extraction olive oil method ... no it doesn't work.

instant pot is a dry bud and decarb in oil method. without the oil or vg bath at the correct temps and time it won't work. think of it as a cheap magic butter machine with extra uses.

feco methods are generally cold and non decarb. RSO or what we used to call weed oil, are similar to feco, but involve heat and decarb to complete the extraction.

Is that using alcohol or some form of gas? I'm familiar with RSO, but not FECO (which I think stands for Full Extract Cannabis Oil).

yes. it's normally an alcohol extraction. the bud is ground and washed in alcohol, filtered, and washed again. the alcohol is then left to evaporate at room temp naturally. the resin is then used.

it becomes a weed oil if you add heat to boil the alcohol off in a faster process.

Snow day today. Winds from the southeast bringing in some lake effect. Shoveling is going to be fun, lol.
At least things are warm in here.

I think SweetSue made thread on infusing with freshly harvested buds before drying to get as much of the cannabinoid content as possible. I don't have the link on hand, but it would seem to have it's advantages too.

Here is a list of all of Sue's threads if you're looking for a specific one sometime in the future. I have it bookmarked.

Stay safe! Just rain here!

I'll be watering/feeding her this evening just before lights on. I'm impatient to flip, but I know she'll do better if I wait until those inner shoots get bigger.
Still giving her 1g/Litre of MC, with a tiny pinch of Epsom, and she still seems happy with it.

Sore from shoveling yesterday. 40cm of snow, and a couple more fell overnight. At least it was a good workout, lol.

Be careful my friend @Melville Hobbes that snow can be rough on the old bones.
We wouldn't want you getting hurt.
Shoveling snow is for the younger generation.
Your ladies are beautiful btw.
I just love bushy plants with lots of big fans. :thumb:
Keep up the good work.

Stay safe
Bill

Oh absolutely!
I will be careful, thanks!
Can I say haha, you have me by a year and a half! Old man better be careful with that shovel!

I also love your plants...I'm with Bill (I usually am for some reason)

Good morning Mel :)

You must be so pleased! Your plant looks just beautiful :)
Thank you!
I am pleased, so I'm likely to fuck it up sometime soon, lol.
I'll do my best not to though.

I'll be checking to see if I need to add to the training tiedowns when I water her. I'm pretty sure I have the carhooks where I want them. I might move one or two of them, but likely not.

I'm just not sure about the lower main shoots. I'm wondering if I should let them grow now instead of tying them down any more to let them catch up to the top two. It's not really far enough to worry about, but I'm still thinking about it.

Mel you are doing a really good job with this journal. It’s easy to follow and informative.

If you are interested in free stuff, my advice, not that you asked, you should contact the sponsors. They actually donate product and seeds for good journaling.

I’ve actually been asked a few times to do sponsored runs but I’m waaaaaaay to uncouth. It would land me in permanent trouble. But I think you would do a great sponsored journal.
