McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

Good weed :420:!

There's afew things goin on with the ladies that I'm gonna address with this mornings water/feed/application. I'm noticing a few more fungus gnats lately, I gotta quit usin the happy frog for starts, I didn't have enough used soil when I did some cuts and was forced to use it.....it always comes with the damn gnats. SO, We will treat for em.

This is this mornings entree:

2 gallons water
1 tbsp molasses
1 tsp calmag
2 tbsp SNS 203
1 tsp SNS 604B
1 tsp sea grow 16-16-16

The molasses is standard, this is the second treatment of calmag, they'll get two more in flower. The sns 203 is a drench for the gnats...1/2 dose. The sns 604B is a flowering supplement......1/2 min dose. The triple sixteen is just a balanced fertilizer I've been using......I LIKE IT!, and that is 1/2 of a minimum dose. I'm not too hip to this many different ingredients in a dose.....but I'm gonna pop em with it...I bet they don't like it either!, but it won't hurt em...they will just wrinkle their noses like a kid takin nyquil.

Yep, they squinkled up their noses, just like I thought, but leaves didn't start turning brown and falling off, next time they get a dose of triple sixteen and molasses.....they are growing rapidly and begging for nitrogen, they got a little this feeding, I will hammer em with a full min dose next time....day after tomorrow. I love the fact that they dry out so quickly, it gives me more control. After that they will probly get straight water, to wash all the goodies down...LOL

Yeah ok, but why was the gorilla afraid to come down from his tree?!

Because jungle is massive!

:)

Hi Mcloadie. Just saw that you fed your girls this morning. Questions? Do you routinely give them cal mag as a preventive measure? And do you attract fungus gnats with the molasses? One of our houseplants has gnats and we have tried everything including hydrogen peroxide. So far they have stayed out of the tent. I have airpots and have heard that it can be a nightmare problem with them and all those holes! Do you think I dare add molasses? Going shopping for flowering ferts today so making my list!:cheesygrinsmiley::thanks:

you can cover the top layer of soil with sand so the baby gnats can hatch. neem oil also kills them. h202 will do nothing, ive tried it. ive also tried a bit of white vinegar.

the best is neem oil and dish soap.

IMHO, the fungus gnats are caused by too moist of soil for too long. I have em now, in my very young plants mostly, and it's from keeping the soil too moist, and the fact that they can be in new soil too. Yep, I put the calmag in in very light doses...periodically. You can get rid of the gnats with sns products also.
