McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

For the hps you need a pair of sunglasses lol. I still think the induction light
will produce just got to work out the issuses. Have you tried moving it
higher or lower?

Ya, it needs to be real close to the plants, I have alot of plants under it an I had to raise it to get tha footprint to cover everything....the lower buds are spindly....the upper stuff is good.

OK, FAK!, Initial impressions; it sounds like a b52 is warming up for takeoff, the f'n ight is brighter than hell and I see spots for ten minutes after I'm in there.

Life saver. Dont need a jet to move air. I run mine at less then 1/2 and it still moves air without making me def.

i didnt take any pleasure in being right, and did not at all intend on doing the "i told you so thing" just i have been down this path myself i tried the gajillion cfl thing ,blacklight, shoplights etc etc, in the end i got hps and was floored, its what the pros use for a reason, i finally picked up on that after wasting alot of money on trying to beat the system, at 1 point i was blowing breakers cuz i had over 1kw of cfls going and my plants were frying from all the heat, turns out if you match wattage of an hps with cfls you will produce far more heat each one has a built in ballast so 50 small ballasts you cant put outside the grow area, where with 1 ballast or 2 you can put it outside the tent/room etc ans with a vented hood suck out most the heat, when i got my first 400watt hps i could not believe it but my closet was 10 degrees cooler with the ballast in the closet and 20 when i relocated it outside the closet, so much for the cfls being cooler, i still think cfls are great for micro economy grows, but if you want big boy buds you gotta use big boy toys! lol im stoked you got it and cant wait to see what you say and show us in the following weeks,,,i have some spare 6inch ducting you can use, if you wanna drive 40-80 miles depending on where we are orientated to one another

I have used those cheap analog timers. they work fine for a while but they start changing start times themselves so keep a eye on them
I just ended up switching them on and off manually while I am in flower so nothing crazy happens:) in veg I will take my chances with them:)

Thanks bid, let's run it like this for a while and see what happens, I had the light around 18" above the canopy, got scared and moved it up to about 24".

I think thats a good thing.
its not like your going to get much stretch and this should increase the PAR rating to the whole canopy. pending on of the age of the bulb:)

Four girls in a bath has always been a fantasy of mine :dreamy: they're looking great mate.

I try to keep my 600, 8 -10 inches from the closest top with my fan blowing in between it keeps the temp 84f at the canopy. Just trying to encourage you to drop it on them a bit as you have plenty of fan, i'm sure they'll luv u for it.

Thanks dasher, a coupla days at this height, and we'll drop it a little, I wanna see what the stretch is like.

Haha, Fishy, I'm opening my mind up to ideas that I have been generally opposed to recently....I'm doing what I see as "moderate defoliation", pics in a coupla days....to be honest, the plants under the induction are looking WAY better than the ones under the hps, now, we have to understand that there are different strains, and the ones under the induction are crowded as hell waitin for the other ones to finish.....I predict that while the indagro may yield slightly less than the hps, there are more things to be taken into consideration and these things will be discussed as we move along....how many bulbs will a hps go through in ten years? Disease resistance? Operating costs? User friendliness? I would give a rookie grower the induction.....just me, but you can plug the fu--er in and bobs your uncle! We can't forget about the plant I got a qp off under the induction....or the rock hard buds I have taken from under it. It takes different methods and techniques with every rig.

good morning Mc and Loadie and a good weed also:)
Oh I'm sure the induction lamp is cheaper in the long run. 10 hps bulbs in ten years will prove that alone.
but more watts mean more buds, so it may equal out in the end:)

Top of the Bud to you Mcloadie ....very nice job ! Nothing makes me happier than to be trimming a bush !:) Right Fish ?
good weed Clay:)
trimming or just shoving my face in one or both in that order.
